During a recent Q&a session, Schwartz shared his excitement about the possibility of bringing the stretchy superhero to life under James Gunn’s direction.

When a fan on the social media platform X asked if he still had a shot at playing Plastic Man, Schwartz responded enthusiastically. “It would be a dream come true,” he wrote. “But whoever they get for that role, I’ll be excited that the character is out there in the world in a big fun way. It is clear that R rated superhero movies have an audience if they are solid films. This was proven when Deadpool was released in 2016 and made over seven hundred million dollars. Logan was released the following year and made over six hundred million dollars. For R rated movies, that’s incredible. For superhero movies that’s, amazingly, not an enormous amount of money. Then, Deadpool 2 made seven hundred eighty five million dollars in 2018. Infamously, Joker, technically a comic book movie while not truly a superhero movie, made over a billion dollars becoming the highest grossing R rated movie of all time. It was recently dethroned by Deadpool and Wolverine which grossed 1.33 billion. This trend did not continue with Joker 2, but there’s reasons for that we won’t get into here.

In five out of the last eight years, there have been R comic book rated movies released that were very successful.

Hong Kong-based indie sales agent Good Move Media has added Japanese music drama “Plastic” to its FilMart slate.

The new picture is the story of teenagers Juna and Ibuki, who set out to find the psychedelic rock band Exne Kedy. Exne Kedy is a fictional creation from musician Ide Kensuke, who previously released punky album “Kensuke Ide With His Mothership — Contact From Exne Kedy and the Poltergeists,” but the band is actually credited as performing and providing part of the music track in the film. “Plastic” is recently completed and headed for a theatrical release in Japan in July.

It’s that time of year when the Christmas/ Holiday/ Winter Solstice/Hanukkah/ Kwanzaa Specials come out. Not all different ones of course, but these days the books try and be inclusive and include all the above. DC have cleverly sidestepped the yearly outrage at using either Christmas or Holidays in the title. Life’s too short. I’ve been enjoying these seasonal specials in one shape or another for many years, going back to the late 70’s. I still have most of them and still read them every year in the run up to Christmas. Digital now means I don’t even have to fight my way into the correct comic storage box too, an annual tradition I’m pleased to let go. The stories are generally light and a bit of fun, but that’s the spirit of the season.

Miley Cyrus has officially announced her seventh album Plastic Hearts. The 27-year-old kicked off the cycle with the Stevie Nicks-sampling single “Midnight Sky” this summer.

Plastic Hearts will be released on November 27th, shortly after the singer turns 28. "DC Super Pets", a new animated feature based on DC Comics' family of crime-fighting animals, is targeting a May 21, 2021 release, directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine, that originated as a children's series from Capstone Publishers and a series of shorts as part of Cartoon Network's' DC Nation':

The 'Super Pets', debuted with 'Krypto' the superdog in DC's "Adventure" #210 (1955). 

'The Legion of Super-Pets' debuted in "Adventure Comics" #293 (1962).

The original Legion roster included Krypto, 'Comet' the superhorse, 'Streaky' the supercat, 'Beppo' the supermonkey and 'shape-shifter' 'Proty II'.

Significant appearances include "Adventure" #322 (July 1964) when 'Proty II' is initiated into the team and "Adventure" #343 (April 1966), when the pets help the 'Legion of Super-Heroes' battle the 'Luck Lords'.

"Adventure" #364 (January 1968) was titled, "The Revolt of the Super-Pets!" 

The team rarely appeared after the 'Silver Age' except for Krypto who became a supporting character in several "Superman" titles.
