Rilo Kiley are reuniting for Just Like Heaven 2025, as leaked by a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, Los Angeles.

Like many other announcements, the lineup reveal for the nostalgia festival was put on hold due to the LA wildfires, but it appears there was some miscommunication and the billboard still went up. Besides Rilo Kiley, Vampire Weekend, Empire of the Sun, Bloc Party, and the recently reunited TV on the Radio are also set to top the bill.

Back in 2021, singer Jenny Lewis and lead guitarist Blake Sennett reunited for Linda Perry’s Rock-n-Relief livestream benefit. At the time, they hadn’t played together since Sennett joined Lewis onstage at Coachella 2015.

Rilo Kiley’s most recent project, their compilation LP RKives, was released in 2013. One year later, Lewis confirmed their breakup in an interview with the National Post.

Coheed and Cambria’s Claudio Sanchez has surprise released a new covers album featuring renditions of songs by Taylor Swift and The Smiths.

Six of the eight songs were previously released as part of the “Claudio Covers” YouTube series — also the title of the new album, which is technically being released under the Coheed and Cambria name. My Bloody Valentine will return to the stage in November 2025 for their first concert in seven years.

The shoegaze legends announced a concert at Dublin’s 3Arena on November 22nd, 2025. It marks their first confirmed live performance since playing Desert Daze in 2018, and their first time headlining a show in Ireland since 1992.

Tickets for the show in Dublin go on sale Friday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. GMT. Fans can sign up for the band’s newsletter to access a special pre-sale set for November 26th.

Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez has shared a cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” as part of his monthly YouTube “Claudio Covers” series.

With the recent release of The Cure’s highly anticipated comeback album, Songs of a Lost World, the Coheed frontman celebrated the occasion by covering one of the band’s classic songs.

As Claudio tells it, he was actually introduced to the track via the brilliant cover version by Dinosaur Jr.

“This song was introduced to me by some friends as a cover done by Dinosaur Jr,” Sanchez said (via the YouTube description). “They were skaters, so the reference to ‘tricks’ at the top of the song conjured up ideas of a smitten lover’s curiosity for executing kick-flips and rail slides.”

He continued, “At the time, I didn’t know much of The Cure’s discography outside of ‘Boy’s Don’t Cry,...

The Cure celebrated their new album, Songs of a Lost World, with a marathon three-hour record release show at London’s Troxy that was also streamed live online and is available to replay in full below.

The evening began with a full performance of Songs of a Lost World, the band’s newly released first album in 16 years. From there, Robert Smith and co. played a set of classic hits and fan favorites, including tracks like “Plainsong,” “Pictures of You,” Lovesong,” “Fascination Street,” “Just Like Heaven,” and “Disintegration.”

The Cure then treated fans to a surprise five-song mini set of songs from their 1980 sophomore album, Seventeen Seconds, in celebration of its 45th anniversary, before closing the night with an encore that included “Lullaby,” “Friday I’m in Love,” and “Boys Don’t Cry.” All told, The Cure played a total of 31 songs over the course of the three-hour set.

Grant and Constance Bennett star in 1937s Topper as the ghostly Kerby couple who spend their afterlife trying to cheer up their strung-up boss Cosmo Topper. The films quick dialogue and sharp jokes are signature aspects of the screwball genre, and Just Like Heaven employs these techniques with a modern twist. In a recent interview with High Snobiety, the actor said a studio rep made it clear that they didn’t particularly want him in the Paramount Pictures film.

“I’ll never forget when they were negotiating my deal [for Zodiac], the studio negotiator literally said to my manager, ‘Look, we don’t give a shit about Mark Ruffalo, we don’t even want Mark Ruffalo in this movie, so you’re going to take what we’re offering you or forget it,'” Ruffalo recalled.

In Zodiac, directed by David Fincher, two reporters, Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr., become obsessed with tracking down the Zodiac Killer, an unidentified murderer who went on a killing spree in San Francisco in the 1970s. Ruffalo portrayed Detective David Toschi in the movie.

In a perfect coalescence of late-’80s indie rock delight, Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine joined Dinosaur Jr. onstage in London Tuesday night (November 14th) to perform a rendition of The Cure‘s “Just Like Heaven.”

Mbv and Dino Jr. toured together back in the day, and it looks like they still regularly keep in touch. The latter band brought Shields onstage at a Dinosaur 30th anniversary show in New York in 2015; Shields stopped by Dinosaur Jr.’s Camp Fuzz rock camp in 2019; and J Mascis appeared in a promo clip for Shields’ new Fender pedal last September. And although Dinosaur Jr. have a studio version of their “Just Like Heaven” cover, our records indicate this is the first time Shields has performed it with them live. As you might expect, it was very loud and kicked ass.

New to the streamer in September are “Annabelle” (2014), “Annabelle: Creation” (2017) and “Annabelle Comes Home” (2019), as well as “The Curse of La Llorona” (2019) — all spin-offs from “The Conjuring” universe.

Other horror entries include “It” (2017), “It: Chapter Two” (2019), eight “Friday the 13th” films (from the 1980 cult classic to 1989’s “Jason Takes Manhattan”) and six “Children of the Corn” sequels.

As previously reported, over 200 episodes of AMC Networks’ television series are coming to Max in September at no additional cost to subscribers, spreading their availability beyond AMC+. The Cure’s double live album Show is being reissued on vinyl for the first time since its initial release in 1993.

The fresh repressing was remastered by The Cure’s Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The reissue was initially made available as a limited-edition picture disc for Record Store Day 2023, but it will receive a wide-release on 2xLP black vinyl beginning September 8th. Pre-orders are now ongoing.

The 18-track live album was recorded at The Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan in July 1992 during The Cure’s “Wish Tour.” The tracklist includes performances of “Pictures of You,” “High,” “Lullaby,” Just Like Heaven,” Fascination Street,” “The Walk,” “Let’s Go To Bed,” “Friday I’m In Love,” “Never Enough,” and “Inbetween Days” as well as deep cut like “Trust” and “From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea.”

The Cure has announced their first series of North American tour dates in more than four years. The Shows of a Lost World Tour began on May 10 and will wrap up on July 1. The Twilight Sad will support the band on all dates.

Last month, singer Robert Smith announced on Twitter that the band would also tour South America but that dates were still being decided.

Smith has previously teased a new Cure album with their last release coming out in 2008. After being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, he said, “If I’m optimistic it will be finished before the start of this summer.” However, the album still hasn’t been finished.

In recent years, Smith himself has collaborated with Gorillaz, Chvrches, Deftones and Noel Gallagher. In 2022, the band reissued their album, Wish (1992) for its 30th anniversary.

After their successful world tour in support of their 2022 album, Brightside, The Lumineers have announced an encore set of performances that will take place this fall.

The folk-rock band, which is led by Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz, will begin their tour in Maine in August. They will be joined by James Bay as the opening act and end their tour in Los Angeles on September 15.

Last year, The Lumineers performed 62 tour dates around the world. It was the band’s first tour since the cancelation of shows from their III: The World Tour due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Lumineers will go on a European leg of their tour during the summer, starting in Dublin, Ireland on June 2 and ending in Halifax, UK on July 9.

The Cure honored their most diehard fans last night at the New Orleans kickoff of their North American tour with the first performances of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me’s “A Thousand Hours” and The Head on the Door’s “Six Different Ways” since 1987.

Frontman Robert Smith sang the vocal to “A Thousand Hours” with his arms outstretched, asking the audience, “For how much longer can I cry like this? … For how much longer can I howl into this wind?” as his bandmates played the song’s dreamy synth-and-guitar swirls around him.

The Cure kicked off their first North American tour in seven years with a show at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Wednesday.

The Robert Smith-led band delivered a 29-song setlist that included several new songs presumably taken from their long-teased new album, Songs of a Lost World, including “Alone,” “And Nothing Is Forever,” “A Fragile Thing,” and “I Can Never Say Goodbye.” During the encore The Cure dusted off “A Thousand Hours,” from Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss, and “Six Different Ways” from The Head on the Door (neither song had been played since 1987).

HBO’s new series The Last of Us premiered to the approval of fans of the video game and viewers who are new to the franchise. Though the thrilling story has just begun, the first episode established the importance of the soundtrack in setting the mood for the post-apocalyptic world.

In the Fall chapter of the story, Joel (Pedro Pascal) admits to Ellie (Bella Ramsey) that he used to want to be a singer when he was a little boy. This would lead to the opening scene of the game's sequel, "The Last of Us Part II," in which Joel serenades Ellie with "Future Days" by Pearl Jam, a song that soon becomes the entire emotional throughline of the narrative, bookending Ellie's entire character journey.
