This month, the Halloweenies continue their sprawling Universal Monsters coverage with 1941’s The Wolf Man. In anticipation, the gang finds themselves in a rather hairy situation as they howl at the moon and share their favorite werewolf movies. Like their list of favorite vamps ahead of their Dracula episode, this list is as definitive as their voice in the Horror industry.
So, not very.

When it comes to slasher films, the iconography of the killer is often more important than the story. As long as fans are being given the chance to watch Michael Myers show up in his white-painted Captain Kirk finest to slaughter anyone who gets in his way, no one cares about trying to make sense of the the nonsensical and convoluted timeline of the "Halloween" franchise. Even people who have never watched a horror movie in their life could probably identify Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" in his iconic hockey mask, or clock Leatherface from "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" even without his titular weapon. The look of a slasher villain should strike fear into the hearts of the audience ... but it should also be memorable enough to be marketable.
It's a delicate balance, and it's not the easiest thing in the world to pull off. The basic "sackhead...

“Heart Eyes,” in theaters this weekend, is a one-of-a-kind accomplishment.
It’s a slasher movie that is just as much a romantic comedy and vice versa. It’s not trying to be either of these things, it just is. Stars Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt have genuine chemistry, so when their meet-cute is interrupted by the Heart Eyes Killer, a serial murderer who has been stalking couples for years, you’re rooting for their continued survival, not the least of which because you want to see their relationship blossom. It’s odd to call a movie with this much arterial spray cute, but it really is cute.
And the movie feels like even more of an accomplishment because it maintains the quirks and charms of its director Josh Ruben, who is making his studio movie debut. Ruben is a veteran of CollegeHumor, the online comedy site, and his two features,...

The Valentine’s Day-set horror romantic comedy Heart Eyes, the latest film from Werewolves Within and Scare Me director Josh Ruben is now in theatres (you can read our 7/10 review Here and watch our interviews with cast members at This Link), and during an interview with our friends at Bloody Disgusting, Ruben revealed that he used writer/director Tom McLoughlin’s 1986 classic Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI as his guide when figuring out how to balance horror and comedy in his own slasher movie.
Heart Eyes has the following synopsis: When the Heart Eyes Killer strikes Seattle, a pair of co-workers pulling overtime on Valentine’s Day are mistaken for a couple by the elusive couple-hunting killer. Now they must spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives. Ruben previously provided the following statement: “My love of horror is rivaled only by my love of romantic comedies.

What do you get when you mix Nora Ephron with Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers? The combination might seem antithetical, but it works scarily well in director Josh Ruben‘s sweet, funny, terrifying rom-com/slasher movie mash-up, “Heart Eyes.”
Working from an inventive script by Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy, Ruben somehow deftly satisfies fans of both “Sleepless in Seattle” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” An iconic new horror villain is born in the form of the movie’s Heart Eyes Killer, a slasher who stalks young lovers each Valentine’s Day.
Ruben, as he explained to IndieWire, wanted the movie’s two sides to be equally strong so that the horror would deepen the romance made all the more terrifying because of our investment in the two young lovers (Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding) fleeing from the Heart Eyes Killer. He may be plotting another Alien film, but Fede Álvarez is hoping to make a classic slasher movie too. More on his comments below.
Director Fede Álvarez is currently doing the awards rounds in Hollywood with Alien: Romulus, the successful new entry into the decades old sci-fi horror franchise. Another instalment has already been confirmed and Álvarez has previously teased where it might go.
Talking to Collider at the Saturn Awards, Álvarez confessed there’s something else that is tickling his fancy when it comes to making more horror films.
“On the horror side I would love to do a good old slasher. I haven’t done that really. I mean I have possession movies with Evil Dead, sci-fi horror. A kind of classic slasher,” the director said.

Although the genre has been booming within the past decade, “elevated horror” has failed to craft any memorable slasher icons that could feasibly stand alongside Michael Myers of “Halloween,” Freddie Krueger of “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” or Leatherface of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” That’s not to say that there have not been successful horror franchises, as sagas like “Insidious” and “The Conjuring” have been successful in retaining their quality. It’s perhaps the drive for more seriously minded horror films in the vein of “Get Out” or “Hereditary” that has made the slasher subgenre feel less relevant; there’s only so much social satire that can be pulled off in a story about a masked serial killer mowing down innocent people.

There’s often a willingness to overcategorize middling slashers as horror comedies. However, balancing true horror with legitimate laughs is far more challenging. However, Heart Eyes pulls off the rare combo. Not only does it deliver legitimate laughs, easily showcasing itself as one of the funniest studio films in recent memory, but it’s got a mean streak few films possess. With plenty of gore and slasher frights, it’s an early standout for horror in 2025.

Post Malone, the Grammy-nominated singer, has teamed up with Vault Comics for an exciting new project—a horror graphic novel called ‘Big Rig,’ described as a thrilling mix of ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’ set in medieval Europe.
‘Big Rig’ is based on an idea by Post Malone himself, with the singer co-writing the story alongside Vault Comics’ editor-in-chief Adrian Wassel. Vault co-founder Nathan Gooden, known for his work on’ Barbaric,’ is illustrating the novel.
The story is set during the Dark Ages and follows an epic battle against demon hordes invading Europe. The story’s central characters are a secret sect of the Knights Templar called the Six Petals, who are struggling to defend against the demons.
In their desperate attempt to fight back, the Six Petals discover a strange, powerful weapon: a fully loaded tractor trailer, called ‘The Rig,’ which crashes to Earth. The twist? The...

In 2025, the Halloweenies are celebrating the storied legacy of the Universal Monsters. Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein, his Bride, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Invisible Man… all will be covered. In fact, each monster is getting their own month, giving the Halloweenies plenty of time to dig deep into their respective origins and chart their influence over the past century and some change.
This month sees the gang in Transylvania, where they’ve already shared their favorite vampire films, reviewed Robert Eggers‘ reimagining of Nosferatu, and talked all over Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino‘s From Dusk til Dawn. Today is the main event, though, as the Halloweenies offer their signature historical analysis to Tod Browning‘s 1931 Dracula.
Topics include: Browning’s strange and wonderful career, the U.S. in early 30’s (spoiler: not great!), vampire history and lore, early days of Universal and talkies, the 21-year-old nepo baby founder of the Universal Monsters,...

Listen, when you declare independence from another country in open rebellion, you tend to hold onto some lingering animosity toward that country even centuries later. It’s called epigenetics, probably — look it up. It doesn’t help when the country in question has a hilarious lexicon that makes even terrible things sound adorable. In England, a sex offender is simply a “sex pest,” an enraged person is “doing their nut” and a film too violent or graphically sexual to be distributed was a “video nasty.”
That’s not to say America hasn’t had its share of dumb moral panics. There was that whole Salem witch thing, which wasn’t cool. Sam Raimi hive, assemble! As you'll no doubt recall, last July we reported that the Evil Dead filmmaker had signed on to direct and produce Send Help, a buzzy new horror-thriller from 20th Century Studios. Fast forward to October, and word came through that Raimi's Doctor Strange star Rachel McAdams is set to co-lead the film, tantalisingly described as a two-hander. Now, per Deadline's latest update on the projectt, we know who the chiller's second hand will be: Lake Caddo and Teen Wolf star Dylan O'Brien.
Described as a survival horror thriller about two work colleagues who find themselves fighting for survival on a deserted island as the sole survivors of a plane crash, Send Help — previously pitched as "Misery meets Cast Away" — is setting itself up as a real battle of wits and wills. Perhaps the most intriguing thing about the movie so far however is that while...

We’re excited to announce today that Cineverse has saved director Macon Blair’s The Toxic Avenger remake and plans an unrated wide theatrical release later this year.
Bloody Disgusting’s parent company Cineverse acquired all U.S. and Canadian theatrical, home entertainment, and streaming rights through a deal with Legendary Entertainment.
The news was first reported by Variety this afternoon.
This fresh take on the beloved anti-hero known as “Toxie” was directed by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore) and stars Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”), Kevin Bacon, and Elijah Wood.
The Toxic Avenger is a daring and darkly comedic reimagining of the cult-classic franchise that first took the world by storm in the 1980s.

Jared Padalecki will trade his Stetson for a mask and scrubs as he reteams with Walker showrunner Anna Fricke for a new medical drama developing at CBS. The untitled one-hour series finds Padalecki playing a doctor treating patients using rural medicine. Rural, of course, refers to medical establishments outside of massive community hospitals. Rural medical facilities are typically in semi-remote areas, meaning treatment is out of the way.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Anna Fricke’s untitled Texas medical drama revolves around a headstrong, devoted country doctor (Padalecki) who practices his unique style of improvisational medicine alongside his new protégé, a young doctor running from her past. Together, they operate a mobile clinic and heal the bodies and souls of their underserved community in the medical desert of rural Texas.

One era of the Friday the 13th franchise officially came to an end on January 1st, when the servers for Friday the 13th: The Game – an awesome game that was hindered by the legal issues the franchise went through in recent years – were shut down at the request of the rights holders. Fans will no longer have the chance to play online multiplayer matches of that game with each other… but while the game now rests in peace, we still have the movies to watch over and over again. So let’s take a look at this Friday the 13th Movies Ranked list!
While this list is all in good fun, I have to admit that I found it to be surprisingly difficult to put together. That’s because the Friday the 13th franchise is my favorite of all franchises and I love every one of these films. Ranking them...

Although few theatrical franchises receive animated TV spinoffs like Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, and Ghostbusters did, this '80s trend predicted major change in 2020s Hollywood. While the blockbuster may have been born in the ‘70s with hits like Jaws, Star Wars, and Alien, the ‘80s was where the movie franchise truly flourished. The aforementioned hits all received sequels that expanded their fictional worlds and earned staggering sums at the box office, but the decade was also home to a slew of huge franchises that continue to this day. These include the Ghostbusters movies, the Gremlins series, and the Back to the Future franchise.

Today’s unfortunately the day to say goodbye for fans of Gun Interactive’s Friday The 13th: The Game. As we learned last year, Gun Interactive’s license for the asymmetrical multiplayer game expired last year, and tonight, the Friday The 13th: The Game‘s servers are being sunset. Meaning, today’s your final chance to play the game online.
There’s still no word on if players will be able to play the game’s multiplayer mode offline.
This obviously adds salt to the wound for fans, as the years-long dispute between director Sean Cunningham and Friday the 13th (1980) writer Victor Miller prevented Gun Interactive from adding any more content to Friday The 13th: The Game, most notably Uber Jason from Jason X. Fans had tried the do-it-yourself approach with a fan mod, but that was hit with a cease and desist from Horror Inc. not long after it was revealed.

The ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise is a popular series of horror films that started in 1980. It focuses on the character Jason Voorhees, a killer who wears a hockey mask and terrorizes anyone who comes to his camp, Crystal Lake.
The series has spawned multiple movies, TV shows, and even video games, becoming a major part of horror culture. This is why it also spawned a lot of merchandise, and a new batch dropped recently, just in time for Friday the 13th.
Ten companies and artists have released new Friday the 13th-themed clothing, prints, and collectibles to celebrate Jason’s special day. So let’s check them out.

Director/producer Sean S. Cunningham has admitted that his 1980 slasher film "Friday the 13th" was a deliberate effort to imitate the style and success of John Carpenter's "Halloween," which had come out only two years prior. Cunningham tried to copt Carpenter's "killer's eye perspective" camera angles, and it's no coincidence that both films take place on dates famous for horror, bad luck, and death. Cunningham's gambit was successful, though, and his $550,000 movie ended up making nearly $60 million at the box office. It also spawned 11 sequels, many of which came to define the horror trends of the '80s. Although none of the "Friday the 13th" movies are particularly beloved by critics, they are a gestalt-defining phenomenon.
Holiday-themed horror films began popping up regularly in theaters. The years after "Friday the 13th" saw the release of "April Fool's Day," "New Year's Evil," "Prom Night," and "Silent Night, Deadly Night."

Jason Goes To Hell was my entryway into the Friday the 13th franchise. A junior in high school, I’d recently fallen in love with Scream and overcome my childhood fear of slasher killers. My boyfriend suggested we watch one of his favorites: the 9th and purportedly “final” installment in the storied franchise. At the time I was in full agreement with Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and had no interest in a formulaic film. “What’s the point,” I quoted, “they’re all the same.” But he assured me this one was special.
I begrudgingly pushed play and was hooked from the opening scene. While opinions vary wildly about Jason Goes to Hell, there’s no doubt director Adam Marcus is swinging for the fences. The plot is joyfully bananas and ends in a smorgasbord of murderous possession, decaying bodies, magic books, and minions from hell. But amidst the B-movie lunacy,...

In the realm of legendary slasher franchises, there are few that can challenge "Friday the 13th" for the crown. Not only did Paramount Pictures make these murder-fests an annual tradition for most of the '80s because they were so damn successful, but the franchise has evolved a great deal relative to its somewhat humble beginnings. While the series is deeply associated with the machete-wielding Jason Voorhees these days, let's not forget he wasn't even the killer in the 1980 original. That honor goes to Betsy Palmer's Pamela Voorhees, who was killing in her son's name.
It's a unique beast amongst long-running horror franchises. It's also been quite a while since Jason graced the silver screen. 2009's "Friday the 13th" remake was a big hit, but it was also the last movie in the series — for now, anyway. Much of...

Stir of Echoes was an integral part of my childhood. My family owned a copy of the film on VHS and it aired frequently on cable television. It was a movie that I watched more times than I can count and never grew bored or tired of it. To this day, when I think of Kevin Bacon, Stir of Echoes is the first film that comes to mind and it’s the one that I most closely associate with him. I hadn’t seen the movie since I was a teenager and I was curious to see how it held up in present day. I’m happy to say, that even twenty-five years later, the movie is endlessly compelling, thrilling and entertaining.
Stir of Echoes plot
Following a spur-of-the-moment hypnoses session at a drunken party with friends, Tom Witzky (Kevin Bacon) begins to experience visions and events that he can’t explain.

In the early-to-mid eighties, Jason Voorhees dominated the horror box office. The masked slasher went from jump scare at the end of a movie to a pop culture icon in impressive fashion; enraging conservative parents while delighting teenagers who loved seeing him stalk and kill other teenagers on the big screen. Of the first four films, three of them made over $30 million at the U.S. box office, an impressive feat for the time. However, starting around 1985, with the much-criticized Friday the 13th: A New Beginning the series’ grosses started dwindling. Yes, they were still making money for studio Paramount thanks to their low budgets, but the air was seemingly coming out of the franchise the longer it went along. The low point, in several ways, was the release of Jason Takes Manhattan, a movie where the fans finally had to admit Jason’s machete blade had become quite dull.

Contrary to what many people assume, most forms of film criticism are indifferent to whether or not the ideas present within a movie were placed there intentionally. The only “rule” is that the critic should be able to justify their personal interpretation with examples taken from whatever is being examined. After all, art discourse usually says more about the people discussing the work than the artist themself, and that’s why I don’t mind it if you read this article and end up thinking that I’m reading too much into a silly slasher flick.
Naturally, the slasher in question is Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. And with the film celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, this seems like the perfect opportunity to discuss why I believe this over-hated sequel deserves to be re-evaluated as an oddly fascinating (and likely accidental) homage to Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Christmas is supposed to be about joy, so it’s surprising that there are so many Christmas horror movies. Perhaps we need some darker movies to capture the downsides of the holidays. Furthermore, who would have guessed there are two good movies about killers dressed up as Santa Claus?
5. ‘Christmas Evil’
Harry is a down-on-his-luck toy factory worker. His childhood trauma has left him with an unnervingly intense obsession with Old Saint Nick. As his life gets worse, he starts to believe he’s Santa Claus himself. That doesn’t stop him from getting violent.
This little-seen gem was released at the height of the slasher film boom in 1980. While a movie like Friday the 13th goes for the jugular, Christmas Evil is a slow burn. It’s more about character and atmosphere than bloody violence. Stuff it in your stocking — if you dare!
4. ‘Gremlins’
Gremlins starts as a cute family film a la E.

Once upon a time, the most popular monsters of filmdom were linked to certain actors. Though other individuals would play these roles over time, ask any movie buff to name the performers best known for portraying Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy and the Wolf Man, and they'll fire back with, respectively, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Karloff again, and Lon Chaney Jr. But while these roles were spoken for in the public's consciousness, one of these actors was famous, at least among seriously committed horror fans, for having played all four of Universal's marquee monsters -- and that actor was Chaney Jr.

Star Wars movies have frequently been major box office successes, with a few exceptions, but shockingly, Star Wars’ best movie didn’t hit number one at the box office for an entire month after it was released. Star Wars movies and TV shows haven’t always been well-received. Shows like The Acolyte have proven to be extremely controversial and have been subject to significant backlash, and The Acolyte’s cancelation made it clear that this has a tangible effect on the franchise.
Even so, Star Wars movies tend to draw viewers to the theater, and box office numbers don’t always directly translate to how popular the movie ended up being over time. The Star Wars movie box office rankings reveal that Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a now highly criticized Star Wars movie, was the second highest grossing in the entire franchise. Terrifier 3 being one of the biggest hits of 2024 may come as a surprise to some as it is not a long-established franchise or a movie with a budget in the hundreds of millions. Instead, it is a smaller budget production that is part of a franchise that had a rocky start. Terrifier 3 was a massive success at the box office, and its critical reception was also positive with a 77% critic score and 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Terrifier started as a small-budget movie that was known more for its deaths and iconic killer, Art the Clown than it is for its plot. Over the years, the franchise has grown and garnered a dedicated fan base and put other franchises to shame with the amount of money it earned compared to its more than reasonable budget. Terrifier 3's cliffhanger ending teases a fourth film, which initially seems like it will be the last.

Over the past decade or so, the gaming industry has settled on a (quite inflexible) formula for any titles that are based on celebrated horror flicks. No matter the licence in question — be it a feted great like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a cult B-movie on the level of Killer Klowns From Outer Space, or even the straight-to-video Puppet Master series— it seems that the default model for these adaptations nowadays always has to be asymmetrical multiplayer.
In a best-case scenario (ala Friday the 13th), this approach can work wonders and feels like the most appropriate way of bringing the given source material to life. Other times, however, it can be oddly restrictive, and you end up with very singular IPs being contorted out of shape and robbed of their idiosyncrasies. All in service of a trend that’s at ever-increasing risk of getting stale.

The Halloweenies celebrate the 45th anniversary of an all-timer: Don Coscarelli‘s Phantasm.
Join co-hosts Michael Roffman, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, and special guest Adam Carston of Windy City Ballyhoo/Make My Day: A Clint Eastwood Podcast as they revisit the 1979 DIY masterpiece. Together, they dig deep into its roots, try to make sense of the plot, marvel at the music, and chart how Coscarelli’s first two films — 1976’s Jim the World’s Greatest and Kenny & Co. — feel like precursors, making all three a perfect aesthetic trilogy of the ’70s. If there's one thing a slasher movie franchise needs, it's an instantly recognizable slasher. "Halloween" has Michael Myers, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" has Freddy Krueger (inseparable from actor Robert Englund), "Friday the 13th" has Jason Voorhees, and "Scream" has Ghostface. Unlike the other slashers, though, Ghostface is a mantle, not a single person.
The original "Scream" was a murder mystery, with Ghostface unmasked and killed at the film's end. Each sequel has continued the trend: a new person slips on the ghoulish white mask, full body black cloak, and starts stabbing people in Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) orbit. While each Ghostface killer has naturally been played by a different actor, the disguised voice is the same in every movie, provided by voice actor Roger L. Jackson. Get a look at the voice behind the mask courtesy of this video from Jamie Kennedy (who played Randy Meeks in "Scream").

Horror movies such as Halloween are known for their theme songs. Some movies took things a step further by giving us awesome original songs. Here’s a look at the best of them — some we remember and some we sadly don’t.
5. ‘Tubular Bells’ from ‘The Exorcist’
According to Collider, “Tubular Bells” by Mike Oldfield wasn’t written for The Exorcist. Regardless, we wouldn’t be discussing this track if it didn’t appear in William Friedkin’s horror blockbuster. The song starts out a tad tense, like it’s the theme song for a legal show, before getting more and more ominous and working in scare chords. The tune wasn’t written for a scary movie but it was meant for that context.
Later horror themes, such as those for Halloween and Suspiria, took their cues from “Tubular Bells.” Oldfield went on to have a pop career — he even...

If you’re looking for someone to curate programming at your horror streaming service, hire the guy with the trio of “Halloween 3: Season of the Witch” (1982) masks tatted on his forearm. Sam Zimmerman was built — or at least inked — for the Shudder job.
This is Zimmerman’s time of year — and it’s extra special in 2024. September and December both have Friday the 13th dates, perfect bookends for Shudder’s supersized Season of Screams. During the same window, Zimmerman is moving his young family onto what he described as the Halloween block in his new (and quaint) town. Quite the Halloween for this guy, both professionally and personally.
With all due respect to AMC+, Shudder is the standout AMC Networks streaming service (of the many we don’t feel like counting right now), and the Season of Screams will pack the app with film releases, series, specials, and live watch parties.

It’s officially spooky season, and if you’re looking to watch something a little scarier than love in the afternoon, check out these horror movies and TV shows starring some familiar faces from daytime.
From Drama To Horror
While many soap stars tend to stick to dramas or Hallmark Channel romcoms – find out what soap stars will be on Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas this year – some have branched out to an unexpected genre: horror. If you want to add some familiar faces to a spooky movie night this Halloween, add these to your list of must-watches.
General Hospital
Idle Hands, starring Kelly Monaco
This 1999 horror film stars Devon Sawa and Jessica Alba and follows a teenaged boy who’s hand becomes possessed and goes on a murderous rampage. It certainly didn’t win any Oscars, but it does feature a young Kelly Monaco as one of the victims.

Mentions of sexual abuse, physical abuse, torture, and murder.
The franchise of A Nightmare On Elm Street hasnt been active since 2010, but Robert Englund has the best idea to bring Freddy Krueger back and its not a legacy sequel. Wes Craven left an unforgettable and highly influential mark on the horror genre, mostly with his slasher movies, such as A Nightmare On Elm Street. In 1984, Craven introduced the world to Freddy Krueger (Englund), an undead, severely burned child killer with a bladed glove who has a very unique, terrifying, and specific modus operandi.
What Krueger does is haunt his victims in their dreams, where they are most vulnerable, and if he kills them there, they die in real life too. A Nightmare On Elm Street sees Krueger targeting Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) and her friends, as they are the children of the people who burned him alive, and he really wants revenge.

Jason Voorhees is the iconic hockey mask-wearing antagonist of the Friday The 13th franchise, though there are many times his headwear has been removed to show the gruesome face beneath. When anyone thinks of Jason Voorhees, the image of the iconic hockey mask instantly comes to mind. However, for the fans, the face behind the mask is always a highlight. Usually saved until the climactic final act, Jason's face is revealed, and over the course of eleven movies, each unmasked Jason is unique.
When Jason Voorhees was first scene in the final moments of 1980's Friday The 13th, he emerged from Camp Crystal Lake to drag final girl, Alice, dopwn into the depths. While this was only a dream, and the creature that grabbed her had no mask, Alice correctly predicted that Jason was still alive. Sure enough, he returned this time as the main antagonist in 1981's Friday The 13th Part 2,...

How much do you really need to know about a slasher series before jumping in? After all, in the typical "Friday the 13th" or 'Halloween" sequel, it's pretty easy to get acclimated. The killer is back, there are a whole new bunch of potential victims, yadda yadda yadda. That may be true of many horror franchises, especially the longer they get, but it is definitely not true of the relatively short-running "Terrifier" franchise.
There aren't just two movies to recap, but two movies with radically different plot dynamics, two short films, and an anthology feature that incorporates the shorts while adding new material. As the story progresses, murderous mime Art the Clown goes from lowly henchman to full-on antichrist status, and can it possibly be true that he'll face off against the real Santa Claus next time around?
Strap yourself in for a look back at the movie series...

Chris Nash’s acclaimed In A Violent Nature is out now on Altitude.film and other digital platforms and coming to DVD & Blu-ray from 30 September, so to celebrate we are giving away Blu-Ray copies to 2 lucky winners!
In A Violent Nature, the ground-breaking and gruesome debut feature from writer and director Chris Nash (ABCs Of Death 2) introduced the masked and murderous Johnny, who’ll stop at nothing to retrieve a precious locket, to terrified UK audiences during its theatrical release in July.
With In A Violent Nature Nash has fashioned something truly extraordinary – a film that manages to be brilliantly original while at the same time paying homage to ‘80s horror classics like the Friday the 13th series and Evil Dead, as a group of young campers are mercilessly stalked in the woods. Told from the point of view of the killer, it features some astoundingly orchestrated and intensely gory kills...

Jason Voorhees has become synonymous with his iconic hockey mask, which has kept the "Friday the 13th" franchise in the public consciousness despite Jason having not appeared in an official, franchise capacity since the 2009 remake. It's the result of some legal issues between the franchise and the character's creators, but that dang hockey mask has guaranteed that just like the slasher villain who wears it, Jason Voorhees will never die. Hardcore horror fans know that the hockey mask didn't show up until "Friday the 13th Part III," but even more interesting is how Jason has been presented behind the mask or in a few instances, without it completely.
Jason Voorhees has been through it over the years. He's drowned (more than once), been struck in the head with an axe, impaled through the skull with his own machete, hacked to bits, chained to the bottom of a lake, taken a boat propeller to the throat,...
