Steve Guttenberg was the last cast member interviewed. He provided so much information that producers decided that the narrative had to be rewritten and the documentary re-edited from scratch, to accommodate the three hours of content given by Guttenberg.
A year after the majority of the cast interviews were filmed, Steve Guttenberg was finally persuaded to participate by Adam F. Goldberg, after Adam gave Steve a recurring role on The Goldbergs.
Marion Ramsey, Rene Auberjonois, Art Metrano and Paul Maslansky were interviewed for the documentary, but passed away before its release.
Donovan Scott filmed home-movies during the filming of Loca academia de policía (1984). According to Steve Guttenberg in his biography, "The Guttenberg Bible", there is a "very funny, touching, and unreleased documentary that he made of the shoot." Some of this footage will be seen publicly for the first time in this documentary.
