I love the new art style it reminds me of the Peanuts Movie. The reboot did a pretty good job being true to the original while still doing its own thing. In this new version, Cosmo and Wanda have a new Godkid and it takes place in the future. I prefer the original but this is a worthy reboot. It's pretty funny so I would recommend checking it out. My man Poof had better appear he is one of my favorite characters. I also hope they show the whereabouts of what happened to other characters from the original. What happened to Chloe, What happened to Sparky, What happened to Chester, What happened to AJ, What happened to Vicky, What Happened to Tootie, What happened to Darth Lazer, etc.

The Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish is an animated series that is a sequel to the original The Fairly Oddparents (2001-2017). A New Wish has cute character designs, energetic animation, a coherent story, and characters that you can't help but root for.
The story is very simple and similar to the original. A little girl gets fairy godparents after she struggles to fit in into her new life. However, there is a sense of continuity in the story here compared to the original. While the original focuses more on slapstick gags and one liners rather than story progression, A New Wish does it in a way that is related to the story of the episode.
The animation is incredibly smooth and surprisingly translates well into this 2.5 D style. It is also very vibrant and engaging, making the backgrounds and character movements very appealing to look at. The animation is very similar to the 2015 film The Peanuts Movie, and despite A New Wish having a lower budget, the animation is very well done and respects the design of the original show.
The characters are very charming and likable. In fact, Cosmo and Wanda are no longer a miserable couple and are now shown to love each other again. They are very giggly, and when they do make fun of each other, they don't come off as mean spirited but rather silly. They are also seen to care for each other and both love their grown son, Peri, very much. The show also emphasizes on showing the actions of the characters rather than telling. For instance, Cosmo and Wanda are seen to be hugging a lot. The main character, Hazel, is very funny and smart, and has a good amount of character flaws that make the viewer empathize with her more. Hazel's parents are very supportive, albeit distant, to their daughter. They also have a great relationship with her, which wasn't shown in the original as Timmy's parents were negligent. It was nice to see loving parents (not fairies) in a Fairly Oddparents show. Finally, the main antagonist, Dev Dimmadome, is a very well flushed out character who you can't help but feel bad for. He also has a solid character arc and is not only defined as a rich spoiled kid.
Overall, the show is extremely enjoyable and entertaining, and can be watched by anyone. A New Wish is definitely the best show that Nickelodeon has produced in a decade and I highly recommend it not only to fans of the original, but to regular people as well. It's a cute, funny, and emotional show that you should definitely check out.

This show has received a lot of hate, but it isn't as bad as many people say. The story is interesting and keeps you hooked with its twists and turns. The characters are not self inserts, each having unique traits and adds depth to the story. The acting, though not perfect, has some strong performances that make the characters feel real.
Despite its flaws, the show offers good entertainment value and is worth watching. Some critics focus too much on the animation, but there's a lot to appreciate if you give it a chance. The plot is engaging and keeps viewers interested throughout each episode. The characters' development helps you connect with them.
In the end, It's not perfect, but it has enough good points to make it worth watching. If you look past the criticisms, you might find a show that you can really enjoy.

I've watched the original show back when I was a kid. So when I heard about this new sequel series, I had to see for myself. To not spoil anything, here's how I sum it up. Not only did the nostalgia hit hard for me with all the callbacks and cameos but every little story made me care about the new godkid's growth and you really get to see her learning life lessons through such entertaining and touching moments.
Admittedly, I stopped watching the original series sometime around season 7ish after high school, but seeing this show is now making me want to go back and binge the original from the beginning. I hope this new series get renewed for a second season.

Look, I get it. People are really piling on this show with negative reviews. But come on, it's gone too far now. You all are hating on it way more than it deserves. Sure, maybe it's not quite as amazing as the original series. That doesn't mean it's terrible though. The way some folks are talking, you'd think this new show personally insulted them or something. It's just a show meant for kids, not the end of the world! I've been reading through so many reviews, and honestly, a lot of them don't make any sense to me. It feels like people decided they were going to hate it before they even watched it. They're nitpicking every little thing and blowing the good proportion of the show away. Like, are we even watching the same show here? I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's nowhere near as bad as these reviews are making it out to be. Some people are getting mad about the tiniest details that don't even matter. Who cares if a character's hair is different or if the character is black. That stuff isn't what makes or breaks a show. On less they pull the same writing as Velma. Nothing will ever be exactly like the og show, but that doesn't mean new things should be automatically bad.
Now, I know a lot of people had low expectations about this show seeing all the previous failures of FOP but this show is actually not that bad if you give it a chance!
First the animation/art style It's stylized to a degree but it can look a little bland in some scenes, but the animation is great overall with snappy movements.
As for the new character Hazel, shes a breath of fresh air for the FOP series, she's different from Timmy so its fun to see what she would do compared to Timmy. I see alot of people are upset that Timmy has been 'replaced' but it was about time we got a new MC who does things differently to Timmy.
As for Cosmo and Wanda they kinda revert to their season 1 personalities being 2 goofy idiots and I'm here for it!
Episodes wise I found myself laughing at some jokes here and there and some scenes captures the charm to the original show. Although because of modern writing there were some parts that were kinda cringe but its understandable seeing this is meant for a new gen.
Overall its a decent cute show that you should give a chance and I hope this gen can grow up with this FOP reboot.

Admittedly before I even watched this show having had seen how bad just the first episode of the previous reboot attempt was, that I was quite trepidatious as how this series may turn out. I was fairly surprised at how good the actual first episode of this new reboot was, although Cosmo and Wanda being presented as retirees still doesn't sit right with me. It just seems out of character for them. The series has potential where the other reboot was an utter catastrophe and quite an awful show to where I forgot to even watch the remaining twelve episodes before Paramount terminated its existence. It was that unmemorable. This however it does have some heart put into it rather than it being just a soulless cash grab like the other was. The only connecting points between it and the original show were the animated opening sequence and the cameo by an adult Timmy Turner and his faeries sans Poof being transferred to his Fairly Odder canon cousin. This show on the other hand is about an entirely new god-kid in an entirely new city who meets Cosmo and Wanda as her "neighbors" and eventually calamity ensues after Hazel makes her first wish.

As a fan of FOP,it being my favorite nicktoon,id say this is the best the show has been since wishology, such a great show with a lot of heart and you can defintely tell the writers care about the source material and really wanna make something special,Hazel is a great new antagonist and it's so great to see Cosmo and Wanda back to loving each other and not at each others throats. I'm so excited for the rest of the season and I really hope we get more because I am ABSOLUTELY LOVING how everything is being set up. Such a great reboot to a good show(we don't need to talk about the last reboot we got before this...)
The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is the second reboot to the Fairly OddParents, the first being the Paramount+-exclusive Fairly Odder, which was cancelled after one season due to it being an attempt to turn the series into a live-action sitcom continuation (as well as some people believing the series did not need to be brought back, among other reasons), and can be seen by many fans as Nickelodeon still being unable to make up their minds on whether the FOP should stay cancelled or not (as the original show was infamous for being cancelled, only to be suddenly renewed).
Set in the city of Dimmadelphia, the show follows Hazel Wells, a ten-year-old girl whose family moved into the city. Missing her brother, Antony, who is in college, Hazel is sad and depressed, but soon, her life is about to turn Fairly Odd, as her next-door neighbors end up being Cosmo and Wanda, Timmy's fairy godparents. Having retired sometime prior to the series, seeing Hazel being miserable, they decide to come out of retirement and become her fairy godparents, where like with Timmy, each wish causes an adventure as they usually go wrong.
So, yeah, basically, this is yet another reboot, and somehow, this is fairly better than Fairly Odder. Taking the series back to its animated roots, A New Wish goes CGI with the characters looking like they were made for the original show (and even some still images made for flashbacks and the title cards done in the 2D style of the original show). Sadly, the show is said to feature mostly new characters, with Cosmo, Wanda, and the strict Jorgen von Strangle being the only three characters returning (unless Nickelodeon and the series decide to have the characters return at some point if the show does good enough to go beyond one season). For the voice acting, Daran Norris and. Susanne Blakeslee return to voice Cosmi and Wanda (with Daran also reprises the role of Jorgen). Ashleigh Crystal Harrison, best known as the voice of Babs Bunny on Tiny Toons Looniversity. Voices Hazel, and does an amazing job, and the show brings in some well known VAs like Grey Griffin,Eric Bauza, and even Carlos Alazraqul, whom FOP fans remember as the voice of series antagonist Denzel Crocker, was invited to voice a new character in Mr. Guzman, who is a lot nicer and gives Hazel good advice (as the mean adult role went to the principal,Amy Krentz, who is one of Grey Griffin's characters, who is basically mean, strict, and is obsessed with perfection or winning,
With the new characters and settings, the formula is always the same, as each episode has Hazel makes a wish, only for it to go bad, just like it did with Timmy in the original show, and learning an important lesson along the way. However, I have to give this a sevem as despite being good, the new characters were a hit-or-miss, as well as of the humor not being funny, but A New Wish is good, and I hope it gets newer fans to go and check out the original show.

When I first heard about this show, I didn't have high hopes. I expected it to be like some of the other shows that have come out recently, which were not very good. I thought it might be another disappointment, like the show "Fanboy and Chum Chum." However, I was pleasantly surprised. From the very first episode, the show grabbed my attention. The characters are interesting and the story is good but not perfect. It is clear that the creators put a lot of effort into making this show enjoyable for all ages. The animation is also very well done. The colors are bright and vibrant, which makes the show visually appealing. Not like the other reboots we had.

This show looks great it reminds of the bluesky peanuts films that also looked great, while other nickelodeon revivals and sequels looked horrible like the ren and stimpy reboot or just weren't very good like the rocko's modern life special this one is a worthy sequel to the classic butch hartman cartoon. My main problem with this show is a subjective one, the tone, it lacks the cynical and mean spirited humor the original had which made it so funny to begin with. This show kinda keeps some of the cynical child neglect humor of the old with the side character/antagonist Dev and those moments can be funny but it just isn't as forefront as the original show. They bring back some old characters for cameos like Vicky and Crocker and Maybe they'll do more with Crocker especially with how much of a threat he was in the original show. Hazel is cute but not as interesting or funny as Timmy. As for the comedic gags sometimes they feel off and you can tell they would work better in 2d. This show also has some W0ke elements that Butch Hartman would've never included in his original show but As for Nickelodeon revivals this is easily the best of them, compare this to the rugrats reboot released a couple years back which has horrible looking cgi and doesn't translate the crude artstyle of the original 90's show, it was a massive flop compared to this show. More shows could learn from this how to near perfectly translate a retro 2d Art style into 3d and make it look good.
This show is EXACTLY what The Fairly Odd parents and Nickelodeon needed right now. We need another season pronto!
It's an adorable show with so much talent and love put in. The art style is incredible, it's got so much life and really fits The Fairly Oddparents. I actually think its an even better art style than the original. I adore the new characters like Peri and Dev, they have such fun dynamics. I wish we had spent more time on Peri and Dev.
The writers definitely know what they're doing. I'm so invested in the characters it kills me to think this is where we leave the story.
Once again please get us a season 2 of this show Nickelodeon!

The episodes I saw are fantastic. When I saw the teasers for the first time, they didn't convince me very much, and I even thought it was going to be like the disgusting live action that people should forget; What I was going for is that I like the mix of 2D and 3D animation, I also like that the relationship between Cosmo and Wanda no longer has a relationship as toxic as the last seasons and Hazel is fantastic. I really like her personality in general. I think that This show can move forward, it could even finally end the Fairly OddParents arc so that it has a better ending than the one we had in the original series.

IT LITERALLY SAID "SIGH" OUT LOUD .All this slang to get the attention of the young generation is in my opinion (that reminds me in the second to last episode where the music lady said "IMHO" out loud again) a cheap trick of the Nickelodeon company. Not satisfied with their half-baked episodes where all they do is references to the old show .Furthermore, the animation sometimes feel a bit odd, maybe due to a budged cut or something but someone could easily identify the animation mistakes that were almost in every second episode with their uncanny faces. Last but not least, the main protagonist Hazel feel very one dimensional as a character and lacks the boldness or unpredictable personality that Timmy Turnen had in the original series.

Gosh darn, the animation on this show makes it impossible for me to watch. It's so... odd. Some things look real, others are obviously CGI, which is fine, but the movements seem really off.
It's a mix of smooth movement and like... fake stop motion. Stop motion is great when it's real. Faking that stuttering animation is just silly. Why would you want to intentionally make the animations worse?
What it feels like is that the animation department lacked direction and produced some kind of unholy amalgamation of animation styles. Pick one style and stick with it. No need to do this mixing.
Why change a good thing? Nothing was wrong with the original style anyway, and this is a far cry from an improvement.

Legitimately surprised with how this one turned out. Its miles better than the final couple seasons of the fairly oddparents. The problem with the original show is that the studio kept dragging it out for WAY too long, running it into the ground so hard that by the time it ended, pretty much everyone involved (from the animators, to the writers, to the voice actors) werent even trying anymore. And when i went into this show i was just worried it was going to be a continuation of that, but no, they gave it a well needed new coat of paint.
For one thing the returning characters arent flanderized as heck in this one, cosmo isnt a complete braindead moron and wanda isnt a condescending nag. Theres also a good amount of callbacks to the original series which actually served a purpose, and the writing quality is really improved.
Another thing they improved upon the show is how they managed to flush out characters that the original series would have just pushed to the side. Like hazels parents for example, they could have easily just made them generic parent stereotypes like timmys parents were, but no, they actually have personalities this time around. The writing isnt lazy or cheap, in the original series the writers pretty much gave up following the shows rules by the end of it, and its nice to have writers that actually care this time around
also the animation, oh man the animation is good. Its highly stylized 3D animation that imitates 2D, and its done surprisingly well. Like i expect a level of quality like this in a movie, this is probably the first ever tv show to have a "spider verse" level of stylization. I also like how they occasionally bring in the old 2D style and integrate it seamlessly with the modern animation style. No idea how they have the budget for this, but im impressed.
Its not bad, it really is. Its a good idea being taken in the right direction for once.

I watched the original series "The Fairly OddParents" on Disney Channel as a child. It was one of my favorite animated series at the time. Now I'm an adult and a bit out of sentiment I gave "The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish" a chance. And although I would love to say that such "reheating the chop" makes no sense, I had quite a good time. It's definitely a better series than I expected.
Purely subjectively, the new style of animation is great. It looks a bit like a collage and a bit like new Adult Swim animations. Cosmo and Wanda look especially good. As "people" they look just like I imagined it a dozen or so years ago.
The voices of the characters were well chosen (at least in my opinion). They add a lot of character to them, which I think is one of the most important things in an animated series. My only complaint is that this series is definitely more infantile than the original. I understand that this is an animation for children, but the original allowed itself to make crude jokes, which are not here. Too bad. Other than that, it's very good. It was fun to go back to this story.

I don't know why this reboot is getting so much hate! It's adorable and refreshing compared to every other reboot/special based off of the original (example: THAT Christmas Live-action special). Hazel may not be complex protagonist, but she's more of a ten year old than Timmy was, in my opinion. The animation is choppy, but it has its charm. It's like a storybook kind of style, mixed with something like a comic, reminding me of the newest TMNT movie. On top of that, characters from the original aren't forgotten or slandered. Cosmo and Wanda have an adorable relationship, much like the original idea for the pilot. They're literally two halves of an idiot and Wanda isn't the stereotypical nagging wife from the later seasons in the original. It's perfect.
Give it a chance, people :)

I'm starting to not like this show ever since the second and final batch of episodes came out at the near end of July and before that I started to not like it see I liked the pilot "Fly" but after that the quality of the series started going down into the series and it's not that entertaining, there's barely any plot and substance to it in the episodes, and it's so boring to watch.
This spin-off should not be created after the terrible backlash for Fairly Odder and the pilot got leaked online and after that leak people started to be angry at this news.
Nickelodeon barely has any original content most of it's current shows are spin-offs (Like Kamp Koral and The Patrick Star Show) shows based on toys (like Monster High and Transformers: Earthspark), and I found Monster High, Transformers: Earthspark, and maybe Kamp Koral to be boring.
Recently I don't watch a premiere of the new episodes of the show probably because of it's new timeslot being 6pm compared to it's previous 4:30pm slot or maybe the show is so boring.
If you like this show that's ok, I'm not trying for you to not watch or don't like/hate it, this is my own opinion.
For the people who don't like/hate the show let's hope that this show does not get renewed for Season 2.

Alot better than the other reboots in the past. The characters in this new version of the show are more interesting and easier to connect with. Not everyone in the show is annoying, as most characters are actually quite nice. The different personalities and relationships between the characters make the story interesting and keeps me wanting more. It's nice to see a reboot that doesn't use basic, overused characters to move the story along. Like the other reboots we have seen cough cough. Overall, the show has some aspects missing that make it better than the original but i can acually call this one a good reboot. Asmr kid really 😭
