The biggest positive about this one was the concept. You have seen the "it's a game, surprise it's not a game" many times, but this one has an interesting and seemingly original twist that made it feel fresh. Unfortunately that about all it had going for it.

The plot really went nowhere. Not much of a story to be had here. Felt a bit more like an undercooked proof of concept than anything. It wasn't super scary although I quite liked the aesthetic of the bad guy, nothing wildly innovative but he looked spooky. The acting from everyone involved was below mediocre here, particularly the participants... although scruffy guy with the blonde girlfriend was alright.

There was definitely some potential to be had with the concept/plot but unfortunately it was squandered with some poor writing and some poor acting that provided for a kind of generally boring movie. Probably wouldn't recommend.

I don't really pay attention to reviews for movies. I regret listening to all the awful reviews and giving this a shot. It was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. I rented it for 5 dollars and I'm more upset about the 2 hours I wasted with this than the money I spent. It consists of some of the worst acting I've ever seen. The only reason I kept watching it was because I thought the ending would kind of explain all the crap I've watched but it doesn't. It just simply ends. I don't even want to give this movie any more of my time with a bad review because 1 star is still doing it justice.

Well, one can work on a low budget movie but still makes it brilliant with a good story. This is the ultimate bad movie...acting, directing and story.

I honestly had a great time with this movie, despite wanting to turn it off until 30 minutes in. The first 10 minutes of this movie were pointless, and once the characters start to be introduced, you don't really care for or resonate with any of them. They are either annoying or useless, and don't really add anything of value to the story.

That being said, once they enter the Escape Room, the movie really just takes off and never lets up for a minute. It is edge of your seat, the tension is really well done, and the antagonist is genuinely creepy. Several times throughout the movie I wondered if I had switched movies and I didn't realize it. The first 30 minutes of this film do a poor job at setting up the rest of the movie, but once the horror ramps up, it really is an entertaining experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, despite the initial 30 minutes.

I don't know why this movie gets tons of crap. It's a fun and quick watch.

Well I thought it was a clone of Saw and I like Saw so I gave it a shot.

Turns out it's not a clone at all, it's an original movie. Can you believe it ? A horror film with an original scenario ? Not your typical house-in-the-woods horror film, for sure. Thumbs up for that.

This movie is not exceptional. But it was so happy to finally find a horror movie which actually offers something new.

Acting is average, but a special effort has been made to the sound effects. The snitch sounds like he is 200 pounds, and that makes him really scary. I've seen a lot of horror movies, and I'm not scared easily, but this one has definitely a nice tension.

TLDR ; not Oscar-winning, but finally something new. I recommend.

Don't know if it was just my copy but there were no subtitles at the beginning which was puzzling.

Excellent acting from Skeet and Sean Young (For the ten minutes they appeared) but couldn't save it from movie oblivion.

Interesting idea , started off well and quickly went down the big white telephone!

I did manage to watch the whole film but in honesty it was pretty bad. Little to nothing happened. A few times you did feel a tiny bit on edge but mostly because I was waiting for a jump scare which never came. Can't find something to watch then it might be worth a go but for me it was the first and last time I'll ever watch this movie.

From start to finish made no sense. An hour and 30 minutes of your life you wont get back. Do something else or watch something else.

Easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Bad acting, unlikable characters, cheap looking set.

When I first saw the thumbnail I thought this would be a really good movie. But the rest of the movies is nothing like it. Terrible movie.

"Escape Room" is a Horror movie in which we watch a group of friends participating in an escape room challenge and find themselves stuck with a demonically possessed killer.

I have to admit that I expected more from this movie and I was disappointed by it. It lacked originality and it was very predictable despite that in some moments it was intriguing. The interpretations followed the same pattern without having something more to add to it and felt one-dimensional, with little development or emotional depth, something that didn't help the audience to connect with them or even care. All in all, I have to say that "Escape Room" is a disappointing movie that didn't reach its potential so, I don't recommend it to anyone.

I saw this recently on a pirated DVD. Had seen the trailer n liked it. The film opens in a middle eastern desert, creating the atmosphere n the dread when two fellas bury a box. My DVD did not have the English subtitles n most of the Arabic conversation were a bouncer. But the director did a fine job, considering the budget he managed to tell u the story about the box n its evil thru the actions of the two desert fellas n some thru the opening credits. After the opening credit, our film moves to Los Angeles, where four friends plan to take a trip to An escape room. A tight confined room compared to the open desert. The room has no phones, no wireless, and it is completely sound proof. No neighbors or outsiders will be able to hear your scream once the action starts. As for the CCTV, u have to watch the movie. I don't want to spoil it. The director did a terrific job. He managed to create a good blend of shocks, suspense, some brutal deaths n enough tension in a movie which is 80 minutes n set in a small room. The ending is even more scary. Will definitely watch the sequel. The director can make a prequel setting the picture in the 19th century. There is another Escape room which will be releasing in Nov 2017, almost similar but bigger budget.

This film tells the story of four friends who go to an escape game where they have to solve a series of puzzles to get out of a room.

"Escape Room" is a low budget horror film, but it does the job of delivering a lot of thrills and scares. I can imagine how scary it must have been to be in the room and not being able to get out! The danger increases with time, and therefore thrill and urgency increase too. I enjoyed watching it, as it is more engaging than the average low budget horror film.

Great for someone who usually doesn't watch horror movies, or particularly enjoy them, my anxiety was high for sure. Thank god for my computer buffering to soothe my nerves.

A very low budget movie, maybe expend 500 dollars and rent a VHS camera nothing less nothing more, is not a horror is not scary no production no direction and some retired actors from the 70s, 80s, a group of unemployed actors decide to make a horror movie, but yes is a terrible horror movie, for sure the only good review comes from the family, friends or neighbors...do not download or waste your time in this movie
