By now you may have heard of a relatively new Netflix series called Stranger Things, and if you haven't, what on Earth have you been doing with your life? The show is a brain child of siblings Matt and Ross Duffer that serves as one giant homage to 80s entertainment. The series, which stars Winona Ryder, launched on the streaming service with little fanfare on July 15, but quickly grew in viewership as positive word of mouth spread from fans.
Not only was Stranger Things a great love letter to Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, and old-school geek culture, but it was a gripping story as well. To top it off, the direction was distinct and solid, the acting (especially from the surprising child talent) was on point, and the overall execution was as good, if not better, than we've come to expect from a Netflix show.
So how well has the series been doing for Netflix?...
