So what? I enjoyed it start to finish and I will watch future episodes. This pilot did what pilots are supposed to do, it set the stage for episodes to come and I think it did so admirably. So what if cases came to court to fast to suit your perception of reality? So what if the attorneys depicted only work a 40 hour week (though where the poster got that, I have no idea)? If either were depicted "realistically" on the show, we would never see any new cases! Who wants to watch a "real" attorney work an 80 hour week? A 120 hour week? This is television, people! Lighten up and enjoy it. It seem as though most of the posters so far are the same audience that keeps "reality shows" on the air year after despicable year. Talk about boring tv.

I'm not a lawyer or a veteran courtroom drama aficionado but I consider the cast to be charismatic, welcoming, and delightful. I like to see characters who stand up for what they believe in.
I suppose things feel like they may be fast-tracked or easier than they would be in reality and I suppose that would deter interest for people who are actually in the field.
Still, I find a show that instills solid work ethic into viewers to be a good thing. These characters show up to work early and work hard into the night. Something this newer generation probably needs to see more of.

I usually do not like tv series that are predominantly episodic (as opposed to serial.. in which episodes are completely interdependent throughout the season) ... but I'm enjoying For the People. It is basically a legal drama about a group of top graduates from the nations best law schools (half US attorneys/ half federal public defenders), battling each other in the highly influential Southern District of NY. Because the series is set in Federal Court- legal issues tend to be constitutional in nature... so the legal issues are a bit more academic than many other legal dramas. I think the characters have an array of personalities & the legal issues hold your attention & the show overall has a good pace. I definitely recommend checking it out.

I enjoy being entertained, having to pay attention, listen or think a little so for me, this delivers. The script was a little bit like Decaf Gilmore Girls, I like the blend of old and new talent, as well as some original characters mixed in with TOTAL doppelgängers (see if you can find the Paris GG person).
It works for me, except for one sad stereotyped if unavoidable case ending that probably got written months and months before our current political climate is what it is. Overall very well done.

While it still has the same lecturing premise of all Shonda Rhimes' shows, this has a nice new spin to it with young, energetic, & power hungry junior lawyers who all want a place in the judicial system. This shows a lot of promise & I'm sticking with it!
Having worked in the profession for over thirty years, I find the script eccentric and overdone. If any true professional behaved like most of the cast, they would be disbarred, broke, or both. Could have been good, but Shondaland can poison even the best ideas.
One of the few good shows on to watch. Hooked from the start. Like all the characters, good acting, good story lines. Holds my interest which is hard to do. LOVE Charles Michael Davis (Marcel from Originals) in everything he does. I even really like some of the older actors that I didn't like in other shows. Look forward to this show every week. Hope it continues.

This show is losing my interest from the flaky screenplay/writing and moreso the cheesy acting. The overly ambitious 'God complexes' are annoying. Susannah Flood's character is unbearable, and to portray that everyone finds her attractive is ridiculous. Some of the dialog makes me cringe "you literally broke my brain"... really? I'll give a few more episodes a chance but unless the writing improves and the actors tone it down to a realistic level, I can only see my current 6/10 rating going down.

This show is so good. I've watched all seasons of greys anatomy 15 times all the way through so I love binge watching shows. When this show popped up I instantly fell in love with the characters and immediately felt like I could binge watch this show for days. I seriously hope this shows keeps going because right now it's one of my favorites.

This episode touched my heart showing the state of mind that immigration policies have come to .. separating a child from a parent..and a parent who may have been illegal but with no record, a job and willing to step up and testify.
I liked the statement of the court clerk expressing that immigrants of years past would probably not be welcome today.
Let's face it..we are all immigrants.
Great show.

Glad they added Brit to the cast.

Interesting premise. Raises some relavent issues in the world today, but the prosecutors are always the "bad guys" and the the defense is always representing victims. It's not always like that in the real world. It wasn't until episode 8 when they get out of this image for a moment. Litigation contains a bunch of passive-aggressive sarcastic remarks, that I assume is supposed to build up
sexual tension, but is really just eye rolling and annoying. This "I'm so tough. I'm a lawyer. You better do as I say" cliche is really worn out. Also, a few of the actors are very boring. Unrealistic, but that's expected.

Made it to halfway through episode 8 (Flippity-Flop) before giving up on this show. Predominantly the rapid-fire banter attempting to cover for bad acting but can't get past the premise that the best lawyers for these high-profile cases are the beautiful new, fresh out of law school attorneys. ZERO drop-ins by other experienced attorneys or were these offices totally empty before the saviors arrived? Just not likable characters (too privileged, too OCD, too aggressive, too.....) even crying in their evening wine (or whine) about how messed up their lives are in penthouse apartments or at their Senator Mama's palatial estate.

I personally think this show is amazing! Most people are only judging this show by the premise or pilot. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Just because it's a lawyer show or has a bad pilot (I loved the pilot) doesn't mean it's a bad, cliché show. It has lots of drama, great actors, and a really interesting and entertaining story line and should be watched by much more people. If people give this show a chance they'll find out that it's actually very good.

It's ok, reasonably entertaining and if you have time to kill worth a watch. It might not appeal to everyone, but considering how much rubbish is on the television, this falls on the right side of ok.

I love the show. I love the fact that has many stories around it and one episode is not focusing only on one case. I kind of fed up with all this law tv shows where for 40 minutes you see only one case. I am looking forward to see more episodes.

Having spent many years of my life around courtrooms, I can tell you that this show is a joke. It is nothing but the ranting of a confused and ignorant liberal mind set. The acting is below par and I will not waste any more time on this show.
Easy watching, not much thinking involved only bug is Sandra bell shouting in every episode when trying to make a point!

I love this show! It's so new and fresh and unlike any other courtroom type tv show! The diversity in conflict and different views are so interesting! Thank you for keeping this show going! Hoping for a season 3 and don't make us wait for so long!

I like the acting and the subject matter they choose. The legal explanations on both sides are credible - leaves you thinking.

I have to admit: I really like the characters in this. And there are a couple of episodes that really had me going. It is because of the themes that they deal with. Something seems to be missing overall though to give it the extra nudge, the extra push this needed to make me go higher in the rating department.
Speaking of departments: you have two opposite groups of people ... but they only work for different bosses - well with different agendas too of course. But you get the human drama of it all. Sometimes it may seem too much drama - but overall there are so many good stories this tells, that you may not even care for the flaws this may show at times.
Acting wise I'm quite convinced - and giving us perspective ... and a different point of view or agenda. The show seems to know what it wants to tackle. And yet after two seasons all is over. If I were to rate only the character I reckon I would have gone higher ... I would think that is a compliment to the writing team and the actors too. Dialog is really fine too. And I guess this ends ... well sufficiently - mostly.

It's lke watching Grey's Anatomy but with lawyers. Fresh graduates, big speeches, boyfriend issues, fighting, predictable characters, bff girls supposedly funny chatting about what is impotant in life, etc. There is just too much drama and not enough real story. Big theatrical speeches about clichés of nothing. I don't feel like I'm watching a law themed show, more like I am watching the private lives of people who just happen to be lawyers.
