This movie is listed as a thriller but it definitely isn&#39;t. It&#39;s about teenage boys working as hosts at a &quot;social club&quot; which is obviously a host club and since host clubs aren&#39;t really a thing in the West I&#39;m about 95% certain that this story was written by a anime/manga fan. The personalities of the characters are all weird, the hosts act more like anime/manga characters than real people. The thing about anime and manga is that they are usually really badly written so don&#39;t expect much from this movie. If you were hoping to see an actual thriller, then know that the creepiest thing in this movie is the main character&#39;s mom who follows him all over the place, hanging out outside the host club trying to get it shut down because she doesn&#39;t want her son to work there even though he&#39;s over 18 and the other parents think she&#39;s way too concerned about this. Still the acting and effort are there so I gave it a very generous 5/10.

My Son's Deception

Like what the hell? This is a mess of a movie. None of the characters are really developed and you cannot really like anybody in this movie. The 18-year-old soccer kid looks like he&#39;s 40 years old. I cannot believe they would let somebody this age portray an 18-year-old high school student going into college. None of the actors are believable. The mom is not bad, but this whole movie does not seem believable. I feel like it is very confusing and you really don&#39;t know the characters at all. I don&#39;t understand why they would cast somebody that looks so much older as an 18-year-old. In real life he&#39;s 29 but at the same time , he does not look like he&#39;s in high school or even college. Is there a lack of younger people in Canada? I don&#39;t recommend this movie.

Maria Dawes is a widow struggling to keep her restaurant (&quot;Moments&quot;) in operation. Without informing her son Jackson, she squanders his college fund that has been saved due to the efforts of his late father Harry. Maria also snoops in Jackson&#39;s sports bag to discover a strange animal mask. The mask has been worn by Jackson at a high brow club called the Blue Fox. While it is never made explicit what transpires at the club, the activities are likely similar to the kinky escapades of Stanley Kubrick&#39;s film &quot;Eyes Wide Shut.&quot; Young Jackson takes away large stashes of cash from donning the mask and &quot;entertaining&quot; older women. But unlike the Kubrick film, we are never treated to any of the intimacies. We only know that the following day at practice, the young soccer star Jackson is exhausted from his &quot;work&quot; at the club. A problem with the film was that the characters were not likable. The action was predictable, and there was a sloppy final confrontation in the production values. The &quot;climax&quot; was nothing like the shenanigans that typically occur at the Blue Fox parties. Rather, the choreography was dreadful in a mad chase around the facility with multiple vases cracked over the skull of the villain. The film either needed an outrageous over-the-top style appropriate to the unusual dramatic material, or more carefully developed realism in the action that stretched credibility from start to finish.
