Ida begins studying psychology. She is afraid of most things, but her biggest fear is terror. Things don't get any better when she meets Aksel, who spends a lot of time on online incel forums.
Ida is charmed by the Volt messenger Jonas, while she tries to find her place at Blindern. At the same time, Aksel wants her help with the exam. Ida is introduced to the idea of sleeping with an incel to prevent terror.
In an attempt to avoid Aksel, Ida runs away to her father in Southern Norway. When she arrives, it turns out that there is much that her father has not told her about his life.
Aksel begins to behave differently, and abruptly cuts off contact with Ida, which worries her. Siri from the study has become single and is looking for a rebound, which gives Ida an idea that can potentially benefit both Aksel and Siri.
Ida's fatal misstep with Aksel causes major problems for her, and she tries to keep her fears at bay by distracting herself with Jonas; Aksel has no intention of letting her get away so easily.
Aksel's influence on Ida's life is about to destroy her relationship with Jonas. Ida seeks out her mother in the hope of being able to get some advice, but her mother turns out to be of little support, and bad childhood memories flare up.
Aksel prepares for a day that could change his life; two police officers, investigating a case of violence against an unidentified young woman who has been beaten to death, are led by the clues to Ida's student accommodation.
Ida tries desperately to get in touch with Aksel, and seeks out his mother in an attempt to find him; Ida tries to open up to her brother about her worries about Aksel, but in the end has to make an important choice.
