Apple TV+ released a new trailer for its drama “Fancy Dance” starring Lily Gladstone and Isabel Deroy-Olson.

The film follows Jax (Gladstone), who has cared for her niece Rokie (Deroy-Olson) since her sister’s disappearance by scraping by on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma. Every spare minute goes into finding her missing sister while also helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow. Jerry Springer, the former Cincinnati news anchor and mayor who became best known for his controversial daytime talk show, has died at the age of 79.

Springer died peacefully Thursday at his home in suburban Chicago after a “brief illness,” a spokesperson confirmed to TheWrap. A source told TheWrap that Springer was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

“Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word,” Jene Galvin, a lifelong friend and spokesperson for the family said. “He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.”

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal all of the Emmy episode submissions for the seven 2018 contenders as Best Drama Series. Each program enters six episodes from this past season, and those will be available for voters to view on the Television Academy voter portal.

Last year’s champ “The Handmaid’s Tale” returns to defend its title but will face off for the first time against two-time winner “Game of Thrones,” which was not eligible to compete in 2017. Other contenders back from last year’s race are “The Crown,” “Stranger Things,” “This Is Us” and “Westworld.” Returning after an absence is the final season of “The Americans.”

Cherry Jones returned to the Emmy race with a guest spot on Hulu’s mega-hit “The Handmaid’s Tale.” It’s her first nomination since winning Best Drama Supporting Actress for “24” in 2009, despite memorable appearances on “Transparent” and “American Crime.”

In “Baggage,” June (Elisabeth Moss) reflects on her tumultuous relationship with her mother, Holly (Jones), as she tries to escape from Gilead. A doctor at an abortion clinic, Holly is a rabble-rousing feminist fighting the horrific change she sees coming. She urges her daughter to get more involved rather than “settle” for a job as an assistant editor and marriage to Luke (O-t Fagbenle). Later, when it’s too late and June has been made a handmaid, she’s shown an orientation slideshow by Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) detailing how pollution has ruined the earth, and is horrified to see her mother laboring in one of the colonies.

The next time you’re squished into an economy seat on a cross-country flight and you can’t get up and pee because the beverage cart is blocking the aisle, comfort yourself with this thought: At least my trip is going better than June’s.

Because this week, The Handmaid’s Tale stuffs the former ‘maid into a plane’s cargo hold and promises her freedom… until a hail of bullets brings her voyage on Get Me the Hell Outta Here Airlines ends abruptly — and far short of its desired destination.

One of the themes of Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale” is “Gilead is within you” and you can’t ever escape it. That seems to be the case for Samira Wiley’s Moira in Episode 3, who decides to go by Ruby again — the name she took on while being forced to work at a brothel in the dystopian society that was once the United States.

“I think that that, specifically that episode, is highlighting the other part of freedom that I was talking about, in terms of the loneliness and in that episode she definitely wants to connect with someone else,” Wiley told TheWrap in a recent interview. “But then she realizes that this connection is with a stranger and she doesn’t know if she feels comfortable enough to go there with her and be open with who she is, so that’s why she reverts to being Ruby.”

In Wednesday’s installment, titled “Baggage,” Wiley’s character is seen living in Canada with her best friend June’s (Elisabeth Moss) husband Luke (O-t Fagbenle). While the two are safe and trying to lead a normal life after escaping to the Great White North, it’s easier said than done. And when Moira goes out to a club one night and has a sexual encounter with a woman, when her potential new love interest asks for her name to stay in touch she respond with the moniker she used while forced to entertain the elite men of Gilead at Jezebels.

“The Handmaid’s Tale” has three strong contenders this year in the Emmy race for Best Drama Guest Actress, having won the category last year for Alexis Bledel’s role in the first season. Bledel was promoted to the main cast for the in-progress second season and is expected to reap a nomination for Best Drama Supporting Actress this summer. Jones has five minutes of screen time in the season’s third episode, titled “Baggage.” Holly is a brash feminist who is disapproving of her daughter June’s (Elisabeth Moss) career path and fiancé Luke Bankole (O-t Fagbenle) in flashbacks. Jones won the Emmy for Best Drama Supporting Actress in 2009 for “24.” For “Transparent,” Jones shared in a 2015 Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Comedy Ensemble and was nominated for a 2015 Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Guest Actress.

After three episodes of being on the run, June/Offred (Elisabeth Moss) has been captured — and will be sent back to her commander’s house in Gilead.

“This is a police state that really wants to hold onto these handmaids. The chances are that they would catch her — the chances are that she wouldn’t even get away,” showrunner Bruce Miller tells Variety. “We felt like she got away for a long time — she was much more successful than they ever would have wanted her to be in a totalitarian state. So our decision [to have her captured now] was just based on what the reality would be.”

The third hour of the second season of Hulu's Emmy-winning Handmaid's Tale, "Baggage," brought the recently liberated June (Elisabeth Moss) back down to Earth — or back down to Gilead, more accurately. (Major spoiler alert: Please do not read ahead unless you’ve seen “Unwomen,” the second episode of Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”)

The Colonies of Gilead — radioactive wastelands being cleaned up by condemned criminals — are not places women are meant to survive. And the fastest way to cut your life expectancy even shorter in these toxic prisons is to get on Ofglen/Emily’s (Alexis Bledel) bad side. Too bad no one told that to Marisa Tomei when she guest starred on “Unwomen,” the second episode of Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

“Well, Emily has been traumatized again and again to such a degree that you know, I think part of her spirit has broken,” Bledel told TheWrap in an interview ahead of the Hulu series’ sophomore premiere Wednesday.

“She’s really decided to take justice into her own hands. So when Marisa Tomei’s character arrives, a wife — which is very unusual in the Colonies — it does sort of trigger something in her mind and she does sort of formulate this, not so much a plan, but she makes a decision to kind of take her down. You don’t know that until the end of the episode.”

The installment saw Emily (Bledel) — a former handmaid banished to the Colonies for several acts of rebellion — meet a Wife (Tomei) who has also been sent there for cheating on her husband. Emily was a cellular biologist before the creation of Gilead and now serves as an ad hoc medic to her fellow prisoners. That background comes in handy when she decides to get her revenge on the Wife for the part she’s played in promoting and supporting Gilead’s misogynist nightmare.

Emily tells the Wife that the water in their barracks is full of E. Coli, and gives her pills to take to stave off infection, saying it’s because “a mistress was kind” to her once.

Later that night, Emily finds the woman vomiting and reveals that she has actually given the Wife poison. “Every month you held a woman down while your husband raped her. Some things can’t be forgiven.”

Bledel said that the episode had her on her toes as Emily, “has this care-taking energy one moment, and little do you know she’s plotting this violent act at the next. She’s an extremely complex character.”

Shock talk show host Jerry Springer is no stranger to outrageous behavior - especially nudity. So, when he saw the photos of Prince Harry rubbing on ladies while naked in the privacy of his own VIP suite in Las Vegas, the veteran TV host was astounded people made it into such a big deal. "Honestly, what did he do?" Springer, 68, told People on Thursday. "He was in his own room. I don't know what the scandal is. He wasn't with anyone he shouldn't have been with.
