(at around 1h 35 mins) When the armed police arrive in the church at the end of the film a police officer raises a hand gun and fires it, only one shot is heard but then another officer lowers a rifle which is smoking as if it had been fired.
Before Jennings' decapitation, the hammer falls off the roof and hits the rusty sign. The hammer is seen falling before the sign detaches, but it is not seen falling to the ground, and is nowhere to be seen after Jennings is dead.
(at around 18 mins) The first shot of the nanny on the roof shows her feet projecting slightly over the ledge. In a subsequent rear shot of her, her feet are clearly well back safely from the front of the ledge. This is understandable since the actual actress was doing the scene on the actual roof.
(at around 19 mins) When Ambassador Thorn arrives at the Embassy after the nanny suicide, one of the reporters is played by Harvey Stephens, the original Damien from 1976. When Thorn is heading towards the door he is followed by Harvey Stephens at his right side. In the following shot, when we see them walking towards the camera, Stephens has moved to the left side of the Ambassador.
(at around 9 mins) When Katherine brings Damien to visit Robert at work (near the beginning of the movie), Damien is clearly seen being carried in her arms. However, when Robert finally meets with Katherine to inform her of his promotion, Damien is no where in sight.
(at around 18 mins) When the nanny jumps off the balcony at Damien's birthday party, the distance to the ground and the rope are way too long - her head would rip off.
(at around 41 mins) When Robert goes to the opera to see Richard Strauss's "Salome," the final bars of the opera's music are heard, and the next scene is Robert in the lobby, about to be approached by Father Brennan. Soon after, the house lights began flashing to indicate that intermission is over. "Salome" is a one act opera, no intermission is given.
(at around 1h 17 mins) The skeleton of the baby in the grave appears to have a fully formed skull. If the child died as a baby or even a year later, the sutures would not have closed up yet, leaving the skull basically in pieces.
(at around 1h 26 mins) When Thorn and the photographer arrive in Megiddo they're stopped at an Israeli check point, but the Israeli army doesn't use the German style helmets used by the US Army and other armies.
(at around 11 mins) The tramp knocks the choc away from the fuel truck. The cigarette is dropped after this event, and is far uphill from the fuel spill, and could not have ignited the fuel as shown.
(at around 5 mins) At the beginning of the film when Robert Thorne is being driven through Rome, the date is June 6th and the time is specified as being sometime after 6.00AM (the time the babies are born, which he misses). The sun rises in Rome at 5.30am at that time of year, which would mean it would be light outside, but Robert is being driven in the dark. The original 1976 film made exactly the same mistake.
(at around 17 mins) At Damien's birthday party, which takes place in June, the dog's breath is visible even though it is summer. The original 1976 film made exactly the same mistake.
(at around 12 mins) When the limousine is collided by the gasoline truck, the impact of the explosion would have caused damage to the car. The car is in perfect condition throughout the entire explosion - it even keeps its sheen.
(at around 1h 3 mins) When Jennings shows Thorn the clipping from the Rome newspaper announcing the birth of Thorn's son, it is obvious that the prop "newspaper" has only been printed on one side of the page.
(at around 48 mins) During Father Brennan's flight to the church, lightning strikes near him two times; once it strikes the fence just after he scales it and the second time it strikes and severs the lightning rod, impaling him. At neither time is the lightning strike accompanied by the sound of thunder; a lightning strike so close to the priest would be accompanied with almost simultaneous thunder.
The opening shot of the telescope shows several white lamps around the eyepiece end of the telescope. This is exactly what you do not want when making visual observations at night.
When Mrs. Thorn falls from the balcony, she lands on her back, but she breaks her collar bone, which is in the front of the body.
The newspaper has a front page photo of Father Brennan impaled by the metal spike outside the church. No newspaper, certainly in the UK, would show such a gruesome photo.
In the final car chase scene, the engine of the Lexus that Robert is driving sounds more like a single seater sports car than a family saloon.
(at around 1h 35 mins) At the end of the film when Robert is driving to the church, both Robert and the Police are driving on the right-hand side of the road rather than the left as would be proper in the UK.
(at around 1h 35 mins) During the final chase when Thorn is taking Damien to a church with British police officers in pursuit, Czech script ('Prague 2 Municipal District') is clearly visible on the shop fronts.
(at around 19 mins) The view along the front of the American Embassy shows the London Eye and Big Ben in the distance. Neither of these landmarks are actually visible from this location.
(at around 1h 26 mins) Thorn and Jennings are seen going through military road blocks on the way to the narrow streets of Megiddo. But Megiddo is a green Kibutz located well within Israel.
(at around 1h 35 mins) In the final car chase there are tram lines visible, yet there are no tramlines in central London.
Boom mics visible during the Thorns' discussion in Robert's office, in Father Brennan's home when Thorn and Jennings are investigating, and when Thorn and Jennings are speaking to Bugenhagen.
(at around 1h 25 mins) The name Megiddo is not derived from the word Armageddon, but rather the other way around. Armageddon is Latin distortion of "Har Megiddo", or "Mount Megiddo" in Hebrew.
(at around 33 mins) On the wall in Damiens' room is a child's drawing of the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María, on the sails of each the red cross pattée, a form of the 'crux immissa quadrata.' It is highly unlikely that the child would not have recognized or sensed the religious import of these crosses given his reaction to the icons at the church. He would have rejected having any interest in duplicating them.
(at around 1h 25 mins) The town of Megiddo that father Spiletto tells Robert about is not "just south of Jerusalem" but actually much to the north. It is located between Haifa and Hadera.
(at around 58 mins) The photographer shows Thorn a number of printed images. These are all badly focused, poorly exposed or otherwise not the work of a professional or even good amateur.
(at around 58 mins) When the photographer shows Ambassador Thorn the newspaper account of the priest's death, the headline has a grammatical error. It reads: "Freak accident during yesterdays unseasonal storm". "Yesterdays" should be "yesterday's".
