Most of today’s horror fans are very aware of Sid Haig and his role as the notorious Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005). But what many fans aren’t aware of is that Sid Haig’s career dates back to 1960 with over 60 film and over 350 television appearances. He’s been in the business for over 50 years and has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Lon Chaney Jr., Omar Sharif, Sean Connery, George Lucas, and Quentin Tarantino. Haig started making a name for himself while working with director Jack Hill in his exploitation films such as Spider Baby (1968), Pit Stop (1969), The Big Doll House (1971), and The Big Bird Cage (1972). He continued working in Hollywood in a variety of villainous roles including Diamonds are Forever (1971), Coffy (1973), Foxy Brown (1974), Savage Sisters (1974), Jackie Brown (1997), and Kill Bill vol.

Matthan Harris, creator of the independent horror flick The Infliction, has announced that Italian composer Marco Werba will be writing the score for the film. To go along with this news, Harris supplied us with a new set of stills.

The Infliction stars genre favorites Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Doug Bradley and Giovanni Lombardo Radice alongside Matthan Harris, Lindsay Hightower, Charles Duran, Gerardo Davila and Amy Erin Amory. Texas is a strange, strange place. Most horror fans think about chainsaws when you say the name Texas around them, and that's not a huge stretch from the truth. Bigger than many nations, Texas contains every variety of landscape and community found elsewhere in the Us. It also contains no small amount of weirdness and weirdos. Inspired by the Texas Frightmakers panels at last year's Texas Frightmare Weekend as well as my love for my adopted home, I'm proud to introduce a series of monthly interviews called Texas Frightmakers.
I'll be speaking with horror folks from all over the state and all aspects of horror. The genre is thriving in Texas, with horrors of every shape and kind popping up all over the state. It's my hope that you'll discover some people you otherwise wouldn't and come to appreciate Texas for the horror hotbed that it is.

Under the pseudonym John Morghen, actor Giovanni Lombardo Radice appeared in a string of Italian gorefests, helmed by the industry’s masters of horror like Umberto Lenzi (Cannibal Ferox), Lucio Fulci (City Of The Living Dead), Michele Soavi (The Sect and Stagefright) and Lamberto Bava (Body Puzzle). The cultured Radice met gruesome fates in most of these bloody films and generally portrayed shady characters. Now, in the U.S. production The Infliction, Radice plays a good guy for a change, Lieutenant Lorenzo, who’s hard at work on a diabolical serial killer case in Dallas, Texas (see previous item here). Fango spoke with Radice about writer/director/star Matthan Harris’ The Infliction, and we also got some exclusive pics to boot.
