In the first teaser trailer for Netflix’s The Residence series released on Thursday, Uzo Aduba stars as a detective Cordelia Cupp who attempts to solve the case of the dead body that was discovered on the third floor of the White House.

“132 rooms. 157 suspects. 1 dead body,” the show warns.

The “screwball whodunnit” features a slew of possible suspects questioned over the dead body that was found during a state dinner. However, will they outsmart Cordelia who, in the trailer, is described as the best detective in the world?

“Mr. President. This house needs to be treated like a crime scene,” Aduba cautions in the trailer. Throughout the teaser, it’s clear chaos is expected to begin as hidden secrets, lingering dangers and political tensions complicate the case with the culprit possibly being a member of the staff or guest.

Shondaland is giving us another White House scandal this spring. The Residence, a “screwball whodunit” set in the halls of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, will drop its eight-episode first season on Thursday, March 20. And now, we have our first teaser, which you can watch above.

Inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book of the same name, The Residence stars Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, “the most sought-after detective in the world.” According to her official description, she’s “wry, funny, relentless, supremely confident, an astute observer of human behavior… and a legendary birder.”

Jasmin Savoy Brown is heading back to Woodsboro.

I can exclusively report that Brown will return as Mindy Meeks-Martin in “Scream 7.” Brown joins Mason Gooding, who plays Mindy’s brother Chad, in the seventh installment of the beloved horror franchise.

Mindy is the first queer character in the franchise.

The movie is currently shooting in Atlanta, with Kevin Williamson directing. “Scream” veterans Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox have also returned as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers. It was recently announced that Joel McHale is playing Sidney’s husband.

“Scream 7” is slated to release in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, which Spyglass Media is producing.

“Yellowjackets” and “Scream” star Jasmin Savoy Brown has a new podcast, titled “Today in Gay.”

Described as a “short, joyful daily news podcast by and for the queer community,” Brown came up with the show three years ago when she realized there’s no queer equivalent to NPR’s “Up First” or the NY Times’ “The Headlines.”

Though Brown serves as creator, the podcast will be hosted by Nay Bever, “Our Flag Means Death” star Vico Ortiz and Bex-Taylor Klaus. Bever and Brown will produce the podcast alongside editor and theme song-composer Lauren Klein, with research by Hannah Nobrega and illustrations by Jax Ko. All members of the “Today in Gay” production team identify as members of the queer community.

“Today in Gay” is fully-funded by Brown, who says everyone will be paid the same — from host to graphic designer, everyone working on the podcast will make $50/hr. The show will launch everywhere on Jan.

Shondaland boss Megha Tolia is stepping down as president and COO before the end of the year, TheWrap has learned.

Tolia, who has headed Shonda Rhimes’ production company for three years, will step down in December to spend more time with her family, a spokesperson said. In her place, chief innovation and design officer Sandie Bailey and CMO Chris Diiorio will be elevated to co-presidents.

Bailey and Diiorio will continue on in their previous roles in addition to their new responsibilities as co-presidents.

“I am so grateful to Shonda and my colleagues at Shondaland for three wonderful years at the company,” Tolia said in a statement Tuesday. “I look forward to cheering them on as they continue to tell stories and fearlessly entertain audiences everywhere.”

Written by Jenna Bans (Desperate Housewives, Scandal, Good Girls) and Bill Krebs (No Tomorrow, Good Girls), the series focuses on four very different members of the titular garden club who “get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom,” per the official synopsis.

Shondra Rhimes shared an Instagram post after the series finale of Station 19. The Grey's Anatomy spinoff ended on May 30 after seven seasons. Rhimes expressed her gratitude for the show's cast and crew and the stories they were able to tell.

Shonda Rhimes has penned a heartfelt message in the wake of the end of Station 19. The show, on which Rhimes was an executive producer, was the second spinoff from her ongoing hit medical drama Gray's Anatomy, which premiered in 2005. The show followed the titular team at the Seattle Fire Department over the course of seven seasons and 105 total episodes before the Station 19 season 7 finale ended the series aired on May 30. NBC released images for Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 8. That is the episode that will debut on Wednesday, March 27.

In one of the images, Firehouse 51 is on a call at a treatment center, where Violet is shown working with someone new.

Giancarlo Esposito is taking over the male lead in Netflix’s Shondaland drama The Residence following the passing of Andre Braugher.

Braugher, who died Dec. 11 following a battle with lung cancer, was tapped last February to be the male lead on Netflix’s Shonda Rhimes drama The Residence, starring opposite Uzo Aduba. The White House murder-mystery started production before shutting down amid Hollywood’s dual strikes. Braugher had already completed filming a lot of his scenes on the series, which was scheduled to resume filming last month January. Esposito’s casting means the scenes Braugher had filmed will be reshot on the drama from showrunner Paul William Davies (Scandal), which has continued production amid the recasting.

We have seen a lot of legal dramas like Suits, All Rise, and even the short-lived For the People. While they are quite entertaining in their own right, they can be quite similar.

That's why The Lincoln Lawyer was a breath of fresh air when it premiered in 2022.

The series follows Mickey Haller, a brilliant LA lawyer who runs his practice in the back of his car because if he needs to move around the city a lot for his client, he'd rather take the time to go over cases instead of driving.

Many TV shows are brought back several years after their series finale, but one show poised to stand the test of time is Justified: City Primeval.

Fans were clamoring for more when Justified went off the air in 2015.

Justified Season 6 Episode 13 left us with the sense that Raylan's journey was not over, and now, we're getting new episodes on July 18.

FX on Wednesday went public with the official trailer, and it introduces us to a hardened Raylan, which makes sense when you consider the series picks up over a decade on from the original finale.

L. Losada, Julieth Restrepo, Mel Rodriguez, and Rebecca Field to its heavyweight cast.

They join previously announced cast members Uzo Aduba, Andre Braugher, Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Susan Kelechi Watson, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mary Wiseman, and Randall Park.

Per Netflix, Minogue will play herself in the drama. Curtin (“The Spy Who Dumped Me”) plays Nan Cox, the First Mother In-Law.

The upcoming Shondaland mystery series “The Residence” at Netflix has added four recurring cast members, Variety has learned exclusively.

E.L. Losada, Matt Oberg, Ryan Farrell, and Alexandra Siegel are the latest additions to the cast. They join series lead Uzo Aduba in the show along with cast members: Andre Braugher, Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Susan Kelechi Watson, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mary Wiseman, and Randall Park.

The official logline for the show states, “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective (Aduba). One disastrous State Dinner. Losada will play energy healer St. Pierre. Oberg will play deputy calligrapher Nick Simms. Farrell will play socialite Lorenzo Motta. Siegel will play socialite Valentina Motta.

Netflix on Monday revealed 11 cast members joining the new series.

Susan Kelechi Watson (This Is Us), Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl), and Ken Marino (Party Down) have joined the cast, according to THR.

Also starring is Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs (Servant), Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault (American Vandal), Bronson Pinchot (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Your Honor), and Mary Wiseman (Star Trek: Discovery).

They Join Orange is the New Black's Uzo Aduba, who was revealed to be headlining the show.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will premiere on Netflix May 4, and will have a Shondaland alum at the helm. Actor, producer, and director Tom Verica directed every episode of the Bridgerton spin-off and he recently revealed his approach to directing the romance period drama.

Verica has had a long career on television, working as an actor, director, and producer. Queen Charlotte is his latest project — a prequel series in the Bridgerton universe that tells the love story of the king and queen that reign in the show.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes wrote every episode of the six-part series, with Verica serving as director. It’s not the first time Rhimes and Verica have collaborated, and the latter recently revealed what working on their latest project has been like.

Exclusive: Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Vondie Curtis-Hall (Harriet), Lilli Cooper (Broadway’s Tootsie), Dominic Fumusa (13 Hours) and Matt Dallas (Kyle Xy) have signed on to star alongside Steven Grayhm in the indie drama Sheepdog, which Grayhm is directing from his own script.

The film going into production later this month in western Massachusetts tells the story of a therapy-averse combat veteran (Grayhm) who is court ordered into treatment after his plan to unite an ex-con and his daughter shows him that he must put himself back together first.

Exec produced by Joe Newcomb (Dallas Buyers Club) of Truth Entertainment, Sheepdog is a co-production with Grayhm’s Team House Studios, which two years ago premiered its indie thriller The Secret of Sinchanee at the UK’s Raindance Film Festival. Written by Aaron Horwitz (“The Cleansing Hour”), “Green Bank” takes place in a real American town where wifi, cell service and all other radio transmissions are heavily forbidden. Inspired by the late Elmore Leonard’s crime novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit, the FX limited series finds Raylan Givens (played again by Timothy Olyphant) still living in Miami, to which he relocated in the original series’ finale.
