As of writing (August 8, 2023), it is unknown whether there will be an iteration of Janice Rand in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022). She did not appear during the first two seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022).

Those characters were not in The Cage (1966) (the pilot of Star Trek (1966)) and this series takes place between the pilot and the series.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) takes place after The Cage (1966). It takes place 5 years after The Cage (1966) to be exact, in 2259.

Such was the backlash from fans for (unnecessarily) changing the look of the Klingons for Star Trek: Discovery, that the producers opted to revert back to their more well known look for Strange New Worlds.
