Los Angeles, Aug 6: 'High School Musical' actor Corbin Bleu has been hit with a lawsuit after he reportedly failed to promote his movie 'Free Style'.

Bleu played the lead in the 2009 film, which raked in just 825,000 pounds worldwide despite its 6.25 million-pound budget.

Actor Corbin Bleu has been hit with a lawsuit after allegedly failing to fully promote his flop 2009 movie Free Style.

The High School Musical star played the lead in the coming-of-age film, which raked in just $1.3 million (£825,000) worldwide despite its $10 million (£6.25 million) budget.

Chiefs at two of the movie's financiers, Third Eye Capital and Strative Capital, have now filed suit against Bleu, as well as distributors Samuel Goldwyn Films, alleging the movie was not promoted as promised.

In the papers, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday and obtained by TMZ.com, they claim the 22 year old "refused and failed to perform those services".

The financiers reportedly put up more than $8.5 million (£5.3 million) for the film and are seeking $12 million (£7.5 million) in damages.

There are many films that all of us see throughout our lives, but only a few leave an imprint. “Free Style” leaves that imprint on me, but a bad one that could be used as an example of what not to do when making a movie. High School Musical hunk Corbin Bleu is set to thrill fans viewing new film Free Style this weekend (10-11Oct09) - by dropping in unannounced at U.S. theatres to promote the movie.

The teen idol plays an aspiring motocross star in Free Style, and he's so eager to please cinemagoers he is set to personally appear at showings of the film.

He writes on his Twitter.com page, "I will be making an appearance at some theaters where Free Style will be showing this weekend. I will keep you posted."...

He's grown up from High School Musical, and just as The Beautiful Life had his career steady, the show was canceled.  Fortunately for Corbin Bleu, there's another role he's fit for.  The 20-year-old actor will be portraying the lead role of Cale Bryant in the 2009 film Free Style, which doesn't refer to dancing at all.  It's actually a motocross movie.

On an interview with Teen Hollywood, Corbin Bleu discussed how his new film is going.  He also expressed how much he enjoyed filming and eventually obsessing over motorcycles since then.

A music video in support of Corbin Bleu's new single "Moment That Matter" has been premiered. It features him sitting behind piano desk somewhere in the desert, strumming some riffs, and stamping his foot while performing the song in high spirit.

"Moment That Matter" is one of the new materials in Corbin Bleu's newly-released sophomore studio effort "Speed of Light". Co-written by Corbin, Eric Hudson and Claude Kelly, the track is also featured in his new movie "Free Style".

"Anything I do, I always want a positive message, and obviously 'High School Musical' does tend to skew a little younger, but it's great for them," Corbin recently told MTV News about whom he's targeting on with his new album. "But it's more 20s, college years - sort of something in there for everybody."

"High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu managed to have some fun amidst his hectic touring schedules, taking a wild ride alongside his band and crew at a local carnival during one of his concert stops. Beside squeezing in lots of rides, the actor-singer also did the bungee rocket with one of his dancers, named Claude.

Corbin Bleu starred as Chad Danforth in "High School Musical" TV movies as well as in its big screen version, titled "High School Musical 3: Senior Year". His other acting credits include "Catch That Kid", "Jump In!" and the upcoming family-drama "Free Style".

Also having a singing career, Corbin released his debut album "Another Side" in 2007. He, in the meantime, is waiting for the release of his sophomore music effort, "Speed of Light", which is slated to hit the market on date 10 later this month.

While I'm sure no film could compete with the drama that would plague the Earth if Fox succeeds in delaying Watchmen, there are still a horde of serious, troubling, tear-wrenching, and romantic dramas coming our way in 2009. The ante was increased tenfold in 2008 with films like the gut-wrenching Dear Zachary, but what of our new year?

Corbin Bleu, the actor and singer who is best known for his role as Chad Danforth in "High School Musical 3: Senior Year", has been confirmed by his label to drop sophomore studio album next year. Titled "Speed of Light", the record is due to hit the U.S. market on March 10, 2009.

In anticipation for his upcoming effort, two new singles "Fear of Flying" and "Paralyzed" taken from the LP have arrived in full audio streams. Unfortunately, other than the album's release schedule and two revealed songs, no further details of the album have been shared to public.

Beside working on his own music, Corbin Bleu has also shot a big screen movie "Free Style". In the film, slated to hit the theaters across U.S. on February 1, 2009, he will be playing Cale Bryant, an 18-year-old young man who dreams to win the Motocross Amateur National Championships.

Mexico City -- Twentieth Century Fox International on Monday said it has acquired Latin American rights to William Dear's motocross racing drama "Free Style."

The film, which features "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu, bows in Mexico on Dec. 24 and is slated for a February release in other Latin American territories.

"We are pleased to release 'Free Style' in our region and are especially excited that it will make its world premiere here (in Mexico)," said Eduardo Echeverria, executive vp at Fox Latin America.

Samuel Goldwyn Films and Fox Home Entertainment have U.S. theatrical and home video rights, respectively. The picture will hit theaters stateside in February.

Penelope Ann Miller has joined High School Musical star Corbin Bleu in Rigel Entertainment's motocross action-drama movie Free Style.

Previously titled Metal Birding, the film, which began lensing in November in Vancouver, also has a new director in William Dear, who replaced Jeff Woolnough (Taken, Battlestar Galactica). No reason was cited by Rigel for the change.

Additionally, real-life motocross star Grant Langston and Sandra Echeverria have joined the cast, which includes Matt Bellefleur and Madison Pettis.

The coming-of-age story centers on a young motocross racer (Bleu) who aspires to win the Amateur National Championships while struggling to support his family.

Miller will play Jeannette, a single working mom to one of the teenage racers who strives to provide for her family while studying full-time to become a nurse.

Langston guest stars as the racing champion that Bleu's character and his rival (Bellefleur) looks up to. Echeverria will play Bleu's girlfriend.

Rigel is producing in association with Up North Entertainment. Executive producing is Rigel's John F.S. Laing and David Doerksen, Jim O'Grady of Waterfront Pictures and Michael Emanuel of Canal Street Films.
