The second season, tentatively titled Super Megaforce, incorporated elements from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (2011). That makes Megaforce the first hybrid adaptation since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993) that was spawned from three different Super Sentai series.

The series contains some similarities to the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The Rangers' mentor Gosei, who is revealed to be an apprentice of the original mentor Zordon, commands his robot assistant Tensou to teleport five teenagers to their headquarters, which Tensou at first declines. The rangers hang out at a yogurt place owned by a guy named Ernie.

In the last episode during the legacy battle the Red Turbo Ranger makes an appearance with the rest of the turbo rangers, but the only two actors who portrayed the Red Turbo Ranger were Sewlyn Ward and Jason David Frank and they already make appearances as the Green Mighty Morphin Ranger and the Blue Space Ranger. So the Red Turbo Ranger in theory should not have been there.
