"He's done this before." Vertical Ent. has debuted the official trailer for a serial killer thriller titled Killer Among Us, formerly known as No Human Involved. The short synopsis isn't very descriptive: On the 4th of July, a rookie female cop partners with a veteran detective to save the life of a high-school student from a radicalized serial killer. But the full synopsis explains there's a more complex set of issues - after witnessing a crime, she tries to bring the abduction to her superiors who ignore it as just another situation involving a junkie. But Alisha persists and even investigates off duty, eventually getting a "wearily hardened" detective involved to help her with solving the case. Killer Among Us stars Yasha Jackson, Andrew Richardson, Bruce MacVittie, and Imani Lewis. This doesn't look that exciting, unless you're into serial killer stories. We are pleased to debut the trailer for Charles Scharfman's feature film debut, the crime thriller Killer Among Us.   On the 4th of July, a rookie female cop partners with a veteran detective to save the life of a high-school student from a radicalized serial killer.    If you like your crime thrillers timely and poignant then Killer Among Us should be worth checking out. No issue fixes itself in a day but if Scharfman knew then when he started filming Killer Among Us that a couple years later his film would be even more relevant he might be a bit sad about that. Katherine Fugate has a new agency home. The Army Wives creator and writer behind two of Garry Marshall’s “holiday” movies has signed with Paradigm for representation.

Along with creating the 2007-13 Lifetime drama Army Wives from ABC Studios and the Mark Gordon Company, Fugate also penned several episodes. Her feature writing include Marshall’s star-laden pics New Year’s Eve (2011) and Valentine’s Day (2010), along with the 2004 romantic comedy The Prince & Me. A former member of the WGA board of directors, she also wrote the 2012 Lifetime telepic A Killer Among Us.

Fugate also is a women’s right activist who was worked with Michelle Obama, and she co-founded a group called “First They Came” under the umbrella of Beau Willimon’s Action Group Network. She also often appears on Sirius Xm: Progress Radio.

She continues to be repped by HertzbergMedia and Chad Christopher at Stone Genow.

Naketha Mattocks has been named VP Original Movies at Disney Channels, where she will oversee creative development for the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, reporting to Evp Original Programming Adam Bonnett. She succeeds Svp Original Movies Michael Healy, who left the company in April after nearly 16 years and more than 90 Disney Channel movies to pursue other opportunities. The next installment in Disney Channel’s original movie franchise, Teen Beach Movie, premieres July 19. Mattocks comes from an independent film and television producer background. Last year, she was a consultant for Lifetime, where she served as an executive on such telefilms as Betty and Coretta, A Killer Among Us, Twist of Faith and House of Versace. From 2006-11 Mattocks was Head of Development for writer-director Gary Ross’s Larger Than Life and before that she was an executive for more than three years at Paramount Pictures, supervising development and production for Alfie,...
