The frame gets flipped in the scene where the soldiers drive the Humvee through town. As they start moving, you can see the steering wheel and engine "snorkel" on the left; but when they pass they ambulance, it has switched sides.

When the helicopter with the scientists goes to the secret base, it is visible through the helicopter windows that one of the F-16s escorts them. This is impossible, because the F16 has a stall speed of about 250 mph while that helicopter has a max. speed of only 135mph - a difference greater than 100 mph.

Dr. Angela Noyce reports that what connects the three survivors is acidosis. Dr. Jeremy Stone says, "So, you're saying they survived Andromeda because they had the same level of stomach acid? That's brilliant." What's not brilliant is that acidosis has nothing to do with stomach acid. Acidosis is the acidity level of the blood.

When comparing the victim diagnoses, Dr. Noyce states, "If Sylvie breathed rapidly long enough, carbon dioxide would build up in her system and she would become acidotic." This is incorrect. Rapid breathing (hyperventilation) causes carbon dioxide blood levels to decrease, creating alkalosis, which is essentially the opposite of acidosis.

Supposedly, the "black stuff" must be artificial because it is made of buckyballs. That is false. Buckminsterfullerenes are commonly found in soot from just about any burnt organic substance. Also, Dr. Tsi Chou refers to buckminsterfullerenes as being named after their "inventor". This is not the case - they are named after Richard Buckminster Fuller (an architect) because they resemble his architectural designs. Also, they were not invented, but discovered.

The scientists say they are going to expose a rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) to the effects of the virus but later a tufted capuchin (Cebus apella) is shown. The rhesus is an Old World Monkey and is commonly used in medical and biological research whereas the capuchin is often used in entertainment and as a helper monkey because it is highly trainable.

In describing the black matter on the satellite, Dr. Tsi Chou tells Dr. Stone "This is nanotechnology light-years ahead of anything anyone is doing right now." A light-year is not a measure of time; it is a measure of distance. However, the statement is the same as saying "they are miles ahead of us": time itself has no reference in this instance. Dr. Chou is simply using distance to demonstrate how far ahead the technology is, not time.

When the doctors first come into the town of Piedmont, they see an old man who is dead. But the old man's chest sinks, as if he has just exhaled.

After the birds that attack the soldiers begin to fall into the river, the splashes are identical, revealing the recycling of the CGI effect. The birds in the flock also follow identical patterns in flight.

As Jack runs from the helicopter, there is a brief shot of the bag before it explodes. This is clearly a shot from before the landing, as you can see the legs of the guard sitting in the seat, and the cabin is not full of smoke.

At one point, the shadow of the passing helicopter is visible. Based on the shadow's length, the helicopter would be around twenty feet in length, while the actual UH-1 is just over 40'.

When the Predator drone is scanning the town with thermal imaging, dead bodies show up as if they have just died and are still warm. Assuming how long it would have taken to note the missing soldiers, quarantine the town, get the predator into the air, etc., it should be hours since they died and the bodies should have cooled to the same color as everything else.

The personnel in the innocuous-looking building above the "Wildfire" complex are said to have the "highest levels of security clearance" (and were specifically tasked with project security). Yet the guard at the desk agreed (with little or no persuasion) to use his personal cell phone to hook Dr. Stone up with, of all people, a reporter.
