Season 1 of All the Queen’s Men premiered 2021. Season 2 premiered its first half on July 14, 2022, and its second half on January 12, 2023. Season 3 began its run on July 20, 2023 and wrapped up the second half of January 11, 2024. Therefore, it seems likely that Season 4 could come sometime this summer. With over a decade at one of the most successful independent studios under her belt, Michelle Sneed is striking out on her own.
The Tyler Perry Studios alum, who most recently served as president of the sprawling and prolific Atlanta operation since 2018, just launched a new studio. A Few Good Women Productions is targeting a first-of-its kind model, with an exclusively female leadership offering green lights and maintaining project autonomy through every phase — acquisition, development, financing, production, licensing and distribution.
“One thing that I’ve always said is, ‘Why do big studios get to have lot of fun?’ — and by ‘fun’ I mean majority ownership of these assets,” says Sneed, who wants to see that money trickle down not to just partners and creators but budgets. “I have dedicated my career mostly to Black and brown content. And I’d say that about 99 percent of the time it’s been on extremely small budgets.

Tyler Perry is heading to war — World War II, that is. The prolific writer-director has boarded his next feature film with “Six Triple Eight,” a new period drama coming to Netflix, it was announced Wednesday.
Based on an article written by journalist Kevin M. Hymel for WWII History Magazine, “Six Triple Eight” tells the story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-female battalion active during World War II. The group, which consisted of 855 women, was tasked with sorting through a three-year backlog of 17 million pieces of undelivered mail, reconnecting American soldiers with their loved ones at home, while struggling with discrimination and violence in war-torn Europe. The women of the Battalion received the Congressional Gold Medal this year after President Joe Biden signed the bill to honor them.
Perry will write and direct “Six Triple Eight” and produce along with Angi Bones and Tony Strickland for Tyler Perry Studios.
Based on an article written by journalist Kevin M. Hymel for WWII History Magazine, “Six Triple Eight” tells the story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-female battalion active during World War II. Exclusive: J. Marques Johnson will make his television debut in the second season of BET+’s Tyler Perry drama series, All the Queen’s Men.
The one-hour series created by Christian Keyes is based on his popular book, Ladies Night. The first season established Marilyn ‘Madam’ DeVille (Eva Marcille) as a fierce businesswoman ruling over her empire in the lucrative male exotic nightclub industry. Now, hell-bent on expanding her Queendom in Season 2, Madam will have to navigate this sexy yet dangerous world if she wants to stay alive and ahead of the game.
Johnson will play Rayshon, an amateur at Madam’s Club Eden, who isn’t cut out for the life of an exotic dancer, though that doesn’t keep him from trying. With VIP hazing going on inside of the club and private clients luring him into a dark underworld outside of the club, Rayshon often finds himself the victim.

The “Madea” movies have only intermittently done right by the character of Madea. Tyler Perry’s creation Mabel “Madea” Simmons is an outrageously anarchic agent of chaos that, until now, has never fit particularly comfortably in Perry’s didactic melodramas. (Imagine Bugs Bunny getting stuck in the world of “Davey & Goliath.”)
With “A Madea Homecoming,” Perry has — probably for the first time since “Madea’s Big Happy Family” — created a vehicle that lets Madea be Madea. No longer required by Perry the executive producer to tone down the material for a family-friendly PG-13 rating, Perry the writer-director-actor lets Madea be the blunt-talking, gun-toting, no-nonsense Thc enthusiast that the character was always meant to be.
Madea’s extended family — including Uncle Joe (also Perry), Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis Patton), Mr. Brown (David Mann), and Cora (Tamela Mann) — gathers at her house for the graduation of Tim, who’s the valedictorian at a never-named Hbcu.
