New month, new titles! With January underway, Max has released dozens of library titles, including “The Breakfast Club,” “Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb,” and much, much more.

But the streamer is preparing for a big month from all of its brands, including the Bleacher Report, the platform will carry multiple big match-ups, including the NBA Rivals Week games on Jan. 23 (New York Knicks at Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers at LA Clippers) and Jan. 25 (Boston Celtics at Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors).

There’s plenty more still to come throughout the month, including the highly anticipated return of “True Detective” with its latest installment, entitled “Night Country” and starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis.

One of HBO’s former hot properties returns in a big way this January, as True Detective season four finally arrives on the service. Will this be a return to form for the gritty show? Well, that remains unclear, but this time around the anthology series will follow detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) as the long winter darkness in Alaska. When eight people at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace, these detectives need to get on the case quickly.

Also hitting Max this month is the final season of Sort Of. Season three finds Sabi (Bilal Baig) dealing with the unexpected death of their father, and making some big life choices as a result.

This month, free streaming service Pluto TV will premiere the new kids’ animated series “Shaq’s Garage.” The show focuses on the secret adventures of basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal’s extraordinary collection of cars, trucks, and other unique vehicles, known as the Shaq Pack. The show will debut on June 5.

The 1994 Australian road comedy “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” was eye-opening at its debut. The movie centers on two drag queens and a transgender woman crossing the Outback en route to a nightclub performance. Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce, and Terence Stamp star in the comedy that helped introduce LGBTQ themes to a mainstream audience. The film arrives on the service on June 1.

Written by Leslye Headland, Assistance centers on Nora (Ritter), an idealistic “working girl” assistant who is pulled between her colleague (Cregger) and her real-life fiance (Peter Cambor) while trying to manage a demanding boss. Cregger’s casting is in second position to Guys With Kids. Both projects are with NBC/Universal TV. I hear that was important to Cregger who wanted to remain loyal to his current series and didn’t entertain interest from pilots on other nets. Cregger, repped by Wme and Principato-Young, is starring in the Lionsgate film Gay Dude as well as the indie The Bounceback, which premiers at the SXSW film festival. Although he made a big splash playing Specialist Owen Eldridge in The Hurt Locker, I haven’t really heard much about Brian Geraghty in the time since. Sure, he’s had numerous bit parts in various films over the years, but nothing that tops his performance in the 6-time Oscar winning film. Maybe this news will change things, as THR says the actor has been cast to lead the indie picture Kilimanjaro.

Written and directed by Walter Strafford, the film, as you may have guessed, centers “on a man who is determined to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro after a recent breakup.” Geraghty will most obviously be playing said man, with a shoot starting sometime next month. This marks Strafford‘s feature length debut — he has directed various shorts including, Tilting at Windmills and, most recently, Weekend Plans.

I actually re-watched The Hurt Locker just last week, so this is pretty intriguing news for me.

After a break-out turn in Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker," where he went toe-to-toe with Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty hasn't exactly risen at the same trajectory as his two former co-stars; his most high-profile roles to date are in the yet-be-released ensemble rom-com "Ten Year" and the universally-panned horror flick "Atm."

We certainly had high hopes for the young actor, even championing him for the lead in 'Captain America' when that role was up for grabs. On the horizon, he has a supporting turn in Robert Zemeckis' "Flight," which should prove another opportunity for him to shine, and the actor remains prominent in the indie scene with a handful of films, including two from helmer Chris Nelson (the classily titled double of "Gay Dude" & "Ass Backwards") and a starring role opposite Krysten Ritter in "Refuge."

“Only Fools and Horses”, the British sitcom which has been named the greatest comedy of all time on numerous occasions on these shores is being remade for American audiences by ABC.

A Brit hit translation for Us screens is not uncommon of course, with Ricky Gervais’ The Office being the most recent big success to be transferred stateside and to huge success at NBC.

When a U.S. Only Fools was first announced many British fans instantly expected this to fail, with even Del Boy himself David Jason being skeptical of the possibility of it being anything other than a failure. Early judgement was to be expected, but as news snippets and details of casting come out, are there signs that this ‘horse’ may have legs?

"The Office" writer-producer-actress and newly minted best-selling author Mindy Kaling will next try her hand at animation.

Kaling and "Office"/"Parks and Recreation" executive producer Greg Daniels are collaborating on an animated comedy for NBC about a high school volleyball team. Kaling will write the script, serve as executive producer with Daniels and Howard Klein and also voice one of the characters, Deadline reports.

The project is one of two animated shows Daniels, a former "Simpsons" writer and co-creator of "King of the Hill," has in development at NBC. He's also exec producing a show about a group of guys who share a house in a swanky L.A. neighborhood from "Parks and Rec" writer Alan Yang.

"Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman is also in talks to join the film; he would, quite hilariously, play an assistant principal at the school where Paul's character teaches.

There's just something about Paul and dark roles; he just wrapped up filming "Right Angle," a drama about a fast-living salesman who becomes a paraplegic. As for Offerman, he'll next appear in the Spanish language Will Ferrell comedy, "Casa de Mi Padre," and then the comedy, "Gay Dude," with wife Megan Mullally.

[1] Breakout star Melissa McCarthy has signed up for ID Theft, which will team her with the ubiquitous but charming Jason Bateman. As suggested by the title, the comedy follows a man who becomes the target of identity theft. Bateman will play the victim, and McCarthy the thief. McCarthy's role was originally written for a man, but Bateman (who's also producing) pushed to cast McCarthy in the part after seeing her inspired, scene-stealing performance in Bridesmaids. Shooting for ID Theft will begin April 2012, at the start of McCarthy's hiatus from Mike & Molly. Real life couple and hilarious TV exes, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have together signed on to play parents of two best friends in an upcoming comedy. Titled "Gay Dude," Variety relays that it's about two best friends, played by Nicholas Braun and Hunter Cope, who vow to get laid before their senior prom -- shades of "American Pie" -- before one of the kids comes out as gay to the other.

Offerman will play supportive father to the gay friend, while Mullally will be mother to the other friend. The pair are, of course, the hilariously combustible divorcees Ron Swanson and Tammy (two), who manipulate each other into sex and political favors. This season will see the addition of Swanson's first ex wife named Tammy, to be played by Patricia Clarkson, who terrifies Mullally's Tammy character.

"Gay Dude" follows the misadventures of two high school seniors who vow to lose their virginity before prom, a quest that becomes more surprising and convoluted when one of them comes out of the closet.

Oh, these wacky high-concept rom coms --finding love (and getting laid) is just never easy, is it?

Johnson's role is currently unknown but it might be safe to assume that her character is targeted for possibly assisting one of the boys in fulfilling his goal. She joins a cast that includes Nicholas Braun ("Red State," "Prom"), newcomer Hunter Cope and Dreama Walker ("Gossip Girl").
