Kat receives a visit from Brendan, a guy who's concerned over the whereabouts of his mother. Kat's mother is delighted to hear that Monty has died, but she's still haunted by his claims of innocence.
I enjoyed this more than the opening episode, Coben has spun a real web of mystery and intrigue with this one, it has the potential to become overly complicated and impossible to follow, but so far, I've stuck with it, it's definitely held my interest.
I like Brendan, he's an interesting guy, is he spinning her a yarn, and part of the plot, or is he a genuine, potential victim? I'm looking the Rishi Migari storyline too, keen to see where it goes.
I loved the appearance of Steve Pemberton, and at the start of this episode, I thought I'd clicked on the wrong show, and started watching a new (if only!) episode of Inside no.9, his character would definitely have fitted in well there, the sinister pet seller.
Kat's mum and her friends look like they have a right old laugh, I bet they're incredible company to sit and have a couple of drinks with.
That's the problem with dating apps, you never quite know who's in the other end of them.
Very good.
8/10.
