There has been a murder at the White House.
In the first teaser trailer for Netflix’s The Residence series released on Thursday, Uzo Aduba stars as a detective Cordelia Cupp who attempts to solve the case of the dead body that was discovered on the third floor of the White House.
“132 rooms. 157 suspects. 1 dead body,” the show warns.
The “screwball whodunnit” features a slew of possible suspects questioned over the dead body that was found during a state dinner. However, will they outsmart Cordelia who, in the trailer, is described as the best detective in the world?
“Mr. President. This house needs to be treated like a crime scene,” Aduba cautions in the trailer. Throughout the teaser, it’s clear chaos is expected to begin as hidden secrets, lingering dangers and political tensions complicate the case with the culprit possibly being a member of the staff or guest.

NBC is diving into the murderous world of a suburban garden club with Grosse Pointe Garden Society.
Based on the trailer alone, we’re already invested.
It’s hard to get a read on a show from a 60-second trailer, but the hook is compelling, and the cast is an embarrassment of riches, meaning we should be in for one of the more buzzy shows of the 2024-25 TV season.
(NBC/Screenshot)
According to NBC, the new one-hour drama “follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief, and a shared secret — a murder no one wants to talk about.”
Oh my!
“As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they try to struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in the garden above.”

Grosse Point Garden Society is set to premiere on Sunday, February 23, at 10/9c on NBC.

“Yellowjackets” and “Scream” star Jasmin Savoy Brown has a new podcast, titled “Today in Gay.”
Described as a “short, joyful daily news podcast by and for the queer community,” Brown came up with the show three years ago when she realized there’s no queer equivalent to NPR’s “Up First” or the NY Times’ “The Headlines.”
Though Brown serves as creator, the podcast will be hosted by Nay Bever, “Our Flag Means Death” star Vico Ortiz and Bex-Taylor Klaus. Bever and Brown will produce the podcast alongside editor and theme song-composer Lauren Klein, with research by Hannah Nobrega and illustrations by Jax Ko. All members of the “Today in Gay” production team identify as members of the queer community.
“Today in Gay” is fully-funded by Brown, who says everyone will be paid the same — from host to graphic designer, everyone working on the podcast will make $50/hr. The show will launch everywhere on Jan.

William Shatner is most known by people as the man who led Star Trek in its early years. From 1966 to 1994, Shatner played James T. Kirk and did so brilliantly. A tentpole character of the franchise that had fans flocking to it for decades. Now, in the twilight of his life, it looks like he's finally stepping back from leading man roles. At least on television.
Despite being 93, Shatner is still going. He's voicing the character Keldor for Masters of the Universe: Revolution and recently starred in the 2021 film Senior Moment. Well, The Rookie sure knows how to cram in the maximum amount of stress and pain in 45 minutes or less!
To say The Rookie Season 6 Episode 8 was an adrenaline-inducing, nail-biter, filled to the brim with revelations, badassery, and soul-crushing moments would be an understatement.
While we already knew Monica, the second most interesting redhead to grace this series, was shady as willow tree in July, learning that she's working alongside Blair was a shock.
But that's not to say most of us weren't suspicious of Blair initially.
The Rookie tips its hat as a procedural because it can be formulaic despite all the unpredictable and intense moments.
One thing consistent about this series is that when they introduce a new recurring side character, nine times out of 10, that person is a Baddie or at least adjacent to some nefarious things.
Blair has been high on everyone's suspect list since she...

Brooklyn Nine-Nine alumna Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb (The Act) and Ben Rappaport (For the People) are set as leads in Grosse Pointe Garden Society, NBC’s drama pilot from Jenna Bans, Bill Krebs and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
The drama follows four members of a suburban garden club — three of them played by Fumero, Robb and Rappaport — all from different walks of life, who get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.
Fumero plays Birdie. Entitled, rich, swathed in Chanel, a smoker, a drinker, self-destructive at times, toxic at others, but not without real pain beneath her facade, Birdie is a successful author whose memoir, “Digging for Gold: Dancing Through Divorce,” is a bestseller.

Violet was faced with the new paramedic just showing up at the firehouse before even being contacted by their boss.
Before she could explain how she wanted things done or even give him a tour of the house, the alarms went off.

Following Sylvie Brett’s exit from Firehouse 51, Violet has to be assigned a new partner on Ambulance 61.
Actress Kara Killmer played Brett for years but has now moved on to other things.

But the show must go on. And that means Violet has to have someone sitting next to her on medical calls.
The showrunner previously revealed that there are bumps ahead, and she also hinted that Violet could have several new people who try to fill Brett’s shoes.

Giancarlo Esposito is taking over the male lead in Netflix’s Shondaland drama The Residence following the passing of Andre Braugher.
Braugher, who died Dec. 11 following a battle with lung cancer, was tapped last February to be the male lead on Netflix’s Shonda Rhimes drama The Residence, starring opposite Uzo Aduba. The White House murder-mystery started production before shutting down amid Hollywood’s dual strikes. Braugher had already completed filming a lot of his scenes on the series, which was scheduled to resume filming last month January. Esposito’s casting means the scenes Braugher had filmed will be reshot on the drama from showrunner Paul William Davies (Scandal), which has continued production amid the recasting.
Here’s the official logline for The Residence, per Netflix: “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs...

Gen V, the new spin-off series of The Boys, has a total of 8 episodes in its first season, with 5 episodes left to be released. The remaining episodes will be released one at a time, following a more traditional TV model instead of dropping the entire season at once. New episodes of Gen V are released on Prime Video every Friday, with U.S. viewers getting access a little earlier on Thursday nights.
The Boys’ new spin-off series Gen V has gotten off to an exciting start, but how many episodes are left in its first season and when will they be released? Based on the story arc “We Gotta Go Now” from Garth Ennis’ The Boys comics, Gen V revolves around a bunch of superpowered college kids attending the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. Scream 6 features a talented ensemble cast of both familiar faces and newcomers, making it one of the series' largest casts to date. Neve Campbell does not appear in Scream 6 due to a salary dispute, but many other beloved characters from previous films make a return. Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding reprise their roles from the previous Scream film, while Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere also return to their iconic characters.
The cast of Scream 6, the sixth installment in the hit horror franchise, is full of great actors, both familiar faces from the previous movies and newcomers joining the ensemble, all playing characters who could secretly be a Ghostface killer. We have seen a lot of legal dramas like Suits, All Rise, and even the short-lived For the People. While they are quite entertaining in their own right, they can be quite similar.
That's why The Lincoln Lawyer was a breath of fresh air when it premiered in 2022.
The series follows Mickey Haller, a brilliant LA lawyer who runs his practice in the back of his car because if he needs to move around the city a lot for his client, he'd rather take the time to go over cases instead of driving.
After launching, the series was a hit among the audience thanks to the popularity of the books it's based on, and the show was well done with a great storyline and characters.
It cracked the coveted Top 10 on Netflix for weeks after the premiere, amassing 260 million cumulative minutes, and remained Top 10 in 90 countries.
