Okay, so shoot me, but I liked it. It's clearly meant as non-pretentious fun, the setting is fairly original (an intelligent person who becomes part of a more trivial-minded group of friends), and in the end there are some nice morals to go, like doing away with prejudices about less smart people (see for instance how jock Grant in fact was a source of practical wisdom).
I agree with several reviewers that the laugh track is extremely annoying, if they would get rid of it, it would immediately lift the show to a better level. And the Jayden character is a bit too hysterically gay (being gay myself, I dare to say so). But it is a nice touch to make this little group so extremely diverse, yet so strongly connected. The writers created some clever cliff-hangers at the end of every episode, and although the quality of acting maybe didn't have the highest priority, I gradually developed a soft spot for the characters played by beautiful and sweet Olivia Macklin and stunningly built yet cute as a puppy Gregg Sulkin, in my opinion they did a great job.

What's with people nowadays?
This sitcom is not dumb. The characters are just a bit simple minded (except for the Pretty Smart one).
Finally we have a cute series that does not rely on swearing, gross-out or sexual jokes.
It's just sweet, and it has a big heart.
Even the wokeness is bearable in this one.
I binged it and was kind of sad that there are only 10 episodes yet.
If you want something light-hearted and cozy, this is for you.

Don't even waste your time. Stereotypical characters make it even worse. Horrible writing, and a tragic laugh-track thruout.

There aren't too many good netflix sitcoms so i wasn't expecting much. I'm a fan of emily osment, but she is the only reason I watch. Chelsea's sister is likeable but her friends are annoying and over the top, especially jayden. Right now its a good time pacfier but nothing special.

...like it's the 80's or 90's. It's dollar store version of the Big Bang, but in reverse, where Penny (Chelsea) is the "Smart" one. There ends the basis of this sitcom.

I binged not becauze of the story but hugely because of Gregg's abs and Emily's presence. The other characters are also such pleasant-looking people to look at. But the story and the jokes are NOWHERE. I'm not sure if it's the acting?? Or the script itself but yah. If it's going to get a second season - which i'm not sure.... - then it really needs to focus on the laughs.

This rubbish series is modeled after the old sitcoms from the 60s and 70s. The only difference is that the characters are diverse to include todays menu of diversity of ethnicity and sexual orientation. The acting is really bad, and the script must have been written by simpletons. Are streaming services so desperate for content that they would actually broadcast rubbish like this?
I wasn't really convinced on the first EP with all the characters being dumb and annoying but when the drama started I actually liked it?? Then the first EP made me laugh a few times then the next episodes made me laugh more. I like how they doesn't over use the laugh track and don't use it at all in serious moments. I know this show may not be for everyone but for me personally it's fun and good I had a great time.

The canned laughter is the worst thing about this show, the second is the script, then the acting, then the stereotypical characters bad acting.
Netflix have seriously hit rock bottom and it's time to cancel my subscription.

It was okay. When I saw the trailer it reminded me of Young & Hungry (a show I thought was great), not only because of Emily Osment but because of its style too. Unfortunately the show left me disappointed. I thought the actors did a great job, but a lot of the show just felt unrealistic, cheesy, and slightly dumb to me. Which sucks because I really like sitcom style shows (especially about people in their 20s because there aren't a lot of those out there), and like I said, I wanted to like this one but it just fell flat for me.

The acting is terrible. The jokes are not funny. Emily truly the only good actor on the show but even with her it's not a good show.
Oh my gosh the acting is terrible.

Pass this one up. It is stupid. The acting was just so so, the writing could have been so much better. You can't expect Emily Osment to carry this show. She deserves better than this. Pretty Smart was actually pretty dumb.

This show is so stupid, so unfunny , so dumb, so chick flick it's unbelievable. Plus they added the laughter track to inform us that their stupid characters are telling some joke.

I know not everyone is going to like this show...when I was watching the first episode I had decided not to continue but for some reason I did. It got better, the drama was fun and I really wanted to know how it was going to end. I wish the second season was out already.

What is this terrible acting, corny jokes, weird premise, etc? I hate when good shows with good actors get canceled and stuff like this pops up.
I know that this show is not for everyone but I enjoyed it. The first episode is cringy I'm the sister based on their reactions then when the drama started it got better and I actually liked the characters. I watched all 10 episodes and I need a second season. Its just my opinion I really liked it.

Something u can watch while grinding on your bike. I like friendship themed type of comedy. Finished at episode 10 & definitely wondering if there will be a season 2.
This has to be one of the worst so called 'comedies' Netflix has inflicted upon mankind. In fact I thought I was watching a satire at first, but nope it is meant to be a comedy. I dare anyone to watch the first episode without feeling the need to throw something at the TV.

This is not 'The office' or 'Modern Family'. My first statement is for those who are scoring this as 1-2 just because it is not the pinnacle of the TV. Everything does not need to be "The Best". Its a good show with likeable characters and a cute little premise.
Except Emily Osment, who cannot show any range of emotions, every actor and character have their own life's and are likeable. The laugh tracks could have been done away with though. The ending of season 1 was a neat hook, while generic, nicely used and as I said previously, it doesn't need to be world altering.
One more thing that I loved about this show is that it doesn't push any hidden agenda. If you want to start a decent light comedy show, this could be a good pick.

This show is so bad I made an imbd account just to rate it. It almost seems like a satire on popular sitcoms and boomer humor. Pretty good example for Netflix's current course.
Season 1: futile but it was funny, a very light show. Although it had very unrealistic characters, they worked well together. I hope it gets renewed because that cliffhanger let me very eager about what is to come.
