Chadwick Boseman was a talented actor best known for playing T’Challa, the superhero Black Panther, in Marvel’s MCU. He first appeared as Black Panther in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016) and later starred in the hugely popular ‘Black Panther’ (2018).
His performance as T’Challa was praised for bringing strength, dignity, and inspiration, especially as it showcased a powerful African superhero to the world. ‘Black Panther’ and by extension Boseman as T’Challa became important cultural heroes.
Boseman continued to play the role in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ Sadly, he passed away in 2020 after battling colon cancer after 4 years of struggle, but his portrayal of Black Panther left a lasting legacy in film and culture.
Following Chadwick Boseman’s passing, Marvel Studios chose not to recast T’Challa out of respect for the actor, who inspired millions through his portrayal of the character. Instead, in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,...

2025 has already happened in the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and included some of the most game-changing events in the franchise's history. While the early projects of the MCU were set primarily in the years in which they were released, this went through some significant changes following Avengers: Endgame's five-year time jump. 2019's Endgame was set primarily in 2023, and the MCU timeline is still running ahead, meaning while 2025 has only just started for us, it's already happened in the MCU.
Marvel Studios' official timeline book clearly explains all the major events of 2025, spanning many of Phase 4's projects, including She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While the MCU now seems to be exploring 2026, leading up to Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, 2025 was a huge year for the world of the MCU. New MCU heroes stepped up to the plate,...

Marvel Studios has the perfect opportunity to finally bring a missing element from T'Challa's costume into the MCU if the Black Panther is recast. T'Challa is one of Marvel's most notable and important superheroes, which made him an instant favorite in the MCU when the late Chadwick Boseman brought T'Challa's Black Panther to life in Captain America: Civil War. Boseman's sudden passing in 2020 led to T'Challa being written out of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, however, leaving a huge void in the MCU.
According to insider Jeff Sneider, Marvel Studios is "firmly open" to recasting T'Challa's Black Panther in the MCU. This was avoided in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as the sequel instead dealt directly with the cast, crew and audience's grief of losing both Chadwick Boseman and T'Challa, but, now, the exploration of the multiverse means a new T'Challa can debut in the MCU. This new iteration could be vastly different from Boseman's version,...

The Producers Guild of America anointed Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, A Real Pain, September 5, The Substance, and Wicked as its contenders for Best Picture on Thursday, solidifying those films Oscar hopes. The guild announcement came six days later than originally planned due to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) unveiled its 2025 Awards nominees on Thursday, honoring an eclectic slate of films poised to dominate this year’s Oscar race.
Among the 10 nominees for the coveted Darryl F. Zanuck Award for outstanding producer of theatrical motion pictures are Sean Baker’s poignant dramedy “Anora,” Brady Corbet’s meticulously crafted historical epic “The Brutalist,” Edward Berger’s religious thriller “Conclave,” Jacques Audiard’s genre-bending musical “Emilia Pérez” and Jon M. Chu’s glittering adaptation of “Wicked.”
Perhaps the most unexpected entry in this year’s list is Tim Fehlbaum’s indie thriller “September 5.” The high-stakes dystopian drama, acquired by Paramount Pictures after generating buzz at Venice and Telluride, edged out high-profile contenders like RaMell Ross’ “Nickel Boys” and Greg Kwedar’s prison drama “Sing Sing.” The nod for “September 5” marks a significant moment for the underdog film, which now finds itself in the best picture conversation.

Michael B. Jordan is already part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he now has a chance to play his dream superhero, and that role could allow the actor to make up for a past disaster he appeared in. Throughout the years, Marvel Studios has managed to cast several talented Hollywood stars into key roles in the MCU. Jordan was one of those, with the actor giving life to Killmonger in 2018's Black Panther, one of the McU's best movies. Since debuting in the MCU, the actor has gone on to play different versions of Killmonger.
Jordan would return as the main Killmonger in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Instead of seeing her brother when she consumes the Heart-Shaped Herb, Shuri sees Killmonger, as she also seeks power to take revenge on those who hurt her and her family, just like Jordan's MCU villain did. Marvel Studios may soon recast T'Challa's Black Panther in the MCU, and this new version of the iconic Wakandan hero could appear as soon as 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. T'Challa made his first appearance in the MCU back in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman. Boseman's tragic and sudden passing in 2020 spurred Ryan Coogler to also write T'Challa out of 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and while Letitia Wright's Shuri stepped up as the new Black Panther, recent reports suggest T'Challa may be returning.
Chadwick Boseman appeared in four live-action feature films as T'Challa's Black Panther, had a posthumous cameo in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and also posthumously loaned his voice to four episodes of What If...?. Many wanted T'Challa to be recast following Boseman's passing, but Marvel instead elected to kill off the Black Panther, leaving a huge void in the MCU.

A new T'Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could end up leading to a Black Panther twist to the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man moment where he saves Zendaya's Mj in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Chadwick Boseman made Black Panther one of the most popular heroes in the MCU. While the actor would sadly not stay in the franchise for as long as expected, Boseman was part of some of the best movies in the MCU. The actor died in 2020 after battling with colon cancer. Marvel did not recast the role.
Instead, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever made T'Challa's death the starting point of the movie. The project was led by Letitia Wright, with Shuri succeeding her brother as the McU's Black Panther. The character is expected to be back for the confirmed Black Panther 3 and more. However, there is a chance that Shuri might not be the McU's Black Panther for long,...

Black Panther has dominated headlines this week. It all started when the news broke that Marvel Studios is reportedly looking to cast a new T'Challa, with the prevailing theory being that the Multiverse Saga will somehow age up Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Toussaint.
Regardless of whether it's T'Challa II or a Multiversal Variant, the news that Black Panther will live to fight another day has pleased most fans. Following in the late Chadwick Boseman's footsteps will not be easy, but the majority seem ready to see another actor honour his and the character's legacy.
After revealing some of the names Marvel Studios is eying for the McU's new T'Challa yesterday, scooper @MyTimeToShineH today brings word that "[The] new T'Challa will first [appear] in the Avengers movies then Black Panther 3."

Over the years, Marvel has had a nice balance of unknowns, rising stars, and Hollywood legends in the MCU. This has led to some of the McU's best movies, with the mix of talents making the MCU a popular franchise that many Hollywood stars want to join.
Recently, Harrison Ford made waves after not only joining the MCU but playing Red Hulk of all characters. It is evident that working at Marvel Studios is not only massive financially for actors, but also quite fun, as Ford said that was the reason he wanted to join the MCU. Chadwick Boseman was one of the McU's most beloved actors. With rumours continuing to swirl about Marvel Studios' plans to cast a new T'Challa for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we may finally have a clearer idea of who will lead the Black Panther franchise moving forward.

When Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020 following a hard-fought battle with cancer, the world was left reeling. Beyond his role as T’Challa in the MCU, the actor’s star was on the rise and, down the road, it was easy to picture him finding huge success across both mainstream blockbuster fare and during awards season. Tragically, we never got to see any of that become a reality.
Marvel Studios decided that sidelining the Black Panther franchise and Wakanda would be a disservice to Boseman and forged ahead with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Rather than recast the role, T’Challa died off-screen and his sister Shuri inherited the mantle. In the sequel’s closing moments, we met the fallen King’s son, Toussaint, who we’d later learn shared the "T’Challa" name. Michael B. Jordan has a Marvel superhero he has been dreaming of playing since he was a child, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now made that casting possible seven years after his debut in the franchise. Jordan is no stranger to superhero films. He has played two Marvel characters in the past. First, the actor gave life to Johnny Storm in 2015's ill-received Fantastic Four. After that, Jordan found success as Killmonger in Black Panther, being a key element of one of the McU's best movies.

Lupita Nyong’o went viral on social media without doing a thing.
The 2022 Oscars will go down in history not for awarding artists for their excellence but for what went down between Will Smith and Chris Rock. On March 27, 2022, Chris Rock made the decision to make a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith and her shaved head, which is a result of a medical condition known as alopecia. Unfortunately, Will Smith couldn’t control his reaction and ended up shocking the entire world, including Lupita Nyong’o.

The multiverse has made room for a lot of unlikely reinventions, but murmurs that the late actor’s iconic character may be reworked with a new star could prove controversial
Marvel’s multiverse has become a narrative Swiss army knife capable of slicing through the thorniest of creative dilemmas and papering over the widest of cracks. That said, few dilemmas are as sensitive as how to move forward with a superhero as iconic as Black Panther. Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa wasn’t just a performance – it was a cultural touchstone, woven so tightly into the fabric of modern blockbuster cinema that imagining anyone else in the role feels like attempting to rewrite history. Four years after Boseman’s untimely death from colon cancer, Marvel faces the delicate task of continuing a legacy that seems impossible to replicate.

After Recent T’Challa Recasting Reports, I’m Worried About The Future Of The MCU’s New Black Panther
New reports suggest T'Challa's Black Panther will be recast in the MCU, but this news has me worried about Shuri. The late Chadwick Boseman first brought T'Challa into the MCU in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, and was set up to be one of the central characters in the MCU for years to come. Unfortunately, Boseman's sudden 2020 passing made this impossible, but we saw a new Black Panther take his place in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I loved seeing Letitia Wright's Shuri step up, but I'm now worried about her future in the MCU.

Earlier this week, we shared a rumor that Marvel Studios might be planning to introduce a new take on T'Challa to the MCU.
The initial report (via Jeff Sneider) suggested that Kevin Feige and co. were searching for a new actor to play a variant of the same character the late Chadwick Boseman portrayed, but it seems more likely that the studio is actually in the process of casting an actor for the role of the original T'Challa's son, who was introduced at the end of Wakanda Forever.
Whatever the case may be, it appears quite a few actors believe that accepting the role would be akin to replacing Boseman, and either feel it would be disrespectful to the beloved actor, or simply don't want the responsibility of filling those particular shoes.

‘Eyes of Wakanda’ is an exciting new four-episode animated series coming to Disney+ on August 6, 2025. Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will act as a two-act ending to the story, just as the previous two Avengers movie wrapped up the Infinity Saga.
The irony is that some of these projects may end up being movies or TV shows that were initially expected to be a part of the Multiverse Saga but, for one reason or another, just never made it to the screen before Doctor Doom's showdown with the Avengers took form. That could mean there will be some tinkering needed, but it will be worth it if these projects come to fruition.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe relies just as heavily on its villains to succeed as it does the heroes, dreaming up some terrifyingly strong threats for The Avengers and company to take down. The MCU would truly be nothing without its powerful villains, which push the boundaries of how powerful an antagonist in a comic book film can be while still keeping the action somewhat grounded. Even if many Marvel villains have been disappointing, the series has gotten away with some profoundly powerful antagonists over the years.
The villains of the MCU vary wildly in terms of raw power. As the MCU timeline progressed, the series became more and more comfortable introducing powerful magic users, aliens whose threat spans the entire galaxy, and even primordial beings that have existed since the dawn of time. Whether they're an alien despot, an interdimensional warlord, or a literal god, Marvel's villains come with some...

Earlier today, we reported on a rumor that Marvel Studios might be planning to introduce a new take on T'Challa to the MCU.
It was generally assumed that Kevin Feige and co. were searching for a new actor to play a variant of the same character the late Chadwick Boseman portrayed, but this may not be the case.
According to Mttsh, the studio is actually in the process of casting an actor for the role of Black Panther's son (also named T'Challa), who was introduced at the end of Wakanda Forever.
The studio is said to have met with a few actors already, and one would be "sure to piss people off" if he landed the part (take from that what you will).
The 2022 sequel concluded with Shuri (Letitia Wright) meeting her nephew, the son T'Challa had with Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o).

Marvel Studios Casting Director Sarah Finn never misses and Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther remains one of her greatest finds.
The actor sadly passed away in 2020 after battling cancer and Marvel Studios ultimately decided against recasting the role. Instead, the hero died off-screen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and his younger sister, Shuri, inherited the mantle.
Boseman played the hero in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame; following in his footsteps won't be easy and it appears at least one actor was wary of attempting to do so after being offered the role
In Jeff Sneider's full report, we learn that Marvel Studios approached at least one Hollywood star last year to take over as T'Challa, only to be turned down. It also doesn't sound like this new version - widely believed to be an aged-up Toussaint, Black Panther and Nakia's...

The SAG Awards’ 2025 nominations have not made an already up-in-the-air Oscar race much clearer.
While there was much anticipation that “Wicked” would fare well with the voting body composed of Screen Actors Guild members, star Jonathan Bailey being nominated for Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture is not something that was on too many people’s radars.
Even more of a curveball are the nominations for “The Last Showgirl” stars Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis, even if hindsight being 20/20, it has been evident how well liked the pair are by their peers. Remember, the SAG Awards are what teed up Curtis to win her Oscar for “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” in what was a close race between her, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” star Angela Bassett, and “The Banshees of Inisherin” breakout Kerry Condon.
All of this is to say, while the rest of the...

Can we make 2025 the year where we don’t let trolls and haters make a dent on our mental health? Recent events show that Rihanna is well ahead of us on that head.
When a troll spit acid at her, she poured fire right back at them, and real fans approved. I know I did.
Rihanna Says Troll “Ain’t Cute Enough” After He Demanded An Album
Yes, we all want a Rihanna album, but not badly enough that we have to be rude about it.
And while Rihanna has often joked about her “forehead,” calling it “big” during one of her Fenty makeup videos, it doesn’t mean we’re allowed to join in on the joke, as one fan clearly found out.
This remarkable exchange went down after the ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ hitmaker shared a New Year Eve’s video where she is seen partying with friends.

Yesterday evening, a rumour hit social media claiming that Marvel Studios is making moves to recast Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa. The news has received a mixed response, though many fans are eager to see the character back on screen.
After Boseman passed away, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever confirmed that T'Challa had also died. Shuri inherited the mantle and the sequel ended by revealing the hero secretly had a son with Nakia, a young boy also named T'Challa.
While Avengers: Secret Wars' Black Panther may be a Variant, we think Toussaint is going to be aged up before picking up where his father left off in the Mutant Saga. With all that in mind, we're now taking a look at the actors who could take over this role in the MCU.
You can check out our top suggestions by clicking on the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

The shocking and sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman shook up the MCU fanbase as the actor was coming off of a big run in the universe with his debut in Captain America: Civil War, fighting alongside other superheroes in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and of course, establishing himself in the solo franchise of Black Panther. When it came time to follow up Black Panther with a sequel, the creatives had an incredibly tough assignment. One thing’s for certain: Kevin Feige wasn’t ready to recast T’Challa, as he said, “It just felt like it was much too soon to recast. Stan Lee always said that Marvel represents the world outside your window. And we had talked about how, as extraordinary and fantastical as our characters and stories are, there’s a relatable and human element to everything we do. The world is still processing the loss of Chad.

Five years after the death of Chadwick Boseman, Marvel Studios may be planning to introduce a new take on T'Challa to the MCU.
There was a lot of debate about how the studio may intend to proceed with a sequel to Black Panther following Boseman's tragic passing back in August of 2020, and the decision was ultimately made to forge ahead with Wakanda Forever and have another character take up the mantle.
T'Challa's little sister always seemed like the most obvious choice, and Shuri (Letitia Wright) ended up honouring her late brother and mother (Angela Bassett) by suiting-up as Wakanda's new protector.
While the majority of fans felt that this was the most respectful way to proceed, some hoped to see a new actor in the role of T'Challa, and it seems Kevin Feige and co. now agree that enough time has passed.

Instead, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,...

Marvel’s What If...? isn’t just about posing fun questions—it’s about diving into the unimaginable. It shows how one small decision can completely change everything we know about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some alternate realities explore fresh takes on heroism, while the darker ones remind us why certain paths are best left untraveled.
Although What If...? did come to an end after three seasons due to its connection to the Multiverse Saga, there is the hope that the concept could be revived at some point to continue telling these intriguing standalone stories.
Any potential future version of What If...? could delve into even darker alternate realities. From doomed alliances to devastating betrayals, these six scenarios take fan-favorite characters to their limits. Each story examines the delicate balance that holds the Marvel Universe together—and how breaking it could lead to total collapse.

Last November, we learned that Marvel Studios had reportedly given up on producing a Young Avengers movie. Instead, the focus has reportedly shifted to bringing the Champions to Disney+.
It's hard to deny that the moment for the Young Avengers to assemble has passed. Fans have pointed out for years that the characters who fit under that umbrella are ageing up quickly, and the clear lack of focus in the Multiverse Saga's early stages did little to get them where they needed to be for a team-up.
The search for a Champions showrunner has, however, begun and the main reason we're getting a movie instead of a TV show is supposedly down to The Marvels underperforming at the box office last year.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has also discussed the importance of protecting the Avengers brand and a Young Avengers spin-off that doesn't live up to expectations would risk tarnishing the main event movies.

The new year is here which means it will bring new opportunities and possibilities, and probably, Marvel Studios will get to redeem themselves. They saw a steep downfall in the last few years, and thanks to the Hollywood strike, there was only one blockbuster hit in 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine, among all the releases.
Last year, two series, Echo and Agatha All Along, and two animated series, What If…? season 3 and X-Men ’97 also premiered. But what’s in store for Marvel fans next year?

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

Will Smith's desire to portray a superhero could be satisfied in Black Panther 3, and I'm sure there's an MCU role that he could perfectly portray. Black Panther 3 has finally been confirmed after more than two years of silence from Marvel Studios following the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November 2022. Confirmation that Black Panther 3 would be going ahead came after longtime Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore parted ways with the studio in December, with Moore confirming that he would be working on the sequel in an external capacity.
This isn't all we've heard about the progress of Black Panther 3. Confirmation that the project would be going ahead came soon after Denzel Washington let slip that he was asked to work on the movie. Denzel Washington's Black Panther 3 role is to be confirmed, but it has opened up a wider conversation about who else may pick up a role...

After a fairly alright 2024, the Marvel Cinematic Universe braces itself as the superhero world steps into the new year with new projects. From Marvel’s First Family and a villainous team-up to Peter Parker’s origin story and the adventures of our favorite lawyer/vigilante, Marvel sure has cooked up some fascinating titles for us this year. Now, the question is, will it be New Year, New MCU, or will the superhero universe once again fall victim to mediocre, underwhelming projects? Only time will tell.

No original Avenger is confirmed for Marvel's 2025 lineup, but one needs to appear to resolve a glaring story issue. 12 years after The Avengers, only a few of the original team are still active in the MCU timeline. Iron Man and Black Widow sacrificed themselves to defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and Captain America retired with Peggy Carter. Thor, Bruce Banner, and Hawkeye are the only original MCU Avengers left, and they still have more to do. However, it's unknown when these characters will return next.
The McU's 2025 lineup includes three movies and three Disney+ shows. Thor, Hulk, and Hawkeye aren't expected in any of these projects, but Hawkeye has connections to Thunderbolts* and Daredevil. While Hawkeye wouldn't have a starring role, the character needs to return in 2025 to address the narrative ties he has to these two projects.

Warning! This post contains Spoilers for What If...? Season 3Ironheart's multiple delays have just become even weirder for the MCU at the end of 2024. Originally debuting in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ahead of her solo series, Riri Williams' Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) is a young and gifted engineer who creates her very own suit of armor, inspired by Tony Stark's Iron Man. However, the delays of said solo series have created some brand-new strangeness for the MCU.
In 2022's Wakanda Forever, Riri becomes the center of a major conflict between Wakanda and Namor's underwater city of Talokan after she creates a device capable of detecting vibranium. Helping the Wakandans who protected her from Namor, Riri built an impressive suit of armor using Wakandan technology based on her original prototype suit, though she was unable to take it with her back to MIT at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Even though Marvel Studios is still refusing to make Agents of Shield canon to the MCU, What If...? season 3 just reimagined one of the popular ABC series' most game-changing storylines that began back in December 2017. What If...? season 3 brought the animated Multiverse Saga to a close by exploring some of the weirdest and most outlandish new universes in the MCU. One of these new worlds was an Earth ravaged by the emergence of the Celestial Tiamut, ruled over by Spider-Man villain Mysterio, which was reminiscent of an old Agents of Shield storyline.

Marvel decided to take a break from rushing their way into releasing many, many projects a year to ensure the likes of Deadpool & Wolverine, Agatha All Along, and What If...? Season 3 could be the best they could. On the other hand, DC has been undergoing a major creative reboot that will kick-start in 2025, meaning we've seen next to nothing from them in the lead-up. It's been a quiet year, for sure, but all of that will finally change in 2025.
There's plenty to be excited about over the next few months. Big-screen releases including James Gunn's Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps are among fans' most anticipated projects as they'll shine the spotlight on some of comic books' most beloved characters. However, that's not to say only movie theaters will be getting highly-anticipated content. The small screen will be...

Earlier this year, it was revealed that frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. Coogler has written the script for this project, which is called Sinners and has been described as both a genre picture and a period piece. The project is set up at Warner Bros., has a budget of around $90 million, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 18, 2025 (having moved back from a previously announced March release date). Over the holidays, a new teaser (which still has the old release date) was unveiled, as embedded at the top of the article.
Directed by Coogler with Jordan playing dual roles, Sinners has the following official synopsis: Trying to leave their troubled lives behind,...

The MCU has grown so large over the years that many actors who've appeared in different series have also appeared in the superhero franchise - which is notably true for 15 actors who also had roles in Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror. Marvel Studios has had fantastic success when it comes to casting of the universe, with some actors being essentially synonymous with their characters at this point. Another interesting aspect of Marvel Studios is their ability to bring in prestigious actors for smaller parts, or one-off roles, as well.
With the massive upcoming MCU release schedule, there will probably be even more incredible actors joining the ranks, and it is nice to see where they have been before. MCU actors come from all over the place in the movie and television industry, and continue to after their time as a comic book character is up. Still, one show that stands...

Warning! This article contains spoilers for What If...? season 3, episode 6.
What If...? just introduced a powerful new villain to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but their on-screen debut won't be until later in 2025. What If...? is one of the most unique shows that has ever been made for the MCU. The entire animated series revolves around a set of odd variables which take the familiar heroes of the MCU and put them into new and unusual settings.
Sometimes, that leads to stories about the heroes becoming zombies, or someone else being given power that was initially a side character in the Sacred Timeline. However, whatever the result, all of these eventualities are closely monitored by the ever-present Watcher. And in What If...? season 3, the show debuted one of the villains who is set to join the MCU in 2025, but the character was very different to what is currently being set up in the MCU.

Warning! This post contains Spoilers for What If...? Season 3, episode 5The McU's Riri Williams gets a better suit of armor than all of Tony Stark's Iron Man suits in What If...? season 3 episode 5. Across ten MCU appearances, Tony Stark created more than fifty Iron Man armors, each more advanced than the last. Stark's Iron Man armors went from a bulky suit equipped with flamethrowers to a modular set of interlocking pieces to a nanotech mass of shape-shifting equipment in the span of fifteen years. By the time Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame, Iron Man was already powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with Thanos.
Shortly after Iron Man's death, Riri Williams gained recognition from the authorities and the Wakandan royalty due to her genius-level intellect and her creation of suits of armor similar to Tony Stark's. Riri's efforts earned her a highly advanced armor designed by the Wakandans,...

2024 has been a mixed bag for comic book movies, though Deadpool & Wolverine went a long way in making up for the disappointment caused by Joker: Folie à Deux and Kraven the Hunter, for example.
For Marvel Studios, 2025 will still see the release of 10 big and small screen titles both in theaters and on Disney+ (courtesy of Marvel Television and Marvel Animation) as we race towards the end of the Multiverse Saga.
As for DC Studios, it's going to be a slightly more low-key 365 days, though the one movie and TV show we're getting promise to be huge for the new Dcu. Now, as this year winds down, we thought it would be a good time to remind you of everything heading our way in 2025. That includes details on what to expect and when you'll see them.
