Apple's new Ping service for iTunes prompted a declaration from "Big Fish" screenwriter John August today, and he's obviously been hanging out with Mac products for some time, given his outlook for it. Elsewhere, director Jason Matzer gave a micro-review of George Clooney's new flick "The American," and though we already new Eli Roth loves "The Last Exorcism," we didn't know he liked it enough to puke for it.
There was plenty of excitement in Twitter-Wood in the last 24 hours, too. Diddy seems to have sworn off cheeseburgers, while Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus got to get together for a small group shot with their fellow cast members from "Lol" and Jon Favreau picked a ride to go on with Olivia Wilde.
Find out what they jumped on after the break. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for September 2, 2010.

Don't worry. Ashton Kutcher appears to be safely on the ground and tweeting following an engine emergency in his plane. Thanks to the wonders of the Twitter-Wood feed, his well being has been verified. Today's report actually contains several notes of danger, with the "Spread" star showing up first. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler suffered injuries after a fall from stage during a concert in South Dakota. I don't have a Twitter account on file for Tyler, but writer Brian Lynch was on hand to tweet.
Significantly less dangerous was director James Gunn's birthday this week, which earned Twitter Pic of the Day honors. The "Slither" director apparently celebrated with some sushi and Lex Luthor himself, Michael Rosenbaum. You can scope out a link to that shot, as well as swearing advice and "Twilight" hopes from Peter Facinelli below. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for August 6, 2009.

Nick Jasenovec and Charlyne Yi's new movie "Paper Heart" got lots of love from the Twitter-Wood feed following its premiere last night -- though the best post thus far comes from the film's own Twitter account, which linked to this picture of Yi with actress and perennially gonzo social event cornerstone Bai Ling. Other attendees, judging from today's tweets, included "Twilight" actress Christian Serratos, Andy Milonakis and Jason Reitman.
In other tweetage, Rainn Wilson shared his unique perspective on "The Incredible Hulk," Jon Favreau switched gears back to acting for his new film "Couples Retreat" and Paris Hilton revealed the name of her new pet, which I predict is way more decadent the the name of your pet. Below, you may feast your eyes on all of these, as well as a potentially shocking confession from Rose McGowan. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for July 29, 2009.

Ideally suited as the opener of the eighth Method Fest, the annual Calabasas, Calif.-based film festival where the focus is on the acting, Dreamland is an atmospheric ensemble piece boasting several richly portrayed characters.
The film, which played at Sundance and is director Jason Matzner's first feature, surveys the lives and aspirations of a group of young people living in a remote trailer park in the New Mexico desert as seen through the eyes of 18-year-old Audrey (Agnes Bruckner).
Although a college education is definitely in the cards for her, Audrey has been preoccupied playing the role of nurturer to both her agoraphobic Father John Corbett), who has whiled away his trailer-bound days in a beer-soaked haze ever since her mother died, and her best friend Calista (Kelli Garner), who, despite being in the early throes of a progressively crippling illness, thinks she has a shot at becoming a future Miss America.
But things are about to take an unexpected turn with the arrival of Mookie (Justin Long), a soft-spoken jock whom Audrey tries to hook up with Calista, even as she herself begins to feel undeniable pangs of attraction.
While Tom Willett's script is a bit wispy on plot development, those unexpectedly complex characters and thoughtful, gently understated performances (especially from Bruckner and Garner) contribute some earthy substance, while Matzner and cinematographer Jonathan Sela take full advantage that ethereal New Mexico light in all its mood-altering guises.
