Macau casino operator, Sands China entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese streaming company Tencent Video and Chinese cinema ticketing firm Maoyan Entertainment. The three parties will team up to host large-scale offline events, content creation of lifestyle and entertainment programs and online marketing and promotion.

Operating The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao and The Londoner Macao casino resorts, Sands runs several large entertainment facilities in Macau, including the 15,000-seat Cotai Arena, the 1,800-seat Venetian Theatre, the 6,000-seat The Londoner Arena, the 1,200-seat The Parisian Theatre, and the 1,700-seat Londoner Theatre.

The three will co-organize events in Macau including live performances, concerts, films, TV series, variety shows, sports and cultural activities. Among the first is the “Tencent Video All Star Night 2023.” Maoyan will handle ticket sales.

The move dials into a growing wave of international success for Korean unscripted TV shows, following on from earlier success for Korean scripted dramas such as “Squid Game” and “Crash Landing on You.” It also amplifies the growing reach of Korean beauty standards and the cosmetic brands that support them.

“Get it Beauty” has run for 18 seasons in Korea since launching in 2006. It is hosted by three beauty icons, who invite beauty specialists such as physical trainers, hairdressers, and make-up artists into the studio to demonstrate their expertise to a live studio audience who actively participate in the tutorials. It has made stars of some of the specialists and catapulted some products to commercial success – it awards a mark of commendation to products coming top in its tests.

Former Investigation Discovery chief Kevin Bennett and “Anatomy of Murder” podcast co-host and producer Scott Weinberger are launching Authentic Wave, a new multi-media podcast venture focused on the true-crime genre.

The New York-based venture will develop and produce premium true-crime and mystery series with unique audio and video components available for distribution on multiple platforms, including original productions, co-produced, and re-versioned content.

Bennett, who exited Warner Bros. Discovery in 2021 after several years spent serving as the general manager of ID, and Weinberger, a vet of both the investigative journalism and law enforcement fields, have previously collaborated on multiple TV projects at ID.

“Scott and I worked to launch the true crime phenomenon on cable TV and now we are thrilled to bring our experience to this medium,” Bennett told Variety. “With our combined expertise in the crime and mystery space, we know how to tell incredibly compelling true crime stories...

Robert "Joe" Halderman, the former CBS News producer who went to jail for trying to blackmail David Letterman, has secured a job at "On the Case with Paula Zahn," a weekly news magazine on the Investigation Discovery Channel.
