After years of waiting and build-up, “Fargo” creator Noah Hawley’s ambitious new entry in the “Alien” franchise, FX’s “Alien: Earth,” has finally arrived. The series, which is set in the same universe as the other “Alien” films, drops viewers right into a dystopian future where Earth is controlled by a handful of all-powerful corporations and the humans who find themselves at their mercy are repeatedly subjected to reckless biological experimentation and unnecessary danger.

At the center of the series are characters with opposing interests, perspectives and goals. There are a lot of them, and they are played by actors you may or may not have ever seen before. With that in mind, here is your guide to who’s who in the new, long-awaited FX series.

It did not take long for Apple TV+, after its inception in 2019, to slowly but surely prove itself to be the home of high-quality prestige television, competing with the likes of HBO and FX. Among its latest offerings is the new sports comedy Stick, which took streaming by storm for a few weeks after its debut. The comedy premiered on June 4, wrapping up its debut season run towards the end of the following month, on July 22. Sports comedies are great, mixing the intense passion and competitiveness of elite sport with humorous comedy, delivering an excellent cocktail. Exclusive: Sources are telling us that Apple TV+ is in early development on an untitled series exploring female identity and modern motherhood written and executive produced by Emily Ratajkowski and author Stephanie Danler with Lena Dunham executive producing under her Good Thing Going label.

Ratajkowski is attached to star and the project reps her screenwriting debut following her New York Times best-selling debut book My Body. A24, which is behind HBO’s Euphoria, is serving as the studio. A24 also made the Sophia Coppola-directed movie On the Rocks starring Bill Murray and Rashia Jones with AppleTV+.

The project also reps a reteam between Ratajkowski and Dunham, who are coming off of the Netflix series Too Much. Dunham co-created that show which follows New York workaholic Jessica who moves to London after a break-up, planning to be alone, but falls for Felix. Ratajkowski plays Wendy Jones on Too Much.

Apple TV+ has officially announced that Andrene Ward-Hammond (Your Honor), Yumi Asō (Perfect Days), Tobias Menzies (F1: The Movie), Reece Shearsmith (The League of Gentlemen), Nabhaaan Rizwan (Kaos), Meera Syal (The Wheel of Time), and Lolly Adefope (Ghosts) have joined the cast of Prodigies, the upcoming series in the works starring Ayo Edebiri and Will Sharpe. Rina Sawayama, who is best known for her role opposite Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4, is also attached to star in the series. In addition to starring in the series, Sharpe also wrote and created Prodigies, and he’ll executive produce the show alongside Edebiri, Jane Featherson, Naomi de Pear, and Katie Carpenter. Apple TV+ has yet to announce an official release date for the show, but these new casting additions are a step in the right direction.

A Saturday Night Live reunion is coming to Netflix. Will Ferrell will reunite with one of his former co-stars in his upcoming Netflix comedy series centered around a fictional golf legend.

Netflix announced, via its Tudum website, that Molly Shannon has joined the untitled comedy series as Stacy. She will appear in all 10 episodes. Shannon and Ferrell's respective times as cast members on SNL almost perfectly sync up, with the two both joining in 1995. However, Shannon left in 2001, while Ferrell didn't depart the hit sketch comedy series until 2002. In the years since SNL, Shannon has starred in the films A Good Person, Promising Young Woman, Other People, Scary Movie 4 and Scary Movie 5, as well as the television series The White Lotus, Divorce, The Other Two, and I Love That For You. She most recently appeared in the fourth season of Hulu's Only Murders in the Building.

The streamer has officially released the first trailer for Invasion Season 3, which will premiere its first episode on August 22 with subsequent installments following weekly until the finale on October 24. The show hails from Simon Kinberg (Deadpool) and Davie Weil (Citadel), and it follows an alien invasion around the world told through the perspectives of three normal people. Additionally, the article confirmed actor Kingston Vernes will join the show as Nova's potential love interest Carson, a fellow student at New Sunnydale Academy who "starts noticing her after a life-changing event."

Prior to Buffy, Armstrong made appearances in shows like Anne with an E and American Horror Story: Red Tide, most recently playing At Atin resident Fern in the Star Wars pirate adventure Skeleton Crew. Apple TV+ recently kicked off its third season of Foundation a few weeks ago, but now another upcoming sci-fi series just got an exciting new look. Collider is thrilled to partner with Apple TV+ to exclusively debut a new batch of images from Invasion Season 3, which will begin streaming on August 22. The sweeping sci-fi series hails from Simon Kinberg and David Weil, and it stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Shane Zaza, and Enver Gjokaj. Erika Alexander has also joined the cast of Invasion Season 3 in a regular capacity. Invasion Season 2 earned a solid 67% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has been hailed for its beautiful cinematography and for upping the ante with each season — expect Season 3 to be no different.
