- Harrison Burke is a trader at a prestigious Wall Street investment bank who's living high on the hog until a round of downsizing renders him unemployed. Jobless and in debt, Burke moves back in with his parents in a quaint New Hampshire town, telling them that he's on vacation. Burke's descent into humility continues when he takes a job at his father's "Rocky Road" ice-cream truck business, competing for his old route with a teenager. Oh, and he discovers that his former girlfriend is now dating his old rival. Eventually, as he settles in, Burke rediscovers the charm of home and learns how alike fathers and sons can be.—Sawldiers
- Harrison Burke is the top financial advisor at the Wall Street firm where he works. He does everything to look the part of a Wall Street success, such as spending every cent he has on expensive material possessions - including many household gadgets for his parents, Ben and Marla Burke - and being known as "Harrison" rather than his simpler birth certificate name of plain old "Harry". Instead of the increased business he is expecting with a planned merger with another investment firm, he is the victim of downsizing when the merger doesn't happen, he being temporarily laid off as although he is the firm's top advisor, he is also the most expensive, with the firm paying him top dollar, including providing him with many of his basic living items, such as his upscale apartment and sports car. Having no money, no place to live, no car and not being able to find another job - just missing one opportunity after another - Harrison believes he has no choice but to "go home" and live with his parents in small town New Hampshire while he waits to be rehired by his firm or find another similar Wall Street job. This situation is his worst nightmare as he did everything he could to leave behind his old small town New Hampshire life, expecting never to return except for short visits when he could always throw around money to show his success. Although he doesn't initially disclose the reason for coming home to his parents, they eventually find out. As such, they put him back to work in what was his summer job when he was in high school in the family business called Rocky Road: driving an ice cream truck. The business is ramping up for the busier summer season. Much like Ben and Marla's personal life, nothing with Rocky Road has changed in twenty years. As Harrison seems to be returning to his roots, he has time to reflect on those roots, including the fact that he is still attracted to his high school sweetheart, Suzie Barnes, who is now dating who was his high school nemesis, Rick Johnson. What Harrison decides to do with his life is also affected by news he learns about Rocky Road.—Huggo
