Crunchyroll is officially announcing today that the upcoming anime adaptation of Kenta Shinohara’s manga Witch Watch will stream on the platform when it premieres in April 2025! The anime series previously announced in December 2024 that it will run for two continuous cours. The adaptation of the Yuto Suzuki’s action manga brought in 8.6 million views in its debut week, ranking as the #2 non-English TV show, just behind Squid Game Season 2, and #4 overall across all categories.

Sakamoto Days‘ premiere outperforms the previous record-holder, Baki Hanma Season 2, which peaked at 6.0 million views during its release.

The series also outperformed recent non-exclusive anime titles on Netflix, such as Dandadan (4.3M views) and Dragon Ball Daima (3.2M views). However, these titles gained the majority of their viewership on Crunchyroll, the preferred platform for anime streaming in most regions.

The official website of AnimeJapan 2025 revealed the line-ups for its main stages on Jan 17, 2025.

This year’s event will feature four main stages—Red, Green, Blue, and the newly introduced White stage, hosting a total of 52 programs over two days.

An overview of the stages can be viewed below:

Red Stage & Green Stage: These are closed stages with designated seating. Attendees will need both an admission ticket and a stage viewing ticket to watch programs on these stages. Blue Stage & White Stage: These are open stages. The front-row seats for viewing will be designated seating, requiring both an admission ticket and a stage viewing ticket. However, free viewing areas are available at the back, though space is limited.

It was also revealed that some stage programs will be streamed online. Further details about the streaming schedule and availability will be revealed in the coming weeks.

In a recent interview with Comic Natalie, voice actor Tomikazu Sugita opened up about his initial hesitation to take on the lead role of Sakamoto in Sakamoto Days anime.

His reason? A sense of déjà vu tied to his past work.

Sugita admitted that while he was aware of the manga’s buzz as a rising Weekly Shonen Jump hit, he was hesitant to take on the role due to similarities with a character he had played before.

“I had already played a protagonist in a similar position in a Jump anime before, so I had that in mind, and it felt a bit like déjà vu.“

When the audition opportunity arose, he initially focused on another character, Kashima. However, his agency strongly encouraged him to also consider Sakamoto.

Toho Animation has dropped the main trailer for Dr. Stone Season 4, titled Science Future.

Following their escape from Dr. Stanley’s clutches and forging an alliance between the Brody Group and the Kingdom of Science in the previous season, Senku and his team are now on their way to South America.

The upcoming season is expected to adapt the final five arcs of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s manga: New America City, South America, New Stone World, Globetrotting, and Moon Mission.

Senku and his allies will face the dark side’s science master in a thrilling conclusion of the fourth and final season.

The trailer introduces the season’s main villain, Stanley Snyder, and teases the arrival of a new antagonist: Dr. Xeno Houston Wingfield (voiced by Kenji Nojima).

With the fall season now ending, Dr Stone Science Future is preparing to usher in winter and a new year with an exciting new multipart season that will conclude one of the biggest anime in recent years. As the countdown to the release date keeps going down, a new trailer has been released to fan the hype.

The official website for the Dr. Stone anime has just released the main trailer for the series' fourth and final season, and it's thrilling. The trailer features the main villain, Stanley Snyder, and showcases the main cast as they battle against him while continuing their quest to build a rocket. This season will be divided into three parts, and it has been confirmed that the first part of Dr. Stone: Science Future will begin airing on January 9, 2025. It is expected to run for approximately 11 to 12 episodes, which has been consistent with the series' previous seasons.

Shōnen Jump has long since made a name for itself as the biggest manga magazine in the world. Not only has it consistently had the highest circulation of any manga magazine in Japan, but it’s birthed some of the most iconic manga of all time like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach, so there’s no denying how big it is to the world of anime and manga.

Some of history’s most iconic manga came out of Shōnen Jump, but that can’t be said for every one of their works. In addition to Shōnen Jump manga that were canceled too soon, some manga, even when they do get a chance to tell their stories properly, never leave much of an impact on people, so whatever the case, plenty of great Shōnen Jump manga were unceremoniously forgotten due to how little impact they left during or after their runs.

Netflix started streaming a new trailer for Sakamoto Days on Nov 4, 2024, featuring the opening theme song Run Sakamoto Run by Vaundy.

The new trailer will be welcome news for fans who have been waiting to catch a glimpse of how the anime will shape up.

Sakamoto Days anime is scheduled to release in two parts on the platform, with the first part, consisting of 11 episodes, releasing on Jan 11, 2025. A new episode will air each week.

The second part will start airing in July 2025.

Sakamoto Days is one of the biggest manga running in Shnen Jump right now, and thats created a lot of hype for its upcoming anime. The manga boasts some of the most creative and all-around gorgeous action of any shnen manga, so if a competent anime studio found a way to bring that to life, it would solidify Sakamoto Days reputation as one of the best manga someone could read.

Theres been incredible hype for the Sakamoto Days anime, but thats started dying down for the worst reasons. Some isekai worlds are dark, brutal, and unforgiving, making the main character wish they could go back home. Dark isekai is a newer addition to the wider genre of isekai, and it doesn't have too many entrants. Most isekai series focus on the brighter side of life and give their characters fun powers in their vibrant new worlds. Shonen manga, especially battle Shonen, usually involve characters who want to get stronger in what they do compared to others. Whether it is martial arts, sports, or even in the field of acting (like the case of Oshi No Ko), the main characters strive to get better at something while aiming to beat their competition. And that’s usually the approach Shonen mangaka have adopted since “working hard to achieve one’s goals and become the best” seems like a good message to their readers.

However, the problem with modern material is that the main characters are already equipped with plot armor and they are written in such a way that they will achieve their goals, no matter what. This is the case, especially for those in the Isekai genre. The MCs are already overpowered and fans merely read about their escapades, basically just annihilating their competition.

The official X account of Dr. Stone unveiled a new Pv for the fourth and final season of the anime, titled Dr. Stone: Science Future, on Oct 18, 2024.

The Pv also revealed that Dr. Stone season 4 will start airing in January 2025.
