The first time he goes back to explain things to his dad, Dad asks him if he saw himself riding away on the Vespa, not long after that he tells Dad that the Vespa has been stolen and dad freaks out a little bit about that news.
When Ricky rides into town he passes a young lady he beeps his horn and she starts running behind him, the very next scene she is seen approaching him from the front.
Early into the movie when Sam is riding the Vespa down the highway, one hears the engine revving yet he is going very slowly and not accelerating.
