"Why Can't I Ever Dream About Harrison Ford?" - April O'Neil reacts in disbelief when she first meets the talking, martial arts-trained turtles, lamenting her strange dreams. "Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go!" - Vanilla Ice takes inspiration from the turtles' moves and coins a catchy refrain during his performance, which becomes a theme and is even reused by Splinter to tease his sons.

Throughout the '80s, one of the most recognized pop culture franchises was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ninja Turtles quotes have made their way into pop culture. The comics, the animated series, and a hugely successful toy line were a staple for many, and in 1990, the franchise reached new peaks with the release of the first live-action movie.

The turtles received three live-action films throughout the nineties, and they are still mostly loved today.

Paramount Global lost $238 million from its streaming business this summer — and that’s a good thing.

The number is a marked improvement over recent quarters (a $424 million loss in Q2 and a $511 million loss in Q1), and quite a bit better than the market expected. “SNL” head writer Colin Jost and his brother Casey Jost are set to write the screenplay for a new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film in the works at Paramount, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The new “Tmnt” is currently untitled, and plot details are being kept under wraps. But the film will revolve around the martial arts master superhero turtles in their fight against the evil Shredder and their love of pizza.

Producing the “Tmnt” film are Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick and Galen Walker.

Michael Bay had rebooted the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise in 2014, and the film made $485 million worldwide at the box office, spawning a sequel, “Out of the Shadows” in 2016 that made $245 million. Seth Rogen is also executive producing a planned animated film for Nickelodeon based on the Turtles that will arrive in 2023.

Updated with release date: The CG movie reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which Deadline scooped last year (see the story below) was coming from Nickelodeon and Point Grey Pictures, now has a release date. The pic being directed by Gravity Falls‘ Jeff Rowe will hit theaters August 11, 2023.

Seth Rogen, who is producing with his Point Grey partners Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, unveiled the date Tuesday in a Twitter post, along with some “notes” from Leonardo, one of the four shelled heroes at the center of the kids franchise.

There were no other details provided aside from some doodling in the margins of the notes, which featured words like honor, loyalty and discipline which are staples of the Turtles mythology. There’s also a note to “apologize to April,” a nod to the journalist who helps the quartet fight crime.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to star in the YA comedy “Hot Pink,” which has been ordered to pilot at Amazon, Variety has learned.

The show is loosely inspired by Elana K. Arnold’s book “What Girls Are Made Of.” In the book, Nina Faye was raised to believe that there is no such thing as unconditional love, meaning she will do anything for her boyfriend to prove her worthiness. But when he breaks up with her, Nina is lost and sets out to find out what the conditions of love really are.

Elisabeth Holm created “Hot Pink,” with Holm also executive producing. Desiree Akhavan will direct and executive produce the pilot. Rebecca Green will also executive produce along with Sue Naegle and Ali Krug for Annapurna. Amazon Studios will produce in association with Annapurna.

Gellar is perhaps best known for her iconic leading role in the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” series.

Recently, Dotemu and Tribute Games shocked the gaming world by revealing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge; a tribute to the Tmnt beat ’em up classics of the late ’80s and early ’90s. As you can tell by the project’s debut trailer, Shredder’s Revenge looks to emulate the sights, sounds, and gameplay of what are generally remembered as some of the best arcade action games of their era.

Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles screens this Friday and Saturday nights (July 7th and 8th) at midnight at the Tivoli Theater as part of their ‘Reel Late at the Tivoli’ Midnight series.

I showed the condensed Super-8 version of Blazing Saddles, appropriately enough, at my Super-8 Politically Incorrect Movie Madness show a few years ago at The Way Out Club and there are enough N-words in the 18-minute edit alone to make Paula Dean blush, but damn, this movie just keeps getting funnier as it ages!

Blazing Saddles is my favorite Mel Brooks comedy. Yes, even more than Young Frankenstein – it’s hard to believe Brooks produced both yuk-fests the same year. I just watched his 1977 follow-up High Anxiety on 16mm last weekend for the first time since it was new and Yikes! – I see why it was a critical disaster – didn’t laugh once!

If you were a fan of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series, you're gonna love this new series of action figures that Neca just revealed! It's a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive box set that includes Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael. It also included the villains Shredder, Krang, and a couple Foot Clan thugs. The figures are all based on the designs from the classic cartoon series that we all grew up watching.

I use to own all of the original figures and I'm sure I've still got a few of them buried in some boxes somewhere. I'd love to get my hands on one of these sets! I really love the look of these figures and they would make a great addition to any collection.

I'll admit, I didn't know Virgin was coming out with its own fiber internet connection, but I'm not surprised. The surprise comes from the epic commercial they released to announce it! It starts off in a futuristic tunnel as we see French Revolution type running through it chased by flaming arrows shot by an unknown assailant. Then it gets crazy. An incredible race scene ensues, getting more crowded as it goes. The characters are references to movies and television shows like Game of Thrones, Mad Max, and The Dark Knight. We do get a cameo from one licensed character, Donatello from the Nickelodeon cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Turns out they're all racing inside a fiber cable line held by a Virgin Fibre installation guy, who thinks he hears the commotion inside the cable. The commercial ends with the following tagline. 

"The best entertainment deserves awesome wi-fi. This is Virgin Fiber.

It cost $70,000 to fit out a New York cinema to play the movie I'm Your Man. How did letting an audience choose what happens in a film go?

Sometimes, history consigns relatively revolutionary projects to the back of everyone's minds, never to be heard from again. That might just be the case for the movie I'm Your Man.

The film was released in December 1992, and was supposedly set to showcase new interactive cinema technology that had been developed by Loews Theatres in the Us. As such, the movie premiered at a specially-equipped Loews cinema in New York City, where audiences were charged $3 a seat for the 20 minute movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a cause of controversy long before Michael Bay became involved in it. The original comic book was no troublemaker, but once it became a cartoon/toy/movie/pop culture phenomenon parents became concerned that it was too violent for children.

In Great Britain it was subject to mondo censorship, dude. Ahem. The BBFC, the British Board of Film Classification, had chunks of the first film removed. The cartoon series was renamed Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, and weapons and violence were removed (television broadcasts are not subject...

Mondo recently announced a Nickelodeon-themed gallery art show that they are putting on called A Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-n-Nick-Nick-Nick... Nickelodeon Show! and they've released a couple of posters inspired by their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. They were created by Ciro Nieli, who is a producer and director on the show, and as you can see they have a very unique style to them. They have a very sketchy feel to them and they are filled with notes, which is actually kinda cool. The first poster features Casey Jones and the second is of Metalhead, who is a fifth robot Ninja Turtle created by Donatello. 

I also included a few other pieces that they teased featuring Ren & Stimpy by Florian Bertmer, Tmnt by Sachin Teng, and Rocko's Modern Life by Dave Perillo. The art show takes place from December 9th to the 17th at Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas.

This week Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows arrives on disc as well as via Digital HD. Did you miss it in theaters? Now's the perfect chance to pick it up! We announced Tmnt: Out of the Shadows' digital release earlier this month and also highlighted the new artwork that Paramount commissioned of each Turtle in the Renaissance style of their namesake's most famous art to celebrate the home video release. I’ve got an incredibly fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles short film for you to watch that was created by Invader Zim creator Jhonen Vasquez. The short features Donatello and Raphael fighting in a battle that escalates into ridiculousness.

We see the two characters battle in all sorts of ways that include playing video games, eating hot dogs, jump rope, and even a bake off. Of course, the Ninja Turtles wouldn’t be the Ninja Turtles without Shredder and his Foot Clan goons making an appearance.

This is a standalone short that isn’t connected to any other Tmnt project that is currently in development, but it’s still a lot of fun, so enjoy!

The San Diego Comic Con exclusive is a six-minute cartoon entitled “Don vs. Raph,” and it features an epic battle between the brothers over who is the better fighter. We chat to the producer, director and story editor of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Nickelodeon cartoon series...

In 2016, there are three main running Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continuities. There’s the film series, which I like, the comic book series, which I love, and the Nickelodeon cartoon series, which is my favourite.

I’ve written a lot of articles about the show because I think it’s excellent. I’d argue that it’s the best new take on the Turtles since the 1990 live-action film. It takes a lot of what I love about the Ninja Turtles and runs it through a filter of weird horror films and odd sci-fi. Then they add their own elements too, shaping it into this this sharp, funny lovely little oddball of a show.

Dr. Martens has announced that they are launching a new line of boots inspired by the characters from the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series (not that shitty film franchise that just keeps getting worse).

I don’t know about you, but when I was growing up in the '90s I spent a ridiculous amount of time at the arcade playing Konami’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. For those of you with fond memories of this game, you’ll love the action figures that were just announced by the collectible toy company Neca.

It wouldn't be a third person brawler game without some character specialties. That's exactly what Activision is showing off in the Character Trailers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan!

These trailers show highlights of each turtle and what they bring to the team. Leonardo’s determined focus, Raphael’s explosive attacks, Donatello’s calculating genius and Michelangelo’s wild energy are on full display. Not to mention, the environments and enemies that the Heroes in a Half Shell will encounter.

Activision has worked really hard, marketing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. So far, we've seen a couple of gameplay trailers, a villains trailer, and now character trailers. That's a lot of content for most video games. Perhaps, they're trying to pounce on the hype train, as Tmnt Out of the Shadows approaches. It's a smart move for the developer. Especially, since the game looks really good.

Activision, Nickelodeon and Platinum Games Inc. have revealed cosmetic character Dlc for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. The content will be available to those who pre-order the upcoming third-person action game ahead of its release in May.

Those who pre-order Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan from GameStop will receive four unique Rock N Roll costumes for Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo to wear in game, while pre-orders from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and Steam will earn four distinctive Samurai skins.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is a fast-paced team brawler that pits players against the many menacing minions of the Foot Clan, as well as fan-favourite villains like Shredder, General Krang, Karai, Bebop, Rocksteady, Armaggon, Wingnut and Slash. Players well be tasked with protecting the streets of New York City alone or with up to four others in online co-op.

The first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan was pretty awesome. However, this new "Boss" trailer may have gotten us even more hyped for the new game. I love some of the first person aspects they're incorporating. Also, the humor of Bebop is just on point. If you weren't excited before, you have to be excited to play this game now.

The upcoming sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is going to be full of nostalgic fan service. The follow-up to 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is adding a number of favorite characters, good and bad, including the alien Krang, the anti-hero vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) and the mutated thugs Bebop and Rocksteady. Also, the four "Heroes in a Half Shell" -- Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael -- will now have new transport that's basically a fresh take on an old vehicle. Instead of the classic Turtle Van, the movie features a tricked-out garbage truck (according to its toy, it's called the Turtle Tactical Truck). The March 27 episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (11/10c), titled “Trans-Dimensional Turtles,” finds the famous foursome — Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo — traveling to another dimension, where they encounter alternate versions of themselves from the original 1980s Ninja Turtles cartoon.

Cam Clarke (Leonardo), Rob Paulsen (Raphael), Barry Gordon (Donatello) and Townsend Coleman (Michelangelo) all return to voice their respective turtles, with Pat Fraley also coming back to voice the nefarious Krang.
