Baby John Box Office Day 1 Advance Booking Update! ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh led Baby John has arrived in the theatres today. It is the remake of Atlee’s 2016 film, Theri. The action thriller has enjoyed decent pre-release buzz in India. Scroll below for the final advance booking update!
Baby John Pre-Sales Day 1
As per the final update as of 12 Am, Kalees’ directorial has registered advance booking sales of 2.75 crores gross (excluding blocked seats). It has witnessed a growth of 125% in the final 24 hours. Maharashtra and Delhi are currently the best-performing circuits. Karnataka, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh are among other key circuits.
Baby John has sold 93K tickets via advance booking for the opening day. The figures should have ideally been better, given the pre-release buzz was favorable. Varun Dhawan also left fans excited about Salman Khan’s grand cameo. But the action thriller will now be majorly dependent on word-of-mouth.

Hollywood has always been filled with actors going the extra mile just for the sake of their roles and nothing more. Actors like Christian Bale and Joaquin Phoenix have been highly revered for taking this to the extremes.
Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro in The Score | Mandalay Pictures
However, before these two actors, Robert De Niro was the only one. Putting on weights, changing styles, and trying out different walks, De Niro would do this on a regular basis for every movie that he was cast in!
Robert De Niro Would Change With Every Movie
Not in a shape-shifter way but the actor would actually put on or lose a few pounds depending on the role. De Niro was known to change his persona for every different role that he was offered.

Who’s that black private dick who’s a sex machine to all the chicks? Shaft!
Sad news to report this evening, with Deadline reporting that the legendary Richard Roundtree, who played the iconic private eye Shaft in five movies, is dead of pancreatic cancer at 81. Roundtree became a major star overnight in Gordon Parks’ landmark 1971 crime thriller, Shaft, with him starring as the titular private eye, John Shaft, who an underworld boss hires to find his missing daughter. The film was a smash hit, landing Roundtree a Golden Globe nomination for new star of the year and kicking his career into overdrive.
Notably, Shaft helped usher in the blaxploitation era. While it wasn’t the first movie of this genre, it was probably the first one produced by a major studio (MGM). The big box office take helped prove that there was an audience for black-led action movies and...

Philip Glass has been composing soundscapes of ambient intrigue for documentary filmmaker Errol Morris for decades, from the groundbreaking true-crime doc “The Thin Blue Line” to the Robert McNamara portrait “The Fog of War.” Now, the three-time Oscar-nominated modernist composer and co-writer Paul Leonard-Morgan have crafted the original score for Morris’ John le Carré documentary “The Pigeon Tunnel,” the Apple TV+ documentary that opens Friday, October 20. Also premiering that day will be the film’s original soundtrack from Platoon, and IndieWire shares an exclusive track off the album below.
“It is our pleasure to share ‘The Pigeon Tunnel’ soundtrack,” said Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan, adding that “the orchestral journey this score took us on, combing the cimbalom of ’60s espionage soundtracks with symphonic orchestral work, led to 80 minutes of score, almost the entirety of the film.”
The film centers on four days of interviews with le Carré in 2019 that...

John Williams preforms at the U.S Premiere of Lucasfilms’ Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, sponsored in part by Dolby, Swaine and Hamilton at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday, June 14, 2023
(photo: Alex J. Berliner/ABImages) There have been only four major cast and crew members who have been involved with every Indiana Jones movie, from Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981 to the new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Naturally, one is Harrison Ford, since he plays Indiana Jones. Another is Steven Spielberg, who directed the first four films and is an executive producer on the new one. There’s George Lucas, who has story credits on the first four films and executive producer credits on all five. The fourth? Composer John Williams, who has written the music for all of them, even though he’s now 91 years old. James Mangold, who...

When we meet Bradley Thomas (Vince Vaughn) in Brawl in Cell Block 99, things could not be worse for our protagonist. A former boxer who has struggled to turn his life around by making an honest living has just lost his job due to the economy, and as he makes his way home early to lick his wounds, he discovers that his wife, Lauren (Jennifer Carpenter), has been having an affair. Not content with the direction his life is headed, Bradley decides to go back to being a drug runner for his dealer pal, Gil (Marc Blucas), but things go south after a pick-up goes badly, and Mr. Thomas finds himself being incarcerated for his crimes after he refuses to snitch on his boss.
All this seems like a rather run-of-the-mill set-up for a grungy revenge-fueled actioner, but what follows in Cb 99 is anything but predictable, as writer/director S. Craig Zahler...

Curiously, given that he’s better known as a director, and hasn’t scored a movie in sixteen years, few have had more influence on 21st century film scores than John Carpenter. The synth-heavy approach on the horror master’s movies was unfashionable for a long time, but a new wave of genre pictures like “It Follows,” “The Guest” and the like have turned heads with their Carpenter-evoking scores, even leading to a resurgence of interesting in the helmer’s music, leading to him releasing a couple of albums and playing music festivals.

Yes folks, I’m diving back into bi-monthly Oscar predictions! At the very least, I wanted to sort of wrap up the first half of the year with a slightly different set of predictions. The Academy Awards are still a ways off in the distance, but without question we have things changing the potential contenders here and there. For example, the impetus of this extra update is to see where Pixar’s Inside Out could fit into things. I’m sticking with a big push for Ridley Scott’s The Martian, just like last time, but I wanted to take into account what the animated flick could do. Also, I wanted to fill out the technical categories a bit more, which includes some films that we haven’t talked much about. Obviously, things are still in their infancy, but I felt this was justified. Plus, who doesn’t love an update to Oscar predictions?...

Yeah, the Austin Film Critics Association naturally dug the Austin-set "Boyhood," and yeah, they showed a lot of love for "Nightcrawler." But the single coolest thing they did Wednesday in their awards announcement was single out "Joe" star Gary Poulter, a homeless local non-actor who tragically died after completing work on the David Gordon Green film but who delivered one of the most startling performances of the year. He belongs on any supporting actor ballot, in my humble opinion. Check out the full list of winners below, and as ever: The Circuit. Best Film "Boyhood" Best Director Richard Linklater, "Boyhood" Best Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, "Nightcrawler" Best Actress Rosamund Pike, "Gone Girl" Best Supporting Actor J.K. Simmons, "Whiplash" Best Supporting Actress Patricia Arquette, "Boyhood" Best Adapted Screenplay "Gone Girl" Best Original Screenplay "Nightcrawler" Best Cinematography "Birdman" Best Score "Birdman" Best Animated Film "The Lego Movie" Best Foreign Language Film "Force Majeure...

David Gordon Green is looking to play ball again with Eastbound & Down‘s Don Johnson. Only this time, they’ll be teaming up for a college football drama instead of a baseball comedy. Titled Score, the new streaming project has Green attached to direct from a script by Johnson. It’s unclear right now whether it’s a TV […]

While David Gordon Green has a plethora of Lost, Unmade & Abandoned Projects, that's only because the filmmaker tends to have a handful of irons in the fire at any one time, hoping one will spark into his next project. He's certainly not one willing to sit idle for too long. With "Joe" dropping in theaters this spring, the director has already lined up the Steven Soderbergh-produced comedy series "Red Oaks" over at Amazon Studios. And it seems the streaming world holds another opportunity for Green, who apparently has another gig in the works. Speaking with Grantland, Don Johnson reveals he's written something that he'll star in, with Green behind the camera. "I’ve actually written something that David Gordon Green is attached to direct. I’m gonna do it for streaming," Johnson said. "It’s called 'Score' and it’s set in the ’80s, and it’s about the rise of big-time college football.
