First I want to say, I am not a Quentin fan. I went to Vol 1 because I like Hong Kong films. That was mildly entertaining but Australian audience I felt were shafted. Getting the black and white version when far more gory films have been screened in Australia.
Anyway back to the review of this volume.
The Bad bits: Bill (David C) slowed the film down with his talking. I sat there thinking 'just get to the point!' I thought for what he did to The Bride (Uma T) He wouldn't beat around the bush instead he talks on about other stuff rather then tell his motive first. Next the final fight between Bill and The Bride disappointing. I thought after the House of Blue Leaves the fight between her and Bill would top it. It doesn't.
The Good Parts: You get to find out who The Bride is. I won't say it anything more but the director makes this point well.
I suggest you see both films back to back because it would make a great film. Or wait for Quentin to release it as a single film also track down it the color version if you want to see the blood in full glory father then dumbed down for the censors.

The Matrix is now considered a classic sci-fi film. Due to it's ground breaking SFX, awesome script and deep substance. The Matrix Reloaded however so far seems to be a SFX movie. When I saw it, I thought that The Matrix SFX were bad in comparision. Now I admit that not much philospical/religions like stuff is in this movie. The directors show us more of a puzzle then ask "what is reality?" The biggest reason why some ppl have given this film bad reviews is because of two things 1. High Expectations 2. Joel Silver for pushing those high expectations beyond reasoning.
I am waiting for the third film to see if that 14 minute sequence is the most complex sequence ever put on film is true or not.
But I beg audiences to save your judgement of this triology until you have seen the final film, then you can really know wether to give this film a thumbs down or up. I know I will.

I admit it, I saw this film only because of Jennifer Love Hewitt. My heart raced when I saw her hike up her skirt to show off her tatoos. Why you ask? because not only did I see a very beautiful body but it was the highlight of a movie that I wished performed better. Perhaps with better writers or actors like Chris Rock, Mike Myers who improv could have breathed some life into this flat film. 2 stars out of five.
