Netflix can’t get enough of Harlan Coben. With eight projects already released and plenty more in development, production, or post-production, what harm could one more do? Today, Netflix confirmed it has greenlit its first US adaptation of the 2023 novel I Will Find You, with Avatar star Sam Worthington set to headline.
Entering production early next year, the new limited series will have eight episodes and largely follow the novel’s events. Robert Hull has joined the project, saying in a press release, “I’ve been a fan of Harlan’s novels for as long as I can remember, and the chance to bring this story to life with him, Jinny, Peter, and the incredible team at Netflix has been a dream come true.”

The world of comedy has no shortage of stars, and there are many seasoned and upcoming stars who have made a name for themselves. When it comes to financial success, one would think that the seasoned actors like Jerry Seinfeld or Adam Sandler would be way ahead of the recent comedy school graduates. However, that is far from the truth; as per 2025 rankings, Kevin Hart has surpassed them all.

Hart, apart from being an actor and comedian, is also a producer, host, and more, and has accumulated a massive net worth thanks to his many ventures. Recently, he has been named the third highest-paid actor of 2024, shocking fans with his meteoric rise to success.

The London TV Screenings are a whirlwind of meetings, screenings, lunches and cocktail bashes for buyers. With so many vying for their attention, one savvy distributor found a novel way to get some quality time with the in-demand execs; provide a taxi service to and from the smorgasbord of events and shop them your wares during the ride.
Belgium-based Be Entertainment is the distrib in question. It got its own cab up and running to ferry buyers to and forth events this week.
Managing Director Gepke Nederlof told Deadline that the “Be-Entertaxi” was its alternative to fixing dozens of coffee meetings or hosting a screening amid the myriad happenings in TV Screenings week.
“We created the idea after hearing many buyers talking about having too many screenings and people to see with too little time,” she said. “We thought it might be a good idea to make their London stay easier…...

Sofia Carson in The Life List – Picture: Netflix
In March 2024, Netflix confirmed The Life List, a new romantic comedy starring Sofia Carson. The movie is due out on Netflix soon, so we’re here with everything known about it, including the full cast, production updates, plot details, and more on its release date, which is now set for March 28th.
Adam Brooks is on board to both write and direct the project. The Canadian screenwriter and director is no stranger to the romantic comedy space, having written or directed (or both) titles like Definitely, Maybe, and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, plus the Netflix Original movie Nappily Ever After, released in 2018.
This isn’t the first time The Lift List has been attempted to be brought to the big screen. Ahead of the book’s release in 2013, Fox 2000 optioned the film rights for the novel, with Hutch Parker set to produce.

Netflix has been serving up even more questionable streaming fare than usual of late. Dylan Sprouse's "Die Hard on a bridge" movie, "Aftermath," broke Netflix's film charts recently despite being what one viewer described as "visual cancer." It followed Amy Schumer's similar domination of the Netflix charts with her movie "Kinda Pregnant," a film that garnered a 28% Rotten Tomatoes score. That all transpired in the wake of Cameron Diaz's absolute domination of Netflix with her first movie in 11 years, "Back in Action," itself a 29-percenter on Rt. As such, the arrival of a half-decent true crime drama on the streamer's movie charts is a welcome development.

In 2023, Prime Video viewers evidently became transfixed by an adaptation of the Spanish-language YA story "Culpa mía" ("My Fault"). The movie followed a romance between Noah (Nicole Wallace) and Nick (Gabriel Guevara) and while it wasn't going to go down as one of the best romance movies of all time, it proved popular. Very popular. "Culpa Mia" debuted on Amazon Prime Video on June 8, 2023, and was an immediate hit, with Prime Video confirming that the movie had garnered the best opening three-day viewership figures for a non-English-language original on the platform.
Naturally, the company greenlit a follow-up. In fact, Amazon green-lit two sequels, set to be based on Mercedes Ron's "Culpa Tuya" and "Culpa Nuestra" stories. "Culpa Tuya" arrived on Prime Video December 27, 2024, and proved to be an even bigger hit than its predecessor, becoming Prime Video's biggest ever international original launch. But the company didn't stop there. If there's anyone that doesn't need saving, it's Rambo. But even Sylvester Stallone's nigh-on invincible action hero needs a helping hand from time to time — especially when his movie flops with critics. Enter: Netflix. The king of the streamers has extended its own muscular arm to John J. Rambo, making for the streaming version of that "epic handshake" meme. That is to say, the streamer has given "Rambo: Last Blood" a small reprieve following a devastating critical response upon its 2019 debut.
Back in the mid to late 2000s, Stallone returned to his two best-known characters, giving Rocky a heartfelt and surprisingly solid legacy sequel in 2006's "Rocky Balboa." Given how these legacy sequels typically go, it was an impressive feat for Stallone to have pulled off, especially since critics were mostly complimentary of the movie. He followed it up with yet another revisit, this time to the world of John Rambo.

Did you hear? Amy Schumer is about to be "Kinda Pregnant." That's how Netflix's Tudum chose to introduce the comedian's new film, and while such a headline might seem so confusing that nobody ever watched the movie, quite the opposite has transpired over on the king of the streaming platforms.
According to the site, the film is "about a woman who fakes a pregnancy — and maybe falls in love," which I can't help but think is all that was said in the pitch meeting before this one got the greenlight. Why? Because "Kinda Pregnant" has a 22% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and perhaps even more damning, a 23% audience score. Which is another way of saying that we have yet another middling streaming film on our hands.
Perhaps it's unfair to be so dismissive. After all, the great Will Forte is in "Kinda Pregnant," and it's produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison company.

Exclusive: Billy Magnussen has been tapped as the lead in AMC and AMC+’s untitled Jonathan Glatzer Silicon Valley series. He joins previously cast Sarah Goldberg.
The drama, produced by AMC Studios, is set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs and cutthroat private high schools. It is centered around a rift between a self-appointed “inventor of the future” tech CEO (Billy Magnussen) and his self-serving “performance psychologist” (Goldberg), who are engulfed in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data.
Magnussen’s Duncan is the co-founder of a Silicon Valley data-mining company.
Glatzer and Gina Mingacci executive produce the series, one of several high-profile Silicon Valley-set dramas that were put into development over the last year or so and the first to get a green light.
Magnussen most recently starred in HBO’s superhero movie satire series The Franchise from Sam Mendes and Armando Iannucci.

Netflix is facing competition from Prime Video and I don't just mean in terms of subscriber numbers. The former remains the undisputed winner of the streaming wars, with more than 300 million subscribers, despite the company's insistence on endless price hikes. Seriously, Netflix has become way too expensive for a service that still hasn't apologized for Kevin Hart's "Lift." Prime Video is the closest to challenging Netflix's reign, with 200 million subscribers of its own, but even then it's got a long way to go before it catches its competitor.
Now, it seems Jeff Bezos' streaming platform is challenging Netflix in another way: with instantly forgettable streaming movies. If you're still in doubt as to what such a thing is, 2025 should have already clarified things for you with films like Cameron Diaz's "Back in Action," which dominated the Netflix charts in January despite being horribly reviewed. It's not that all these films are bad.

The writer, director, and stars of "Forrest Gump" regroup after 30 years for a new high-concept drama. You can imagine this premise being easily sold to salivating studio execs. And yet, Robert Zemeckis' "Here" was an abject critical and commercial dud when it debuted in November 2024. What happened? Well, according to critics, the movie is just bad. More specifically it is, according to The Times' Kevin Maher, "like watching the Sims get dementia." What does that mean? You'll have to watch the movie to find out, which you can now readily do over on Netflix.
If, out of pure curiosity, you do decide to stream Zemeckis' misfire, you won't be the only one. Netflixers are currently giving the ill-fated drama a modest reprieve over on the streamer, with "Here" working its way up the most-watched charts. Did Kevin Kart almost die while Lift’s filming? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
On The Graham Norton Show, Kevin Hart opened up about a terrifying moment when the plane’s front wheel broke during landing, sending flames shooting out. “I almost died,” Hart said, recalling how he calmly accepted the situation. “It was one of those moments when I thought, ‘This is it.’” And just like that, he was cool with it—no panic, just pure calm.
While Hart’s near-death experience sounds like something out of a movie, it’s Lift that’s all about high stakes in the air. In the film, a group of criminals tries to steal $500 million in gold from a vault on a plane at 40,000 feet. Hart plays Cyrus, a mob boss who leads the heist. But here’s the twist—this movie marks Hart’s first serious role. “In this film, I’m an action star.

If nothing else, you can at least make the case that Netflix viewers have a certain kind of diverse taste. While the current situation is pretty dire, with Cameron Diaz's first movie in 11 years dominating the Netflix charts despite terrible reviews, last year we saw the director of "Green Room" top the same charts with the excellent action thriller "Rebel Ridge." Likewise, movies such as Kevin Hart's "Lift" enjoy baffling success on the streamer but so too do stellar sci-fi epics directed by Christopher Nolan, such as when "Interstellar" topped the Netflix charts to start 2025.
In all, then, Netflix is an infinitely fascinating yet confounding landscape -- one that's populated by the kind of streaming slop responsible for watering down the entire concept of moviemaking, yet also capable of exposing global audiences to Academy Award nominated films such as the Spanish drama "Society of the Snow." Brandon Sanderson's latest book in the Stormlight Archive series has prepared one of the main heroes for the next sequence. Not much is known about the contents of The Stormlight Archive sequence 2, aside from a few major facts. Like the first arc, sequence 2 will have five volumes, concluding events on Roshar in book 10. The next five books will pick up after a ten-year in-world time jump, meaning characters will be aged up when readers see them next, following the events of Wind and Truth's climactic ending.
According to Brandon Sanderson's annual State of Sanderson blog post, readers shouldn't expect the next Stormlight Archive book until late 2031, meaning quite a long wait for volume 6. That being said, there's plenty of time to speculate and discuss the possibilities going forward, especially given how The Stormlight Archive's character arcs so far have set up much of the foundation for the next five volumes.

In 2022, Nicolas Cage played Nicolas Cage in "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," a delightful comedy outing that saw the veteran star come across as what /Film's Jacob Hall described as "often nuanced, generally restrained, and painfully, awkwardly human." That's quite an accomplishment for Cage, who has been known for anything but his restraint in the last couple of decades. Even when he starred in the most terrifying horror movie of 2024, "Longlegs," he played the mysterious and creepy serial killer with an over-the-top relish. I went into that theater wondering if we'd see some kind of uncharacteristic restraint on Cage's behalf, but after he started scream-singing five minutes into the movie I thought, "Nope!" Not to say his performance was bad, but if you saw him in David Gordon Green's 2013 effort "Joe," you might too be hoping for more of the quietly brooding older Nic Cage and less of...

Netflix’s best movies in January 2025 mark the beginning of an exciting new year for the streaming service. As beloved of a figure as he is in Hollywood’s entertainment industry, Kevin Hart hardly has any feud with his fellow industry goers thanks to his amicable personality. Hollywood has seen plenty of relationships with big age gaps, but when it comes to older women dating younger men, people suddenly tend to have different and negative reactions. Every Baldur's Gate 3 class can be great when given the chance, and this is especially true of the least-played option. While options like the monk and ranger have been famously divisive, they aren't actually the ones at the very bottom of the popularity contest. Instead, the least love has been shown to clerics, typically thought of as the primary healers in Baldur's Gate 3 and its tabletop source, Dungeons & Dragons.
It's sad to see one of the classes with the most potential for combat and world immersion go so unloved. Though there is a cleric companion, the paladin, fighter, rogue, and barbarian were also popular choices despite there already being companions of those classes in the game. Ultimately, however, there's a great reason to play a cleric in Baldur's Gate 3.

The Force is strong with Simon Kinberg.
Lucasfilm has hired the prolific writer and producer to write and produce a new trilogy of “Star Wars” films. An early report insinuated are that this will actually be chapters 10 – 12 of the Skywalker Saga, continuing the path that most recently concluded with “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019. But there are others that insist this is a standalone series, something akin to the trilogies that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and, separately, Rian Johnson, were working on for the company. It is being referred to as a “new saga.”
Kinberg is no stranger to “Star Wars.” Following the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney, Kinberg was part of a small brain trust that was working on new projects for the studio. He consulted on J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and co-created the animated series “Star Wars: Rebels” with Dave Filoni.

NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock had a big July and a massive August thanks almost exclusively to the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. Netflix had an equally massive January-to-June, in part because of all NBCUniversal’s animated movies available on the streamer.
In case you’ve been living under a mountain of other Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, on Thursday, September 19, Netflix shared more than 16,000 lines of its viewership data from the first half of 2024. Netflix Dishes The Data
Being transparent: Long-serving Netflix execs love to ruminate on the era when the company was a DVD mailing service, but what felt pertinent this week was the streamer’s more recent transformation into an outfit that is very much at ease with transparency over viewing data. The murky days of walled gardens and numbers being kept hidden from even the most in-the-know producers appear behind us, and Ted Sarandos was in the English capital to beat this particular drum. In a fortuitous bit of timing that was probably more execution than luck, the CEO keynoted a Netflix-sponsored Rts London Convention event in the week that the streamer’s latest data dump revealed the Brits have this year, in common parlance,...

Are there millions of people hate-watching movies on Netflix?
Two of the streaming giant’s original films, sci-fi feature “Atlas,” starring Jennifer Lopez, and romantic comedy “Mother of the Bride,” starring Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove, garnered notably poor reviews and audience-rating scores. But both were among the most popular films on Netflix in the first half of 2024, according to the company’s latest massive data report: “Atlas” registered 77.1 million views worldwide and “Mother of the Bride” had 77.7 million.
Those metrics put both in the top 10 of Netflix’s most-watched movies for the first six months of the year — all the more remarkable because the report measured less than two months of viewing for those two titles: “Mother of the Bride” debuted May 9 and “Atlas” dropped on May 24.
“Atlas” has a meager 19% critics score (based on 110 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes, and “Mother of the Bride” is even lower at 13% (48 reviews...

Netflix unveiled the first big data dump of 2024 on Thursday, and the engagement report for everything watched in the first half of the year proved that subscribers really love three things: Millie Bobby Brown, sharks and animated movies.
Some of the data points were unsurprising – we knew Brown’s “Damsel” was a huge hit, and indeed it was the most-watched film for the first half of the year. But others were interesting, like just how heavily Netflix’s streaming partnership with Universal factors into what’s being watched and the relative success of Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” films.
Below, we thumb through the biggest winners on the film side of the data dump.
