T.K. TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek of the January 27 episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star (the penultimate of the series!) showing just that. The social worker turns the conversation to their jobs, noting, “You both work pretty long hours.” But T.K. assures her that they can get off whenever they might need to, and Carlos adds that his mother can be there anytime. 911: Lone Star just pulled off a surprise wedding that amazed viewers! How'd they do it?
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for 911: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 10
As 911: Lone Star moved into its final three episodes, we focused on the team, especially Judd, who was not doing well with his sobriety. He was losing faith with his wife Grace gone and close to hitting bottom but thankfully pulled out of it.
The other focus of the latest episode was Marjan (Natacha Karam) bringing her boyfriend Joe (played by Karam's real-life boyfriend John Clarence Stewart) to meet her parents. It was a tense meeting as they weren't happy about the idea of the pair living in a small apartment and Joe taking care of any kids with Marjan not quite having his back.

911: Lone Star returned from its midseason hiatus and got the ball rolling when it came to Judd’s sobriety arc. So far, he has not been doing as well as he appears, despite the front he puts up at work. However, his friend and Captain, Owen, made sure to keep an eye on him.
After a call involving a fire at a shooting range, Owen noticed Judd was putting himself in danger during the call. Seemingly, he didn’t seem to care at all. Plus, despite going to meetings, it’s clear Judd is still not doing well. Eventually, Owen learned that without Grace and their daughter Charlie, who is staying with her grandparents, Judd has once again fallen off the wagon.
In fact, Judd’s faith has also taken a nosedive. It got worse when he attempted to call Grace for help and he was unable to get through to talk to her.

9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 has had some of the best storylines of the show's five-year run, but there are still several characters who need to return to the 9-1-1 spinoff before the show officially ends. 9-1-1: Lone Star ended its midseason finale with a satisfying closure to Carlos' father's murder investigation, which had been consuming Carlos for the entirety of season 5. Owen also turned down his offer to become the Fire Chief of NYC after discovering his replacement, Judd, was not ready to take over. Meanwhile, Tommy started her cancer treatment after a devastating diagnosis.

9-1-1 hasn't had many crossovers in its eight seasons (with only one that mostly takes place in a 9-1-1: Lone Star episode) and that streak will likely continue despite a great opportunity to collaborate with another established ABC series. The TV show created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear revolves around first responders living in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, 9-1-1's location limited its chances of crossing over more times with its spinoff while they aired on the same channel. Now that 9-1-1 is on ABC and 9-1-1: Lone Star is ending after season 5, the time for crossovers is over.

For showrunners Hank Steinberg and Barbie Kligman, the prognosis is good. “Doc,” the Italian drama series that the pair have adapted for Fox and Sony Pictures Television, got off to a strong start this week.
The series, toplined by Molly Parker, blends medical procedural elements with a larger mystery around a hard-charging surgeon, Dr. Amy Larsen, who suffers from an eight-year gap in her memory after a traumatic brain injury. As she recovers, she gradually becomes aware of the massive life changes that were blocked by the memory loss, including the death of her son and the end of her marriage. The time frame of the storytelling shifts between 2016 to 2024 in ways that keeps viewers on their toes.

911: Lone Star's series finale is on the way now that it is January. While most shows are pausing production in the wake of the devastating Los Angeles fires, 911: Lone Star has already completed filming so the remaining episodes will run as scheduled for the remainder of its run. But just how long until we get to the finale?
It’s actually coming way sooner than we would like, especially since it means we are permanently saying goodbye to the crew from the 126 in Austin, Texas. Promos for the remaining episodes make it appear that the city will be threatened by what appears to be a meteor.
What to expect in the final episodes of 911: Lone Star
In addition to the final episodes of the season, we will also get answers about whether Carlos and Tk can adopt the latter’s little brother, Jonah, after Tk’s stepfather...

This week, actor Nathan Owens begins appearing on The Young and the Restless. His role is still a mystery, although fans have speculated that he is set to play Nate’s half-brother, Damian. This isn’t Owens’ first brush with daytime. From 2012 to 2013, he played Cameron Davis on Days of Our Lives. It’s twelve years later, and the Devious Maids alum recently reflected on the lessons he learned during his first daytime gig.
Played a Doctor on TV
Owens’ acting career was just beginning when he was cast on Days. Naturally, he didn’t know much about navigating the world of soaps. “I was so green,” he confessed to TV Insider. “I didn’t really know how to operate in that space and I kind of drowned a little bit because it was a bit difficult at that time.”
His Days character, Cameron Davis, was a doctor who needed to pay off a debt.

It’s rare that almost every single show makes it through to another season, especially when it comes to Fox. And yet, only one series was canceled in 2024.
Of course, it wasn’t all good news. Fox did end up announcing that another series would come to an end. Yet, the decision to only cancel one show was a surprise to many, as we got ready for some mass cancellations by the network.
The Fox show canceled in 2024
Fox decided to cancel HouseBroken after two seasons. This was somewhat of a surprise, as it’s rare now that the network will cancel its animated comedy. Animation Domination is a huge marketing part of Sunday nights on the network, continuing to hold steady in the ratings even when the football disrupts things.

Some of Netflix’s biggest and longest running shows are also coming to a close this year, including “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game” and “Big Mouth.”

A new report underlines the fact that Blue Bloods season 14 drew stronger ratings than the show that will replace it in the timeslot. After a run that lasted for well over a decade, with a total of 293 episodes, Blue Bloods season signed off in December. The police procedural's last run has proven to be a lightning rod, not for any particular storyline decision, but more so for the fact that CBS decided to end the popular drama despite its consistently strong performance with viewers.
TVLine looked at the top-rated shows on broadcast television midway through the 2024-2025 TV season. Blue Bloods season 14 came in sixth, emerging as broadcast's fourth most-watched drama. Including the Live+7 numbers, which account for ratings across seven days, season 14 drew an average of 7.9 million viewers. The final season drew 0.46 in the key 18-49 demographic. Overall, it ranks as sixth amongst all the shows (scripted and reality) aired by CBS.

9-1-1 is at an interesting point in its history. Fans were genuinely surprised to see the flagship show and its spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, land on different networks. Then, they were surprised to learn that Lone Star was getting the boot.
Despite being transferred to another network, the Texas-based spinoff has been canceled. Ryan Murphy, one of the franchise's creators, lamented the show's cancelation during a recent interview with Variety. He did, however, note that there are some exciting plans for the future.

While we’re more than ready to jump back into the regular TV schedule, that’s not happening just yet. There is still plenty to watch tonight, Monday, Dec. 30.
Sure, we’d love to tune in to another medical mystery with Dr. Wolf via Brilliant Minds. Maybe you’d love to tune into another case with the NCIS team. The bad news is the shows are currently off the air with new episodes, as the networks continue their winter break. In some good news, there are reruns, holiday specials, and some streaming shows getting linear outings to check out.

Mondays usually end with Brilliant Minds, but NBC is doing something a little different tonight. We’re getting an outing of Day of the Jackal. The Peacock series is currently available to binge, but NBC has decided to air the series premiere tonight.

A few months ahead of the 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 premiere, it was announced that Sierra McClain wouldn't be reprising her role as Grace Ryder in the show's final episodes. McClain had been a part of the 9-1-1: Lone Star cast since its first season. So, the news of her leaving the Fox procedural drama TV series was shocking, to say the least. McClain's character, Grace, also had many responsibilities and connections to other characters in 9-1-1: Lone Star, which made her exit difficult to navigate.

Full of snappy dialogue, stylish scenery, and captivating stories, "Suits" more than passes the bar when it comes to contemporary, mass appeal, prestige television. After enjoying an impressive but relatively muted nine-season run from 2011 to 2019, the USA series suddenly became one of the most popular TV shows in the 2020s thanks to a bump from Netflix. The renewed interest in it has apparently been so overwhelming that NBC ordered a spin-off from series creator Aaron Korsh.
Korsh's new series -- titled "Suits L.A." -- will feature a new law firm and a brand new cast of characters, led by "Arrow" star Stephen Amell. While fans of the mothership series may not be surprised by this choice, the absence of these beloved actors will surely be felt, especially since it's hard to find many of them in other shows, unless you know where to look.

The 9-1-1 franchise is expanding with the addition of another spinoff that will be set in a different city, but its location hasn't been confirmed, as of the writing of this article. As fans know, the original TV series, 9-1-1, takes place in Los Angeles, California. Meanwhile, the first spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, is set in Austin, Texas. It stands to reason that the events of the new 9-1-1 spinoff in development will transpire in a city that could bring something new to the franchise, meaning places in California and Texas are likely out of the question.

As the 2024–2025 TV season got to a start, Fox was proud of Rescue: Hi-Surf. It gave the top post-Super Bowl spot to the series, suggesting that it was going to be one to watch. Things have changed, but what does this mean for the future of the series?
When Fox released its January 2025 premiere dates, there was a notable change. Rescue: Hi-Surf would no longer get the post-Super Bowl timeslot.
This is a huge spot. It’s usually reserved for new shows, and we’ve seen some excellent results for a lot of big hitters. Just look at the success of the CBS shows The Equalizer and Tracker after their post-Super Bowl slots. Moving a show out of that timeslot doesn’t bode well for its future.
Will Rescue: Hi-Surf be canceled after one season?
The change does suggest that the future isn’t bright for this Hawaii-based rescue drama.

We’re now into the winter breaks for a lot of shows, and that means eyes are on return dates. Fox has its January and February schedules set, but there are some shows missing. When will we see the likes of The Cleaning Lady and Alert.
Yes, these two and Family Guy were noticeably missing from the list of January premieres. This has fans concerned, but don’t worry, Fox isn’t holding them for the next TV schedule. This isn’t a repeat of last year with 911: Lone Star and Accused.

There are still plans to bring The Cleaning Lady, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, and Family Guy back before May 2025. They are set for this TV cycle, but we’ll have to wait a little long. It looks like the shows are going to arrive in March.
This isn’t necessarily bad news.

There are sadly only three episodes left of 9-1-1: Lone Star, which returns on Monday, January 20, 2025 (the finale is set for February 3). And sure, there’s a massive emergency—an asteroid heading for Austin—but there’s also quite a bit left to wrap up about the characters as well. In addition to whether or not Owen (Rob Lowe) might take that job offer and what’s next for Judd (Jim Parrack) with his drinking, there’s the matter of T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) adopting T.K.’s half-brother Jonah as well as what’s ahead for the rest of the first responders. TV Insider turned to co-showrunner Rashad Raisani for the scoop. How much are we going to see T.K. and Carlos trying to balance being parents and balancing work? They have family, but at the same time, they are the primary caretakers now of this kid.

It looks like NCIS: Origins traded in its usual gunfire and life-or-death situations for a little emotional warfare instead. In all seriousness, this had to be the most emotionally charged episode of the season.
Truth be told, I wasn’t sure why the series needed to backtrack to how Gibbs ended up at the Nis. The story could have easily gone on without Gibbs’s little journey from Marine to Nis Agent. It seemed pretty cut and dry.
Thankfully, the NCIS: Origins writers never miss an opportunity to showcase how easily they can make audiences cry. Someone should see how Kleenex’s stock is doing.

While “Blue Bayou” didn’t deliver action or mind-blowing twists, it did offer the insight we’ve been craving for Gibbs and even Lala. That said, is anyone else annoyed by the bait-and-switch Christmas episode?

There’s good news if you’re anxious to see the actor back on your small screens because you won’t have to wait too long. You can see Owens on the top-rated CBS daytime drama starting January 8.
More: Could Damian destroy Nate and Audra?
Perhaps Owens will end up being Nate’s (Sean Dominic) half-brother. Recently, Nate helped Amy (Valarie Pettiford) track down Damian after she unexpectedly came to him for help. The doctor-turned-businessman managed to confirm that the previously unknown sibling was indeed his brother.
Of course, given...

Although the possibility of Eddie leaving 9-1-1 is heartbreaking, there is an upside to his exit as it opens the door for one last crossover with 9-1-1: Lone Star. The ABC (previously Fox) procedural drama show created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear revolves around a group of first responders, including firefighters, paramedics, police officers, etc., in Los Angeles. 9-1-1 was a success upon its premiere in 2018, which resulted in Fox promptly ordering a spinoff set in Austin, Texas — 9-1-1: Lone Star.
9-1-1 season 8 is set to return on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 8 pm Et on ABC, and the 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 midseason premiere drops on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 8 pm Et on Fox.
In the 9-1-1 season 8 fall finale, Buck caught Eddie searching for homes in El Paso, Texas, on the internet. As many will recall, Eddie's son, Christopher, moved to Texas to live...
