I guess im just biased being that i grew up when indie films were being created all the time, well at least in comparison to what we see being produced these days.. The acting was on par with really just about any big box film & the Lead managed to captivate me regardless of what otherwise could have been a slog. Genuine chemistry was present from all the main characters & other than somewhat rocky sound engineering, i felt little difference from any content you might find streaming on netflix or the like.. i really hope to see what this studio may offer next & wish all the best for these young actors. Very enjoyable indie.

If you haven't had any reason to forgive than count yourself lucky & go watch the born identity or oceans 15.. Those who understand this movie will understand its necessary experience in film. Its a movie about life not a movie to forget life. Although i wish for those who brought this narrative to film would have found the ultimate expression of forgivness for their own father... as an autobiographical inference is unavoidable.. i understand the journey is personal.. regardless the experience was important, however gut wrenching some of its content for the experienced.. like a stone pulling you to the bottom of the ocean. I can only hope for those on this journey they find the path to forgiveness so they can learn to float.. God bless the team of creators that had the courage & the stomach to portray this important work in an unapologetic & honest exhibition of the human condition.

I'd say im not sure why people are being so hard on this movie but i know why, its because our modern cgi society has expectations of megalithic eye candy melodrama & really doesnt have the heart to approach a subject like WW2 without it being a spectacle instead of autobiography. I pulled back tears many times & perhaps its because i associated with the individual & the family the movie primarily revolves around but i found it to be a sentimental experience that more than paid reverence for the subject matter. Granted it had an England-centric narrative that was a bit heavy handed & at times a bit hard to swallow as authentic, but what country isnt patriotic about its own history. In no way was i let down in being transported into the history of this war & felt a sense of mourning for the men who were lost fighting back the devil.
