Industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed on John Rocha’s The Hot Mic that Natalie Portman filmed scenes for ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ while working on MCU’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’ However, the footage featuring her as Padmé did not make it into the final version of the show.

Last week, Disney spiked the proverbial football by announcing that across its various streaming platforms, it had 157 million global ad-supported streaming customers. However, according to a new survey from Tvb, Disney still has some work to do if it wants to convert even more customers to more profitable subscription plans. Tvb, a trade association comprised of members from the American broadcast TV industry, said that more than 50% of customers to Disney+, Netflix, and Max are still using ad-free streaming plans.

Key Details: The survey found 61% of Netflix subscribers are still ad-free. Fifty-three percent of Disney+ customers are still ad-free, and 57% of Max customers don’t see commercials. Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of several recent Star Wars shows that were originally movies. In Obi-Wan Kenobi's case, this really would have meant another story entirely, as the scrapped Obi-Wan Kenobi trilogy had a completely different plot than the show.

The trilogy, which would have been written by Stuart Beattie, was going to see Obi-Wan encounter Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader again, but in the movies, he would have believed Anakin was able to return to the light side of the Force. Obi-Wan Kenobi episodes 2 and 3 saw the reclusive Jedi Master head to the planet Daiyu, where the con-man Haja arranged for a Force-sensitive child to escape to the planet Corellia. Attentive viewers noticed the child's name was "Corran," and immediately suspected he was in fact the future Legends Jedi Corran Horn. Ewan McGregor is keeping hopes alive about a potential second season for the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

During an appearance at L.A. Comic-Con, the actor hinted that Disney and Lucasfilm are “exploring” potential ideas featuring the Jedi Master.

“Obviously, between the end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and when Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi, there’s got to be another few stories in there,” he said during the panel.

McGregor played the Jedi in all three Star Wars prequels and the Disney+ limited series released in 2022. Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place ten years before the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, starts, with Alec Guinness playing the Jedi.

As far as what McGregor would like to do in the Star Wars universe, he said, “There’s a couple of things. I’d quite like to wear that armor. I was speaking to someone earlier from the Clone Wars.

The actor attended a panel at LA Comic Con yesterday, where his co-star Hayden Christensen was also in attendance. Along with McGregor and Christensen, the cast of The Mandalorian, including Ming-Na Wen, Giancarlo Esposito, and Emily Swallow, were also in the house.

McGregor made his desire to do Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 crystal clear and reiterated his hopes of working with Hayden Christensen again.

McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi was last seen in Season 1 of his self-titled series back in 2021. Despite Ewan McGregor sharing his excitement to potentially get to play the character again, word has been any sort of follow-up was not happening.
