TabithaX's rating
If you are wondering, the names, dates and details of all these crimes have been altered completely in this show. I think this would have received a higher rating had this been made clear from the beginning. For instance, Episode 1 from Season 1. The first and last name of the couple were completely different. Their occupations were different. Their names were. Scott and Karen Rosten. He was a chiropractor. In reality, the federal judge (federal court, high seas murder) used special circumstances to send him to prison for life. He claims innocence to this day. The country he claimed was involved was Israel, not Ukraine. No ties to Israel were ever proved. There is a good 48 Hours that was made in 2006 from CBS if you can find it. Try to stream from their website for free or on YouTube TV. I noticed the rating for this show was higher in Canada and UK, that may be because those countries are not research freaks like we are in the US. There is an article out there from emmacruises dot come that will list what the real cases are compared to these episodes. I have this 5 stars because it at least puts 26 cruise ship crimes in one show which is interesting. Happy Sleuthing!
Careless and dishonorable parenting behaviors are featured in this sleepy, plodding, slow moving, boring title which predictably was loved by all 1% of world's award festivals, whose sycophant participants coincidentally also have these traits of immorality and self-indulgence. Oh but it is all so hot when there's a cute actress doing the dirty scenes and, after all, it's just the kid's childhood. See, this is the issue. Hedonists live for themselves. The novel should have never been a movie in the 1st place. Sorry Mags.
This movie has a ethereal, strange vibe to it. It is over the top in many ways. This is because it is not happening. It is occurring in this writers imagination. There is a very good synopsis of this movie out there in web land but suffice to say the director says this: "Charlotte's character kept mixing fantasy and reality. Although in Swimming Pool, everything related to fantasy is part of the act of creation, so it is more channeled and less likely to end up causing madness. In terms of directing, I've treated everything that is imaginary in Swimming Pool in a realistic way so that you see it all - fantasy and reality alike - on the same plane." So, guys no one was hurt, no one had S@x, no one came to the house, no one tricked Charlotte. This is a deep movie about a frustrated writer who resentful about her life, the subject she is known to write about and her publisher. Give this movie a chance and use your intuition. These are two actresses at the top of their acting game and this director uses his craft to create a beautiful dream like movie.
