The film is supposed to be in the United States, with the US Air Force, and kids in a small town in Wisconsin. But, in the hamburger restaurant scene, there is a sign advertising "poutine". Poutine is a favorite in Quebec, it is the Canadian equivalent of French fries, but with brown gravy and cheese curds. A hamburger joint in the U.S. would offer French fries, not poutine.
All The Air Force Security Personnel Have MP (Military Police) Arm Bands. The Air Force Does Not Have MPs, The Air Force Has SFs (Security Force).
The military vehicles in the movie when they break onto the base, are definitly Canadian. The MP vehicle is an Iltis jeep, and the trucks they drive past (with the large windscreens) are HLVW trucks.
