The first princess of the Kingdom of Palettia, Anisphia, has always loved magic yet cannot use it herself. So to compensate, she uses her memories of her previous life on Earth to invent all sorts of magical gadgets in hopes of one day achieving her dream of flying through the sky on a magic broom. Unfortunately, this also led her to become a troublemaker who pushed her responsibilities onto her younger brother, Algard. As part of his duties, the crown prince has an arranged marriage with Euphyllia, the daughter of his father's adviser. However, despite the young lady's attempts for their relationship to work, there is no love between them.

Taking Euphyllia to their respective fathers, king Orphans and prime minister Grantz, Anisphia informs them about her brother breaking off the engagement, much to their shock. As they wonder what is to become of Euphyllia, Anisphia offers to take her in as a research assistant and split the profits between them.

Anisphia and Euphyllia have begun living together, but Euphyllia has yet to adjust to her new surroundings and appears to be at the mercy of Anisphia so Anisphia creates a special magic tool to cheer her up.

Euphyllia falls ill with fatigue, but with Anisphia's gentle nursing and warm words, she quickly recovers. Ilia tells Euphyllia about her own past and Anisphia's true intentions. An urgent message arrives from the Adventurers' Guild.

Anisphia and Euphyllia arrive on the battlefield. Anisphia struggles to face the dragon with only her magical tools and ingenuity, but Euphyllia won't let her fight alone.

Anisphia, Euphyllia, and Ilia visit Tilty to discuss plans for the dragon's magicite. Anisphia is summoned by her parents to aid in the continuing investigation into the annulment of Euphyllia's engagement.

Lainie moves into the princess's villa. Anisphia and Tilty begin to investigate Lainie's ability, prompting an uneasy conversation between Tilty and Euphyllia. Anisphia is summoned to give a speech before the Ministry of the Arcane.

The alarm goes off at the villa. Ilia and Lainie try to flee, but are intercepted by the intruder. Anisphia and Euphyllia rush back from the post-lecture party, only to find a heartbreaking sight awaiting them. Anisphia prepares to fight.

Anisphia faces off against Algard as Euphie tries to heal Ilia and Lainie. Al's newly acquired power allows him to regenerate, forcing Anis to use her dragon magic and fight to kill. The siblings reflect on the events that led them here.

With Algard disinherited, Anisphia's right to the throne is restored. Resigning herself to her royal obligations, Anis clears out the lab and puts up a happy facade, as those around her grow concerned. Euphyllia comes to a realization.

As Anisphia struggles to win the nobles' support, Euphyllia reveals her intention to forge a spirit contract so she might inherit the throne in the princess's place. Anisphia opens up to Tilty and has a heart-to-heart with Euphyllia.

Euphyllia doesn't want Anisphia to sacrifice her own happiness to become queen. Anisphia doesn't want Euphyllia to give up everything to complete a spirit contract. The two settle their disagreement with a duel.
