(1940) The Thief of Bagdad
ADVENTURE
Jaffar (Conrad Veidt) uses black magic/ trickery to take over a kingdom and him pursuing to marry the princess (June Duprez) except that she is in love with Ahmad (John Justin) with the only person able to help them is Abu (Sabu) who has to go through many hurdles to do it.
The highlights of course is the imagination in terms of the Genie; the flying carpet and oracle among other things. One of the first adventure movies I saw as a child and is still enjoyable now as I saw it back then with Sabu stealing the entire movie who does not get the girl but should have.

(1936) Sabotage
SUSPENSE THRILLER ESPIONAGE
Adapted from the book by Joseph Conrad that has a blackout happening on a part of London with customers after leaving the theater demanding their money back as a result with the likely culprit is Oscar Homolka as he is hiding his face. Meanwhile, the young wife, Mrs. Verloc (Sylvia Sydney) of the owner of the movie theater says she barely can afford to do that, and tries to call out her husband Karl. Beside that theater is a small fruit store, with grocery worker, Ted (John Loder) intervening and defending Mrs. Verloc. During all the commotion, was when (Oscar Homolka) sneaks in, with the only person spotting him is Ted. And as soon as he comes in, the first thing he does was go straight into his bedroom and into the bed, which is conveniently the time when Mrs. Verloc walks in, telling her to go ahead. But just as she does, the lights came on again. And when Ted mentions he saw Karl coming in, he would then deny that ever happened and that he has been in bed all day. It was then he would return back to the fruit store to ask to leave early, and walk into the Scotland Yard police station as if they were expecting them there. That Ted was part of an operation of going undercover to expose an espionage ring with Karl being the prime suspect, instructed by his superiors that they want to wait until they are all caught all at once.
After watching Sabotage again after many years is still effective as it ever was especially when this happened when Hitler was in power.

(1954) Blackout/ Murder by Proxy
CRIME DRAMA
Adapted from the novel "Murder by Proxy" by Helen Nielsen that has Phyllis Brunner (Belinda Lee) offering.an already wasted customer, Casey Morrow (Dane Clark) a drink. Casey of course accepts, and while sitting together, she then offers him to make some quick money of 500 pounds if he agrees he would marry her. And by the time both of them leave, we then see Casey woken up in someone else's flat. At first he thought he was at the girl he met at her apartment but as it turned out it was someone else's. And although, he sees a painting of Phyillis Brunner right on front of him along with other paintings , she was not exactly the person who he though he should be seeing. As it turned out, the apartment belonged to an artist, Margaret Doone (Eleanor Summerfield) and he wondered how he got there in the first place. As soon as he gets satisfied with the answers she was giving him, he then leaves, but as soon as he walks past the newspaper stand, he then sees on top of the headline of "Darius Brunner" found murdered. And that his daughter who is a heiress happens to be missing. And upon seeing Phyllis again at Margaret's apartment viewers then get a little more insight how her father was killed which was presumed to be a steel fireplace poker. This gives viewers the presumption it was a frame up to make it appear a drunk guy like Casey murdered him so that someone may be able to benefit. Phyllis believes it is close associate, Lance Gordon (Andrew Osborn).
