Three-time Academy Award nominee Russell Crowe is set to headline a new Cold War thriller. The movie is adapted from David E. Hoffman's bestseller, The Billion Dollar Spy: A True Story of Cold War Espionage and Betrayal, which tells a riveting story within the final years of the Cold War based on previously classified CIA documents and interviews. Crowe is best known for his performance as Maximus in Ridley Scott's 2000 Oscar-winner Gladiator.

Per Deadline's report, Billion Dollar Spyhas tapped Crowe and Industry's Harry Lawtey as the lead stars with a script by Ben August and revised by Oscar-winning writer Stephen Gaghan. Amma Asante will direct. In the movie, Crowe plays an ordinary man named Adolf Tolkachev, who is set on a highly dangerous mission to give top-secret Soviet intelligence to the United States. Lawtey will play a CIA agent named Tom Lenihan, who aids Crowe's character in challenging the Soviet government.

Following the Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey movies and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, ITN Studios and Premiere Entertainment have released the first full trailer for the next chapter in the Twisted Childhood Universe, or "Poohniverse," Bambi: The Reckoning.

As we're sure you've already surmised, the low-budget horror parody follows a now grown-up Bambi as he seeks revenge on the hunter who killed his mother... and anyone else he happens to cross hooves with.

Of course, Bambi is far from the same defenceless fawn he was in the animated Disney classic, as he has now mutated into a gigantic, bloodthirsty monster (for some reason).

The brief synopsis reads: "Xana (McKee) and her son Benji (Mulheron) find themselves in a car wreck and soon hunted down by the vicious killing machine, Bambi. Bambi will destroy anyone in its path."

Producers Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey are building a cinematic universe out of horror movies based on public domain family friendly stories – including Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, that film’s sequels, Pinocchio Unstrung, and Bambi: The Reckoning, which is inspired by Felix Salten’s 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods. Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is set to film his latest movie in Queensland, Australia, bringing a significant economic boost to the Gold Coast region. The action thriller “Bear Country” will begin production in February, transforming local landscapes into a stand-in for Los Angeles.

Crowe will play Manco Kapak, a club owner whose retirement plans are disrupted by a dramatic robbery. The film reunites him with director Derrick Borte, with whom he previously worked on the movie “Unhinged.”

The significant development is that both, like “Deadpool & Wolverine” (Disney), rent for 48 hours at $24.99, not the standard $19.99. That’s a 25 percent increase for PVOD, an increasingly essential source of studio revenue.

A few big hits have tested the $24.99 rental, including “Dune 2” and “Inside Out 2,” but “Robot” and “Alien” are successes of just over $100 million, not blockbusters.. Studios get 80 percent of the cost after a small carrier fee; the $5 increase represents about $4 more for each rental.

In Unhinged, road rage turns life-threatening when a man loses his temper behind the wheel and becomes fixated with teaching an impatient driver a lesson. From director Derrick Borte (The Joneses) and writer Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia), the psychological thriller stars Academy Award winner Russell Crowe, Caren Pistorius, and Gabriel Bateman.

“The film is, No. 1, entertainment. It’s an edge-of-your-seat ride for 90 minutes,” Borte told Entertainment Weekly upon the film’s 2020 release. “It just gets you to realize, wrong place, wrong time, honk your horn at the wrong person on the wrong day, and it can go horribly wrong … It’s a heck of a ride.”

The film, first released in theaters in 2020, is available to stream now.

After her time on Trump‘s reality TV show in 2004, she returned for two different installments of The Celebrity Apprentice. She later worked for Trump in the White House, but then came after the former President in her 2018 book Unhinged, and described him as a racist and cognitively impaired. The Trump presidential campaign alleged she had violated an NDA, but she won the arbitration in 2022.

“I was very reflective about that when I was writing Unhinged, about how Donald Trump squandered the greatest opportunity he had in his life to be a consequential leader, to shape the direction of our nation and bend it toward something positive.

The team behind the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey films expands their “Poohniverse” with upcoming films Pinocchio: Unstrung and Bambi: The Reckoning, and Jagged Edge Productions has shared the sales poster for their Bambi horror movie this afternoon.

The team tells us that Bambi: The Reckoning is being sold at the Toronto International Film Festival by ITN Films and Premiere Entertainment, with the film expected in early 2025.
