A family with children would love to see this. Recommend if you plan to have a family movie together.
I usually picky and hard on our own local animation, but this one really deserve an international recognition, even if its a film for children. The narrative direction may be simple and quite cliche but i love how Les' Copaque have done with the folklore and the world, no doubt the production quality made the film 10 times better. It's refreshing and new to watch an animation film that are based on our own tradition and fairy tale. And because of that, cant wait to see Les Copaque's next work. Even if its not about Upin & Ipin. keh.
Good Job!

It's actually my first time watching upin ipin movie in theater...I love the scenery of the animation movie, the views are so beautiful, each and every character have their unique actually... Even thought I love upin ipin the most... But I love the part like every situation there go together, there face it together and lots of adventures there did... Worth it watching this movie in theater... The sound effect is damn good..Then another part is, I love the song from this animation movie... I love the part there fight, was damn cool about it.

I'm very picky in terms of production quality of movies/TV series, and this one gets a passing grade from me. It's a vast step-up from previous iteration of Upin Ipin the movie and it is the best that the industry has to offer. It could be better, for instance the animation lacked realism, attention to detail is not there but for the budget, in my opinion they've done extremely well.
Audio on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. While the OSTs are great, voice/spatial arrangement is subpar. Voices get randomly moved from one channel to the other, the transition wasn't graceful at all and it was very disorienting. Some voice acting felt unnatural and lackluster. This is one aspect the local production has to improve a lot.
Story-wise, it was fun and engaging. No noticeable plot holes except for some references to Malay folktales which might affect story/character development for some people.
Overall, this film gives a satisfactory experience and gets a recommendation from me.

The storyline is so good. Combination of several malaysian folklore made me mindblown. I donno how they manage to get an idea for this combination. I really enjoy the movie, feel nostalgia for me. I cant wait to see the next movie from les copaque!

This series of upin ipin movies really getting me goosebumps. just that it kinda me myself watching some local animation for the first time ever eventhough les copaque's movies already been published for some previous before; that i totally forgot about xd. i love the way they act; keep them originality intact, them cute big head kids and all about them. the movies actually got a good adaptation of folklore stories; mat jenin, nujum pak belalang, bawang merah putih etc and did some good mashup between them. it's kinda bit much of a cringey jokes and all, perhaps its for the little one's brain capacity that can handle i guess but yeah its watchable lah. but the story got way escalated so quickly. i think if it were to prolong the story audiences might find it sleepy or some things. its a good peice of art. the vfx of it, its a good start for our local industry to develop bit by bit. they did some good pov on the sands swirling around the air and i think its their main attraction perhaps. good stuff over there guys. eyegasm. xoxo upin ipin

I watched for the first time and I was amazed how good was the story was and the quality of the production is off the scale. Would totally watch it again very very refreshing from watching western type movies
Before I went to watch this film, I met many negative reactions of most people with it, mostly from its series. But for me, Upin Ipin is completely new and I don't have any prejudice here. But after watching it, I found it to be extremely bad, guys, this is the second time I'm disappointed with Malaysian animation :(
What is the movie about? Well, "During a house cleaning, two siblings Upin and Ipin found an ancient sword. It was this item that brought the children to a strange land - the place of a raging evil man. What Upin, Ipin and friends have to do to fight against evil?
Reading here, you probably don't need to speculate too much to know how it go. But even knowing it cliché, filmmakers don't know how to renew, even making it worse. Upin Ipin themself and a ton of other characters also acted and thought unclearly, without a specific goal but running all over the place, making the movie too rambling and much longer. There is no definite effect on the plot, even the smell of time. I feel like having many separate parts is ok, but when paired, it becomes ridiculous. Until the end of the film, more characters come, but because the film already has too many characters, no one is make enough adjustments, very faint and shallow. The only bright spot in the film might probably be the last five minutes with the battle against the villain. The humor of the movie is also extremely small.
About the graphics quality, you can evaluate it when watching the trailer. For me, it's only good for its budget, but compared to other movies, it only reached the average size of the movies now, more than videos on YouTube a bit. The sound and English voice, though sounding quite heroic, is very jarring and it sounds a bit hard to hear.
Finally, if you've seen Endgame, and like Upin Ipin, just go and see, if not, save your money.

Made by local malaysians for the internationals. totally the best. worth every penny and time.
It is a cancer that stold my childhood away. Disney Channel (my favourite one since I was 8) has changed because of it and also some cartoons from Malaysia.
GTFO U&I.

I watched this movie 2 days ago. The animations are perfect, it has a big potential. A big difference than the last Upin & Ipin movie. When it comes to story line, it's a little non-serious but maybe it's good for children audience. The film includes many popular local characters. When I think again that this is a local animated movie, I feel 10 stars are worthy for this movie.

Really love the colors, storyline, and the environment look mystical n colourful like international level. If u see the animal, wow.. U can relate it with our traditional kuih mueh.. Even in this movie they put legendary folklore characters. Really nostalgic n yet really adventurous. Gonna repeat this movie again!!

Mediocre at best, I personally don't see anything special about this movie but at least the visuals were nice.
Good movie, good story line and the perfect movie for family. Not just for kids..

Absolutely loved it! Not only was the soundtrack amazing, but I loved seeing how far the Les Copaque studio have come since their first Upin Ipin debut, in terms of animation!
The songs were awesome and the characters are endearing. My only hung up was that there were a few plotholes where I can see that the studio would have been able to fill if they only had more time for the movie.
But overall, I will repeat myself, I absolutely LOVED IT.

Good movie, for kids mostly and adults enjoy it too. Most important, kids really into it and their focus was not like other movies before because now, they really focus and don't easily get bored.

This movie use back popular-almost forgotten Malay folklore's characters, which is good so that it will be remembered by today's kids. keep up the good work and you can achieve Pixar/Disney standard.
