It was an eventful night for ratings Tuesday, when America’s Got Talent dominated with a 1.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 9.53 million viewers. The NBC competition series grew two tenths from last week and provided a strong lead-in for the network’s new comedy reality competition Bring the Funny, which also grew two tenths. NBC won the night easily in both metrics.
Meanwhile, a pair of series wrapped last night: the CW’s The 100 ended its sixth season on a steady note, matching last week, as did CBS’ Blood & Treasure with its Season 1 finale. The 100 has been renewed for a seventh and final season, while Blood & Treasure was also renewed.
Things have simmered down in The Bachelor-verse as CBS’ Bachelor in Paradise saw a three-tenths slip from its Monday night premiere. Meanwhile, Fox’s First Responders Live ticked up a tenth.

The CW said an emotional goodbye to Jennie Snyder Urman’s Jane the Virgin on Wednesday night, and the telenovela dramedy starring Gina Rodriguez wrapped it run with a steady-as-ever 0.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 660,000 viewers. Leading into the finale was a one-hour retrospective special, which actually eclipsed the series finale in viewers.
Still, the winner of Wednesday was again Big Brother, which topped primetime and matched last week’s numbers. The reality series, along with Love Island, helped CBS tie Fox for the night with a 0.7 rating overall.
Fox’s success came due to MasterChef, which ticked up after slipping last week. It was the same for First Responders Live, also up a tenth from last week.
ABC’s Wednesday’s game-show lineup gave the network the nightly win in total viewers, with Press Your Luck matching last week’s rating.

“First Responders Live” (fireman) carried Fox to a primetime win in the key adults 18-49 demo, though “MasterChef” again rated the better of the network’s two Wednesday programs.
The reason we’re hanging last night’s win on “First Responders” is because it grew in ratings week-to-week and it anchors Fox’s Wednesday primetime. The “MasterChef” demo rating also grew versus the prior week’s fast-national rating, though it was flat with the final Nielsen number, which had adjusted one-tenth of a ratings point later last Thursday.
Fox was first in ratings with a 0.7 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, but third in total viewers with an average of 2.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. “MasterChef” at 8 p.m. had a 0.8/4 and 3 million viewers. “First Responders Live” at 9 got a 0.6/3 and 2.3 million viewers.

NBC’s coverage of Night 1 of the 2020 presidential election’s first Democratic debate averaged 7.4 million total viewers and a 1.6 demo rating, dominating Wednesday in both measures.
Update: With viewership via MSNBC and Telemundo now folded in, the grand total is 15.3 million — just shy of the 2016 election’s first Democratic debate, which featured featuring Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee, and amassed 15.8 million. But you can add onto this year’s total more than 9 million viewers who live streamed the debate.
In a TVLine poll, Elizabeth Warren, Julian Castro and Cory Booker most impressed during the two-hour face-off.

Each weekday at 2 p.m., Dan Abrams talks to America for an hour about the law, politics and media. He’s been working steadily to expand the conversation.
Abrams hosts an afternoon show on satellite-broadcaster SiriusXM, where he holds forth on the Mueller Report and other topics that cross over from the legal world to the one we live in every day. He’s often spotted on “Good Morning America,” owing to a chief legal analyst role he has with ABC News. He’s making the literary rounds as well, with a book about a crucial law case involving Theodore Roosevelt. He continues to run his company, Abrams Media, which publishes the media-news web site Mediaite, and is leading a project that its namesake calls “the big enchilada”: Law & Crime, a live trial network that delivers courtroom cases of great interest via broadband and other venues and counts A&e as an investor.

Ahead of the August premiere of “BH90210,” Fox’s meta-revival of “Beverly Hills, 90210,” Tori Spelling says she “never” had a feud with co-star Shannen Doherty, despite the rumors surrounding the actresses following Doherty’s departure from the show after Season 4 in 1994.
“You know what, not for any reason,” Spelling said Monday on the “Daddy Issues” podcast, co-hosted by her husband Dean McDermott, when asked if she was still close with “Brenda” a.k.a. Doherty. “Like, it’s so funny, they used to… We were really close on the show. Like, she was one of my best friends. And then when she left the show, there were like all these, like, press things that came out, like, this rivalry, and it was never with us!”
“But, you know, the press makes what they want and you don’t want to say anything because you’re told, like, ‘Don’t say anything,...
