The "Pitch Perfect" franchise is kind of a strange beast, and it's not just because of the acapella. Despite the fact that the movies follow the law of diminishing returns, with each entry being just a bit less aca-awesome than the last, the spin-off Peacock series, "Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin," is actually a lot of fun. With showrunner Megan Amram at the helm, "Bumper in Berlin" was a sweet, silly continuation of the "Pitch Perfect" movies that fully leaned into its main character, Bumper Allen. Played by Adam DeVine, Bumper was more of a villain in the first "Pitch Perfect" movie before eventually becoming a protagonist in his own right, and DeVine's annoying-little-brother-esque performance is, well, pitch perfect. Throw in Flula Borg reprising his role as Pieter Krämer from "Pitch Perfect 2," "Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland as his assistant and Bumper's love interest, "The Good Place" star...

On his 58th birthday, Adam Sandler confirmed that Happy Gilmore 2 has officially begun production.
In an Instagram post, the actor and comedian shared a photo of the Boston Bruins jersey he famously wore in the first film. “It ain’t over. The way I see it… we’ve only just begun,” he captioned the post, once again referencing the original movie.

Back in the spring, we got the surprising news that one of Netflix's many original movies featuring comedian Adam Sandler was going to be a sequel to the beloved sports comedy "Happy Gilmore." That's right, the hockey player who wasn't too strong on ice skates but had one hell of a drive off the golf tee is coming back for a new movie. We're still waiting to see what the story will be this time, but during a recent appearance on "The Tonight Show" to promote his new comedy special "Adam Sandler: Love You," the Sandman took some time to hype up "Happy Gilmore 2," and he even confirmed one of the big cameos we'll see in the movie.
As Sandler told host Jimmy Fallon and the live audience:
"People have been asking me for a long time, 'Do Happy Gilmore 2,' and I was always like, 'Nah, I'll only let you down.

Exclusive: Comedian Tom Segura has identified the most promising vehicle yet to showcase his acting chops, as Deadline understands that he’s in talks for multiple roles in Dirty Rotten Bastard, a show biz-centric indie from Ed Helms & Mike Falbo’s Pacific Electric Picture Company.
Helmed by Ryan McNeely and Josh Martin, aka The Director Brothers, the film tells the insane true story of an aspiring filmmaker who is kidnapped by deranged lounge singer Tony Clifton. Initially drawn to document Clifton’s world, he is thrust into a chaotic journey of sex, celebrity, and comedy, blurring the lines between observer and participant, and testing his sanity.
Segura will play legendary avant-garde comedian Andy Kaufman’s larger-than-life comedic persona Clifton, as well as the performer’s friend and longtime collaborator Bob Zmuda.

Great shows can be forgotten due to outside factors like overshadowing by other shows or short-lived airtime. Strong concepts and captivating performances aren't always enough to ensure a lasting place in the public's memory. Shows like Preacher, Life Unexpected, and Workaholics were highly praised during their airing but faded from public conversations over time.
Sometimes, great television shows from years ago fall under the radar, leading the general public to forget about their existence. Yet, it's not always the content of the show that makes audiences forget. Oftentimes with these shows, the characters and material are spoken highly of by critics and the shows' devoted fan bases, but are forgotten due to outside factors. Whether it's because they get overshadowed by the success and popularity of other shows or their time on television screens was short-lived, they're no longer part of larger public conversations.

The 2023 Goosebumps reboot features a mix of familiar faces and relatively unknown actors as its main characters. Justin Long, known for comedic roles, plays the strange and unhinged Mr. Bratt, who is possessed by the ghost of Harold Biddle. Rachael Harris, a comedy veteran, takes on the role of Nora, a guilt-ridden mother, while Rob Huebel plays the understanding guidance counselor, Colin.
While 2023’s Goosebumps reboot features a couple of familiar faces, some of the show’s main characters are played by relatively unknown cast members. The Goosebumps franchise began as a series of successful children’s horror novels in the ‘90s. The success of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books inevitably spawned a TV adaptation, and that show became a starting point for future stars. Ryan Gosling famously appeared in an episode of Goosebumps long before he was famous. 2015 also saw the arrival of a live-action Goosebumps movie starring Dylan Minnette,...

Jason Segel and long-time girlfriend Alexis Mixter split in 2021 after an eight-year relationship. Mixter is a photographer and works behind the scenes in show business, with experience in the art department of film and TV projects. Mixter is now married to comedian Joshua Dean, and they had a heartfelt wedding in the Pacific Northwest.
In 2021, actor Jason Segel split with his long-time girlfriend Alexis Mixter, and she has continued to pursue a successful career in the arts. Popular film and TV veteran Jason Segel first rose to prominence in the early 2000s in projects with producer Judd Apatow, and the cult classic series Freaks and Geeks ostensibly introduced the budding actor to the world. Known for his affable everyman characters, Segel became a household name as Marshall in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and it wasn't long before he was a bona fide movie star in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and 2011's The Muppets.

“Workaholics” and “The Righteous Gemstones” star Adam DeVine called out Variety, saying the trade magazine misrepresented his comments about Marvel movies in a podcast interview.
While promoting his latest Netflix movie “The Out-Laws” on Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend” podcast, DeVine gave his theory about why there have been fewer theatrical comedies in recent years, crediting the shift to audiences expecting to see “$200 million” movies in theaters. DeVine blamed Marvel and “superhero movies” for creating that expectation.
That interview led to Variety posting an article titled “Adam Devine Says Marvel Movies ‘Ruined Comedies’: They ‘Make Those Movies Kind of Funny,’ But ‘It’s Not Real Comedy.'” A social media post promoting the article read, “Adam Devine: ‘You watch comedies nowadays and you’re like, this is not a f—ing comedy…My theory: I think Marvel ruined it.'”

Los Angeles, Aug 8 (Ians) Actor Adam Devine has shared his theory that Marvel movies and other superhero films killed the traditional Hollywood comedy.
The ‘Workaholics’ and ‘Pitch Perfect’ actor recently appeared on Theo Von’s ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast during his press tour for Netflix’s ‘The Out-Laws’ and shared his theory, reports Variety.
The actor noted that because Marvel movies rely so much on humour they ended up becoming Hollywood’s new de facto comedy films.
“You watch comedies nowadays and you’re like, this is not a f****** comedy,” Devine said.
“Where are the jokes? Where are the bits? There are still good (comedy) shows, but movie comedy, it’s hard. My theory: I think Marvel ruined it. I feel like superhero movies ruined comedies because you go to the theatre and you expect to watch something that cost $200 million to make, and comedy movies aren’t that.

Game shows have been a staple of the world's television-viewing diet since the medium's infancy. "Spelling Bee" first hit the British telly in 1938, while "Truth or Consequences" made a one-off debut on New York City's Wnbt in 1941. Our fascination with smarty pants contestants flaunting their vast trivia knowledge brought us the high-stakes duo of NBC's "Twenty-One" and CBS' "The 64,000 Question," which led to the 1950s quiz show scandals.
Over a half-century later, we're still hooked on programs like "Jeopardy," "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price Is Right." Some of these shows require contestants to be genuinely well-read; others ask people to be semi-knowledgeable about retail value and physically capable of spinning a big wheel. Regardless of the skill (or utter lack thereof) involved, there is something undeniably thrilling about watching a regular working stiff go on live television and win a decent chunk of change. Renowned alumni of the Jeffersonian Institute pulled out their security badges and patches to assemble Friday morning for a lively “Bones” writers strike reunion picket outside Fox Studios.
The gathering of writers, actors, directors and crew members from the Fox drama series proved once again that “Bones” was one of TV’s happiest sets during its 12-season run from 2005-2017. Star Emily Deschanel, who played forensic anthropologist Temperance “Bones” Brennan on the procedural, was in attendance at the picket held on Day 67 of Writers Guild of America strike. So were series showrunners Hart Hanson, Stephen Nathan, Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson and writer-producers including Liz Benjamin, Dean Lopata, Janet Lin and Karine Rosenthal.
“All the truisms of why a show is a happy, non-toxic place is why ‘Bones’ was such a happy place,” Hanson told Variety. “Who is No. 1 on the call sheet? What is that person like? What is No.

The ex-007 plays a criminal father-in-law in an Adam Sandler-ushered action comedy that misses every time
Nothing strikes fear in the heart of a film critic more than pressing play on a new comedy and immediately seeing those ominous four words: “A Happy Madison Production”. Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd’s Dave is back with season 3. Naturally, many viewers are curious about the cast of the Fxx/Hulu series and where they might have seen the actors before. Find out what shows and movies Andrew Santino, Taylor Misiak, Christine Ko, Travis “Taco” Bennett, and GaTa have been in before, plus who the richest is out of the Dave cast.
Dave ‘Lil Dicky’ Burd and GaTa in season 3 of ‘Dave’ | Byron Cohen/FX Lil Dicky is the wealthiest ‘Dave’ cast member
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lil Dicky is worth an estimated $8 million in 2023. The rapper hasn’t released new music in some time, which means he hasn’t gone on tour and earned money from that revenue stream. Instead, he has been focused on writing new music and his Fxx series.
Burd’s co-star Santino, who plays his manager in the comedy series, ranks second when it comes to net worth.

Days after Showtime cut bait on the already completed series “Three Women” starring Shailene Woodley, Starz has swooped in to acquire and rescue the show, as first reported in THR. However, an individual with knowledge told IndieWire that negotiations for the rights to the show were still underway.
THR also reported that “Three Women,” which is based on the book by Lisa Taddeo, was also shopped to HBO and Amazon before it landed at Starz.
Starz had no comment.
Though it’s already finished principal production, Showtime followed a trend that began with “Batgirl,” in which streamers and networks cut their losses and take tax write-offs for already completed or in-the-works projects. Should a deal close, “Three Women” would add to Starz’s previously rescuing the upcoming second season of “Minx,” which first premiered on HBO last year. That show was produced by Starz’s parent company, Lionsgate TV.
