Have a Nice Time at the Zoo, Darling

Schoolgirl Ruth spots a man watching her at choir practice, then when she goes to the zoo, the man is there waiting for her, Ruth's friend initially thought he was a d.o.m, a dirty old man.

Images from this episode were chosen as the artwork for the dvd case, as well as the menus, it's not surprising, Bayldon was a well known and familiar face. It's also that chilling image of a man and a young girl, an image that many, like myself, would formulate an opinion of.

I was half expecting a story along the lines of The Flypaper (Tales of the unexpected,) but it doesn't quite play out like that. It's unlike every other episode from the series, it lacks the menace, the claustrophobia, but as a stand alone drama, it's really very, very good.

Gillian Bailey and Geoffrey Bayldon are both excellent here in their respective roles. Bayldon manages to put in an emotionally charged performance, Bailey is excellent as the sullen teenager.

Different, 8/10.
