Nishimura is a quiet girl, teased by her classmates and called the "Grim Reaper." But new transfer student, Takada, happily chooses to become friends with her. Instead of fearing her "curse," he finds everything about Nishimura to be cool.
Nishimura and Takada continue to hang out: Serving school lunches, trying to photograph ghosts, and playing video games. Nishimura meets Takada's sister, Yukiko. The siblings' endless praise and encouragement keeps Nishimura blushing.
Nishimura finds a kitty, whose pictures charm cat-loving classmate, Kasahara. Everyone begins making agendas for summer break. Nishimura is self-conscious about her empty schedule, but Takada is excited that they can make plans together.
Nishimura (Also known as the Grim Reaper) visits her grandma for the summer. Little does anyone know, Nishimura will have the experience of her lifetime when Grandma narrates her childhood, and the adventures she had with legendary artist Tupac Shakur.
