OK, here we have an extremely funny summary of the 25 year run of SNL. Cream of the crop, tip of the top. Excruciatingly entertaining.
But let's talk about the real issue. Why do they only use 2 minutes of Kevin Spacey footage? The man was nominated for an Emmy for his hosting job!! Or at least, I think he was. He should have been. What was I saying?
Oh. Mr. Spacey's performance on SNL was one of the best in recent memory, and yet he is simply glossed over in favor of others like... oh... Sarah Michelle Gellar. This is a sin, and shall be punished when Judgment Day comes.
Seriously though, I highly recommend this special. It's the best of the best SNL sketches, with some entertaining monologues thrown into the mix. See it!

Set in a VA hospital, this movie illustrates what happens when "red tape" gets in the way of helping people. An enjoyable mixture of comedy and drama, it is reminiscent of the Altman classic M*A*S*H, staring Sutherland's father Donald. In fact, there's a nice salute to the elder Sutherland, during a scene between Keifer and an older hospital patient.
Those who didn't "get" this movie were perhaps looking for the wrong things. I won't say this movie was meant to inform, though perhaps it was. But it definitely makes you think. Is a medical system where doctors have to steal supplies and schedule proxy operations really what our country's heroes deserve? Moving and entertaining, I would definitely recommend this movie.

Too "arty" to be mainstream, and too mainstream to be art house fare, this film flounders somewhere in the middle. Apparently trying to say something deep and meaningful about the nature of existence/true love/life after life, Made in Heaven just ends up another piece of drivel, right down to the contrived "main character writes movie's theme song" plot point.
The only thing that kept me watching was a curiosity to see how this weird amalgum of images and sounds turned out. In the end I was disappointed. The film would have done better to embrace its independent spirit for the entire duration of the picture. Instead, it waffles back and forth before finally concluding with an uninspired ending.
