The house used as the Jensen family home was an Airbnb rental home in San Antonio, Texas. The male lead cast Riker, Troy and Reece lived there during the filming.
Riker Lynch's real-life younger sister and R5 bandmate Rydel Lynch makes a cameo in the film as Jill the bartender.
The story is semi-autobiographical depicting some of the events that writer director Scott Leisk experienced growing up. The high school is based on his alma mater Robert E Lee in Houston, TX that has subsequently been renamed.
The back pack Erica, played by Kimmy Caruso uses in the film was writer/director Scott Leisk's very own back pack he used in high school.
The 1967 Chevelle Ryder drives in the film was producer Aaron Lee Lopez's. His grandfather bought the car new in Marfa, Texas in 1967.
