The CW has put together a fall schedule full of international series and unscripted formats alongside scripted returner All American, while Walker is moving to midseason.

The move is not a huge surprise given the company’s recent acquisition by Nexstar amid plans to lean into lower cost programming.

Decisions are yet to be made on the three outstanding dramas Gotham Knights, Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming, although more information is expected to emerge during the network’s Upfront presentation later this morning.

Supernatural star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has officially offered his support to The Winchesters, urging the show to be saved after its cancellation. A Supernatural prequel spinoff, The Winchesters follows a young John and Mary Winchester in the 1970s, as the two explore their budding romance while saving the world from supernatural monsters. The series premiered in October 2022, with the final episode aired in March 2023. Recently, the CW announced that it had cancelled The Winchesters after only one season.

In a comment on producer Daneel Ackles' Instagram post, Morgan implored fans to show their love for The Winchesters, hoping the spinoff will find a new home with another studio. Morgan wished the cast and crew the best of luck, expanding that The Winchesters "deserve[s] another 19 seasons." See the original post and Morgan's comment below:

The CW has saved a show that another network has cancelled, even though it is cancelling most of its own original programming. Under Nexstar's new leadership (the largest local broadcast television group in the U.S.), the channel has moved away from its reputation as a teen drama haven. Instead, The CW has favored acquiring low-cost series outside the U.S. and sports content like golf. As a direct consequence of these changes, shows like The Winchesters and Legacies have been axed.

According to Deadline, The CW has opted to save 61st Street season 2. The legal drama, which stars Courtney B. Vance and Aunjanue Ellis, was cancelled by AMC in January 2023 as part of a cost-saving move. Both seasons will now air on The CW in partnership with AMC. The CW is saying goodbye to two beloved dramas.

The network on Thursday canceled The Winchesters and Kung Fu, and fans won't be getting conclusions for either show.

Kung Fu recently wrapped its third season on the network.

Series star Olivia Liang took to Instagram to say goodbye to the show.

“It has been the honor of my f–king life to work with this group of humans,” she wrote.

“We made a historic three seasons of a show. First predominantly Asian cast in a one-hour network drama. First Asian American female showrunner."

Olivia Liang took to Instagram today to express her disappointment at Kung Fu’s cancellation by the CW after three seasons, but also her thanks to the people who made the series possible.

In Kung Fu, a reboot of the classic series, Liang played protagonist Nicky Shen who uses her martial arts skills to protect her city from evil-doers.

“Looks like we got work to do,” writes The Winchesters executive producer and narrator Jensen Ackles on Twitter Thursday. Ackles has taken to social media in an effort to mobilize Supernatural fans on a campaign to find the canceled Supernatural prequel a new home.

The CW announced The Winchesters cancellation earlier today, along with Kung Fu.

Supernatural alum Ackles reprised his role as Dean in the CW series and served as executive producer.

Knowing cancellation was likely coming, The Winchesters studio Warner Bros. Television has been preparing to look for a new home, and plans to be aggressive in its efforts, we hear.

The CW has cancelled the supernatural martial arts series after three seasons, TVLine has learned. The Season 3 finale — which is now the series finale — aired on Wednesday, March 8. (The network also axed on Thursday the Supernatural prequel The Winchesters.)

The CW is leaving the Wild West behind, cancelling Walker Independence after just one season, TVLine has confirmed. Earlier today, the mothership series Walker was renewed for a 13-episode Season 4.

Walker Independence‘s freshman season averaged 950,000 total viewers and a 0.1 demo rating (with Live+7 playback). Out of the 14 dramas that The CW aired this TV season, it ranks No. 4 in audience and is an eight-way tie for sixth in the demo.

Cordell Walker will remain on The CW payroll for the 2023-24 season.

After months of uncertainty, Walker was renewed for Season 4 on Tuesday afternoon.

“Over the past three seasons, Walker has become the top performing series on The CW with a passionate fanbase and a fantastic cast and creative team led by Jared Padalecki, who has now been a leading man on the network for over twenty years,” The CW’s President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz said in a statement.

“As we build a great big new future for The CW, we are thrilled to be staying in business with our partners at CBS Studios and we cannot wait to have Walker back on the schedule.”

Added Padalecki, who also serves as an exec producer: “I’m so excited and grateful to continue the Walker legacy for another season alongside our partners at CBS Studios and The CW."

The CW on Tuesday announced that it has renewed Jared Padalecki drama Walker for a fourth season consisting of only 13 episodes, its lowest order to date. The reboot of the 1990s Western joins All American on The CW’s schedule for next season as sources say Nexstar may be eyeing a mere four U.S. scripted originals on its schedule, which new owners Nexstar has already been populating with low-cost imported shows that have already aired elsewhere. Decisions on the network’s remaining U.S. scripted originals have net yet been determined.

Al Pacino could easily refuse the offer to play Han Solo in “Star Wars.”

The Oscar winner revealed that he turned down the 1977 film despite being offered “so much money” for the role. Pacino was coming off of hits like “The Godfather” (1972), “Serpico” (1973), “The Godfather Part II” (1974), and “Dog Day Afternoon” (1975).

“Well, I turned down ‘Star Wars.’ When I first came up, I was the new kid on the block,” Pacino said during an event at the 92nd Street Y in New York (via Variety). “You know what happens when you first become famous. It’s like, ‘Give it to Al.’ They’d give me Queen Elizabeth to play.”

The Season 3 finale of Superman & Lois will air Tuesday, June 27 at 8/7c, TVLine has learned. All American, meanwhile, will air its Season 5 finale on Monday, May 15 at 8 pm. Plus, Gotham Knights will wrap up its freshman run with a finale airing directly after Superman & Lois‘ finale at 9 pm on June 27. All American has already been renewed for a sixth season, but Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights are still awaiting word on their fate.

Series star Drake Rodger explains why he's not worrying about whether The Winchesters season 2 will happen. Season 1 of the prequel to Supernatural, which follows younger versions of John Winchester (Rodger) and Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) in the 1970s, concludes in a big way. It ultimately ties back to the original series, bringing back Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) for a significant on-screen cameo that ties everything together but still leaves room for further exploration down the line.

In a recent interview with Nerds & Beyond, Rodger addresses the question of whether The Winchesters season 2 will happen. The actor explains that, for his part, he's taking the advice given to him by Ackles to "enjoy the ride." It's a sentiment he returns to more than once in the quote below, and Rodger also mentions feeling "very fortunate" for the run that the prequel has had so far:

“Barry” returns for its fourth and final season. After the shocking Season 3 finale which saw Barry (Billy Hader) getting arrested and Cousineau (Henry Winkler) being hailed as a hero, there will be plenty of consequences for both. The dark comedy premieres on April 16 with two episodes.

“A Black Lady Sketch Show” will also bring plenty of laughs when it returns for its fourth season. The sketch comedy series premieres April 14.

On the drama side, the limited series “Love and Death” premieres on April 27. It’s based on the true story of Candy (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pat Montgomery (Patrick Fugit) and Betty (Lily Rabe) and Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons) – two churchgoing couples enjoying their small-town Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.

With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.

First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.

Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

Bill Hader returns for one final season of Barry and the popular sketch comedy A Black Lady Sketch Show kicks off its fourth season on HBO Max in April 2023. Additional highlights of the streaming service’s April lineup include the debut of Love & Death, a limited series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Patrick Fugit; season two of Somebody Somewhere with Bridget Everett; and the return of 100 Foot Wave for a second season.

In addition, the Titans mid-season premiere arrives on April 13. HBO Max offers this description of the fourth and final season’s remaining episodes: “The Titans – with the exception of Gar – are returned to the Temple of Trigon and rush to find Sebastian and Mother Mayhem before Sebastian summons Trigon. Along the way, they come across a prophecy that may require Kory to make a huge sacrifice to save the world.

Chad Stahelski’s filmmaking career began 30 years ago when he performed some stunts for a direct-to-video ninja flick called Brain Smasher… A Love Story starring Andrew Dice Clay. Bruce Lee could have been a TV star before The Green Hornet. The 1960s superhero series is remembered as a major stepping stone in the acting career of the martial arts legend. The actor’s role in The Green Hornet came at a time when he had yet to find a foothold in the entertainment industry.

Airing between 1966 and 1967, ABC’s Green Hornet show is Lee’s first TV credit. The show, which was spawned from the popularity of the network’s Batman series, starred Van Williams as the titular vigilante, Britt Reid. Lee’s character was Kato, the Green Hornet’s superhero sidekick and Reid’s chauffeur. The series ultimately didn’t turn Lee into a household name, but it did serve as American audiences’ introduction to the actor. In The Green Hornet, Lee regularly utilized his experience as a martial artist when performing his various fight scenes in the show.

The twentieth chapter of "The Mandalorian" is called "The Foundling" and is directed by Greef Karga himself, Carl Weathers. It was a surprise, then, to not see Greef Karga in this installment at all. Instead, the episode, co-written by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, focused on the Mandalorian covert. Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) have settled into the culture of the covert, even if it's a bit uneasily. Grogu is content to play with creatures on the shore while the other Mandalorians train, but Din insists that Grogu must train with the others. After besting Ragnar in a match with training darts, Grogu watches as a massive flying creature abducts Ragnar and takes it to its lair. Din and Paz Vizsla give chase with their jetpacks, but they quickly run out of fuel before finding the beast's lair.

Everything Everywhere All at Once has continued its winning ways at the third annual Critics Choice Super Awards, which honor the best film and TV series in the superhero, sci-fi/fantasy, horror and action genres.

The awards season juggernaut, which nabbed best picture (and six other awards) at the 2023 Oscars, was named the best science fiction/fantasy movie at the Critics Choice Super Awards, while Ke Huy Quan was named best actor in that category, and Michelle Yeoh won for best actress in a science fiction/fantasy movie.

Yeoh was name best actress at the Oscars, while Everything Everywhere All at Once reinvigorated the career of Ke Huy Quan, who won for best supporting actor at the Academy Awards.

The 60-year-old Malaysia-born actress became the first Asian woman ever to win the award for Best Actress at the 2023 Oscars on Sunday for her performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.

In the latest TV show ratings, with NBC’s #OneChicago in rerun mode: CBS’ Survivor and Fox’s The Masked Singer tied for the Wednesday demo win, with the former also delivering the night’s largest audience.

CBS | Survivor (with 4.8 million viewers and a 0.6 rating, read recap) built on its premiere audience but dipped in the demo. The already-renewed Lingo (2 mil/0.2) returned to series lows, while True Lies (2.5 mil/0.2) slipped 22 and 37 percent from its premiere, now having a softer lead-in.
